I love the intense joy I feel from when you gave the treat. She or he did not understand how to stop until you comforted her. Literally cannot understand the difference between affection and food when it's that much of a similarity stimulator. Kinda like cuteness aggression. The energy in animals is adorable when they're loved.

Frogs are surprisingly calm creatures. I was fishing one time and saw a frog in the shallows. I picked him up with my net, and he didn’t even struggle. He just waited until we put him back in the water.

Surprised me too. I used to keep frogs as pets for a few days and then release them when I was kid. All I remember was that I was fascinated by them, but I don’t remember any of them having a personality.

They don't really, but they can like most animals who don't show affection associate their owner with food and as people they can choose to conflate genuine love and "feed me".

They're not 'bonding'. Frogs 'tolerate' housemates, and can become accustomed with their owners who feed them, but don't mistake this for bonding.

@@Aquascape_Dreaming I think a lot of people associate affection to bonding and, in that sense, no, frogs are incapable of feeling affection, but if by bonding someone means a link based on trust and comfort, then I'd argue frogs can bond with humans. They learn to associate their owner to food and grow to trust them, and it's been said that some amphibians possibly enjoy the sensation of being stroked. I don't think it's wrong to call it bonding, so long you know they don't have an emotional connection to you.

@@riddler3488 I dunno. Enjoying the sensation, and associating that enjoyment with a certain individual which it trusts completely sound like a form of affection to me. I'm pretty sure most animals ranging from mammals to amphibians won't just trust any human they come across, and only allow a select few individuals to get as intimate with them.
