The best thing you can do to a narcissist, whether you left on your own or were discarded is to give them your absolute silence and absence, become totally indifferent to their existence. They can only exist in your thoughts but never in your world. Consider yourself lucky if they have left you alone and focused their attention elsewhere. They're horrible people.

Once you know, you know. The only other thing left to do, is start formulating a discrete strategy to make your exit. It may take several attempts, Lord knows it surely took me several, before I made my permanent move, yes with children. I wasn’t planning on leaving any behind! The children MUST come first by any means necessary. Go and live your lives good people. We weren’t meant to fix anyone, nor.. can we! Imagine trying to fix someone who’s slowly killing you? Go.

Im glad I left…….. As much as I wanted to stay and be there for my children, be the father to them i didnt receive I couldn’t. Over time it got worse and quickly. This person made me feel like I was a narcissist myself. I found myself responding and reacting the same way she was which made me feel like I was the actual problem. Being a people pleaser I accepted blame for everything while she got a kick out of me losing my mind. After I left the alienation started and now im at odds with my own legacy. She’s acquired flying monkeys in my own family members using my past with the stories shes been told against me. The court system is just as bad as she also has them in her back pocket. Its all about control and dominance. 3 yrs later i feel alot freer as going no contact has been an important choice to move closer to being a better version of self. It is not easy being lied on and watching those you love be manipulated however I understand the necessity in it all. One day my children will be curious and because I didnt loose my mind fighting a fight that is undefeated it would be a relief to guide them through the process of my experiences

I can’t stress how important it is to journal wake up in the morning. First thing you do write down what you’re thinking start there and then once things start to be easier to identify and construct what exactly you’re feeling right Moor and you’ll find yourself writing things that are surprisingly Clear and present, but you’ve been manipulated for so long that you’re just in this dysfunctional state that you can’t think or constructive thought to save your life, but I am telling you every day with one journal entry every morning do it I am telling you it’s going to work like magic like magic Get a journal book. Keep it open. Get a pen. Leave it on the journal from waking up to writing in your journal. Should be one step cut everything in between off get up. Go to the journal right down if it’s a pen that you have to click get a pen that’s already ready to write. That’s how much you need to cut the steps from waking up to writing inside of your journalshould be taken that seriously

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde…. that’s what I use to say about ex. I kept thinking… what did I do wrong, I was not enough, good enough, thin enough, smart enough, and did not contribute enough money. Sex was pathetic….I know somehow, I was “saved” when he left…. healing has been painful only because of how I was left feeling about myself. On the flip side of this “thinking” , I have found people, teachers, love, support, nurturing and even financial support ever since he left. When I beat myself up, which is a bad habit, I remind myself how fortunate I have been with all that has come into my life….. even the reality of narcissistic abuse. What a lesson! I am grateful for awareness of this behavior and hope others who suffer or have from it get the help that is being offered by the realization that it exists and there is help.

My ex-husband was as evil as evil exists. Caused me to attempt suicide twice, loss of promising future as a single, beautiful 32 yr old. As I reflect back I realize I married a monster. Our son 33 yrs old has become a narcissist to the core. Until I learned I simply absorbed the abuse. No more. It horrifies me that narcissists exist. The damage done to persons who are ignorant is tremendous. My only consolation is I know Justice is coming and harshly by a God who is all-knowing and those who harm His children or anyone are going straight to Hell for eternity.

I’m 67 yo. I learned of this mental disorder three years ago. My first husband was an extremely abusive narcissist which set me up to repeat the mistake with another one. He’s worse than the first one. I was love-bombed and after successfully being thrown in a cage, it was over. He moved onto the next. These women seemingly came out of the woodwork, more than happy to fulfill his needs. So now I stay locked in my room. I stayed thinking he most likely wouldn’t live past 70 but remembered too late that psychopaths/sociopaths never die. I’m sure I’ll cry when he’s gone but hopefully they’ll be tears of relief and peace. ❤

It is so disappointing that there are people like this… My soon to be ex wife used me until I broke, trapped me with my children and then after she depleted my GI Bill she took them and falsely accused me of abuse… She did this Dec 15th last year… a very hard time for me having PTSD… I had to call the veterans crisis hotline for the 1st time and then many times over the months… she socially isolated me and then left me alone to die. But she underestimated my will for my children, they are more important than me and I need to get them away from her. By the way I am the 3rd person in her cycle of destruction

What’s the solution for a narcissistic spouse? I’ve been married for over 10 years without realizing that she was a narcissist until recently. After a few months of marriage, I thought she had a mild intellectual disability. Here are some of what she does: 1. You don’t listen to me 2. We don’t have the same goals, you need to do what I’m doing. 3. You don’t go to church, and when I go to church on regular basis, then she will say “ We need to pray at home at least once at home. If we do that, then she start questioning or challenging my Christianity or she will say “ You can’t be a Christian if you don’t read the Bible “. 4. Complaining about everything 5. Lack of consistency 6. Creating chaos for no reason. For example “ You don’t take care of me” etc. 99% of my advice to her is rejected, even if she asks me for an advice. Sometimes when I ask her to ask her best friend for advice for the same issue, and if her friend tells her the same thing that I advised her then she will start questioning or challenging her friend’s integrity. So what are your thoughts on this?
@stoicseveryday

See any relationship is built on a proper communication.. you need to talk it out with her.. making her realise that if it's not sorted out ASAP, it can make your relationship in danger. If she truly loves you, she will definitely try to listen to atleast what's important for you or what's bothering you...i can't comment on the Christianity part bcs that is a very sensitive topic and I don't prefer talking about it on social media. If nothing works.. I would lastly suggest you to seek professional help.. everything depends on her perspective. If she is afraid of loosing you a little bit, I am sure she will definitely try to understand the main issue in your marriage. And thanks for commenting, we all are a family here, I am sure people will try to help you in their own way... We provide strength to each other...stay blessed and don't loose trust in your God, I am sure if you truly believe him, he will make a way for you my friend.

Breaking our repetition is the key....because ive discovered oddly I attract the narcs...3 long term relationships But what is confusing....two met in bars and one online. How do they know you're an empath !

What I find odd is that I always second guess and question myself. Then when I listen to the descriptions of the stereotype for one it makes total sense. My take on things is that whatever force we believe in GOD or universe etc etc I have this notion that we all have blueprints We come in as empaths...or narcs....or any other type of person... It's almost like two sides of the spectrum..... The older you get the more you see them. The more apparent it becomes so much so that when youve met dozens carrying the same traits there really must be a blueprint at birth !

My family is full of them from generations of alcoholism. I've got help over the years but they never did. Many of them I've walked away from and some I'll distance myself for awhile if they won't respect me. I don't go into anything deep and I grey rock many of them. They think I'm boring but can't handle the criticism over small things.

Setting boundaries and prioritizing your own well-being is important, even if others may not understand or agree with your choices. Remember to focus on what's best for you and continue to prioritize your mental and emotional health. If you ever need support or someone to talk to, there are always resources available. You're not alone in this journey.

Since 2019 ive been in a narcissistic haze always. At all times. Ii think i may have died and am in hell... For me its not just one, it is very plural... narcissi. I never realized nearly all the people closest to me are narcs my family. My friends. Lovers. And worst of all i think theyve begun corrupting my bpd to a cluster of cluster b personality disorders including ppd w/npd

The age of believing others from generation to generation telling the same stories again and again have made a lot of damage even if they did on school learning old books from the past worldwide is duality in the society……everyone is unique as entering the age of knowing is who are you as you are not a book of someone else…..

I was nearly killed by him and my children, too... He is a Swedish preschool teacher, and he still works with small children at a school even though he HIT me in my head and my BRAINS giving me an organic BRAIN injury/condition. The Police left me and our common children in our home after the abuse. We weren't taken to the ER and put in a safe place. So WE woke up next to him in the same bed. The same bed I refused to sleep in before he HIT me because he was unfaithful with another mother.
