Rempe is still a 21 year old kid. He hits the weight room fills out his lengtht body a little more he’s gonna be a wrecking ball. There’s some hockey skill left to tap into as well, he was called up early specifically to fill this role and he does it pretty well all things considered. Wouldnt be shocked to see him benched for Chytil to start the Canes series though if Chytil is indeed ready to come back.

Those of you that wanted or were expecting a Rempe vs Wilson fight to happen don't know much about hockey and the playoffs huh? There was absolutely no reason for Rempe to even pay any attention to wilson. The series was clearly going to be won by the Rangers. And there was absolutely no gain to fight him and give them any energy or risk injury. And that's why you don't see players fighting a lot in the playoffs. Unless it's absolutely necessary and a line brawl or something crazy happens. Mostly it's just roughing penalties because players are not trying to sit in the box. You may see a fight in game one or two but you won't see it later on when it could cost either team a valuable goal or momentum that could lead to a loss. So Rempe couldnt have cared less about Wilson. Hes smart. Did exactly what he should have because we're moving on to play in the next round and the caps and wilson are an afterthought. Rempe came out on top 100%. And he showed a lot of class and discipline by not fighting him when he def wanted to and was clearly told not to by the coaching staff. His job was to protect the other players. wilson would have had to do something stupid and take a penalty in order to get Rempe to fight, therefore keeping the capitals in check. Even though they were still trying dirty shit. The Rangers are too smart to fall for it. There will be a time and a place next season but this was definitely not it. I could have told you from the start of the series that they weren't gonna fight. Rempe is out there to throw hits and electrify the team and drive the other team crazy to get them off their game. And he did a damn good job of it.

I can't believe caps fans are talking about Rempe instead of Ovechkin. Your star player didn't even show up. He was outscored by Rempe and didn't even get a single point. All he cares about is trying to break Gretzky's record, and that's the only reason the caps even made the playoffs. He tried to score as many goals as he could before the season ended and that got them in the playoffs. But once the goals don't matter towards his overall count in the playoffs he stopped trying and that is just despicable. He has become the most selfish player I have ever seen. The disrespect that he is showing to the capital's fanbase is a shame. In hockey you play for the crest on the front of your jersey, not the name on the back. He does not deserve to break Gretzky's record.
