He didn’t even include crippling(best hamstring in game). Which is soooo op especially paired with shiv you literally can’t move when an ass rogue is on you. Being able to have crippling + wound + mind numbing all the time is insane.

As a windwalker main gearing my alt rogue I had the immediate same reaction to feint… just hits diff when you’ve played WW and now you can use a 20%dr on a 15 second cd vs 15/15 health on a 6 minute cd or 20 on a 2 min cd. Wild

The problem is that they have it all: CC, utility, mobility, defensives, damage. I'm OK with them having a lot of CC, that's kind of their thing. But they should not be tankier than a warrior while also out-damaging mages....

Maybe a good option would be stack hemotoxin with wound on talents making it a choice of one or the other

Ive played since Vanilla and Rogues have been OP every single season. Every single season. They have been the best PvP class since I remember. There is no question about it. Every single season they are OP.

Didn't realize mind numbing did more than just slower cast times. It does make sense now, as it seemed like everything slowed down in addition to cast times.

In the feint tooltip it only says 40% area damage reduction. Not all damage reduction aswell btw

The rogue trying to silence you was the best part of the video LMAO, that sorta thing really takes me back. But tbh, there's a lot of things in the game that really need changing, not just rogues. If you ask me, every class and spec in the game just needs a complete fundamental rework from the ground up. There's so many things that really just don't need to be in the game you know what I mean? So much endless CC, endless gap closers and extremely excessive mobility, that and all the cooldowns that exist in the game.

Rogue CC is out of control, adding time to it, would be fine. or making them have a choice for a cc talent... Deathmark is literally the most annoying cd... everyone is DI dwarfs, and classes that cant be, are kill targets. Be careful Ven, all these d riders are going to come for you like they did Cdew... Nerf Rogues, that is all, but do it tastfully.

Also your point about tank being lesser evil compared to rogues...Actually I like how Brewmaster works, it's not a raid boss, it gives utility and disruption with decent valuable DPS.

I have always said this, and I always will, they should not be so tanky. No where in any rp are rogues meant to be tanky. Everything they have currently is fine, if they actually were properly killable. They shouldn't have any damage reduction cds, nor should the have cheat death of any kind.

In Shadowlands I remember in rated battlegrounds yelling "I've been rogued!" When a wild sub rogue was visible for the 1.5 seconds it would take to kill my Paladin. The bleed/MS/damage cooldowns/cc an Assassination rogue must do correctly to get a kill takes more time and skill than the sub rogue one shot. Only ran into one skilled sub rogue in DF that knew how to execute a one shot in the first few seconds of an arena match. Sub to me when I play it feels very weak outside of the initial burst damage from stealth with all cds. Assassination sustained damage is far better for me, but not as high as current Paladin damage. Problem with Paladin is it doesn't have the other 5 tools many specs use for success, all it has is damage if an enemy sits still long enough.

Rogues definitely need to be nerfed. They were clearly the outlier in the AWC and were extremely OP.

Yeah but what you all seem to forget is, Rogue and most if not all it's stuns and drs require energy. They're not like a Warr who can just bolt you from africa while in defensive stance and tunneling your healer, or a DH who has a 3sec AOE stun and has more movement than anything else.

The new vendetta is literally a kill button that if you don’t trade a major coldown you are automatically dead.

What they need to do is either buff defensive for some classes. Or have stuns, kicks, roots on a lower diminishing return. Or place all loss of control effects under 1 diminishing return. With PMR the reason it’s so good is because of all the CC they have on different diminishing returns. So these cc chains go for 10-15 seconds if you have no trinket. But I think some classes def. Need their defensive buffs or some new defensive added.

It seems like rogues pay a comparatively small cost for their MS effect than other classes that have it.

They have blink. Rogues are basically every class in the game rolled into one.

Just do what they did in Wrath, they moved their talents around so for example at that time, you couldn't have Mutilate and Shadow Step at the same time, Rogues actually dropped down in power drastically making other classes more viable. I was a Rogue main at the time and even I felt like it was a needed change.

All you have to do to Nerf rogues, get rid of garote silence and double the amount of attacks req to put on mind numbing.

I agree with the poisons being the main culprit right now. Mindnumbing is weird because it used to be a choice into casters exclusively and you would take crippling for melee. But with Dragon tempered blades you just always get both. I think it would make way more sense to remove the haste element from mind numbing and just make it cast speed because when playing into a full melee comp, there could be some argument to run atrophic (probably not, but maybe). Hemotoxin should just be deleted. Assa is supposed to thrive off control and constant pressure. linking 16s of double shiv hemotoxin during deathmark doesn't really make sense thematically or in gameplay. Kidney is longer because it costs more than other stuns. but the CD is pvp is probably a little out of line with similar abilities. I did see quite a few rogues taking cheat death in AWC, so they would not be getting the 20%dr of feint from elusiveness. definitely a healthy choice node but elusiveness is probably a little overtuned. I don't know if it would be the first choice for a nerf as rogues are still the main target in a lot of matchups. The blind->sap->sap->gouge combo with smoke bomb for trinket coverage is one of the main culprits but, like you said, it's also one of the core mechanics of rogue. I think it's worth looking at the interaction with blind and sap though. I know they say PvP and PvE tuning is completely separate but my tinfoil hat says that the current dominance of assas in pvp is holding back some highly requested quality of life changes for assas in raid and m+. (along with the over performance of assas in heroic for some reason). I'd be very happy to see rogue out of the spotlight in PvP for a while so there isn't so much community pressure against buffs to the class where it's needed in other parts of the game.

rogues, and at least for now to a lesser extent mages too, have WAY too much in their toolkit. Its like devs have a permanent hard on for rogues and mages in pvp and give them so much more pvp-centric abilities than all the other classes.

Rogues definitely need some of their utility updated or put in places in the trees that they can't get everything.

Fiststun was fundamentel to Monks and they pruned it, it still hurts. I think Rogue is the best class in every aspect, they have the best MS, they have one of the best mobility, they have the best CC and lockdown and they have the best defensive toolkit - And thats the problem, they don't lack in any aspect, they don't really have a counter. They need to nerf them in every aspect and make them killable.

They can always introduce tournament spec bans or something instead of gutting a certain spec just to not see it played. Give each team 1 or 2spec bans (non healers probably). would force alot of players to learn an alt

Just had a WTF moment with a rogue that kept a nearby ally pretty much disabled for 60 secs straight, while having an uptime on me like shit stuck to a shoe, with an answer to anything while having little to no counterply against themselves. What's the cd on shadowstep nowadays anyway? Or do they have smth else now? (haven't played since legion) Literally teleported right to me 3 times in 10secs. I mean, props for such a high skill expression ceiling, but that's just busted in contrast to every other class.

Can't get past 1300 and I've played rogue as my main class for 10 years. A rogue in multi glad hands != rogue in everyday hands.

In Shadowlands Assa rogues were mostly trash still they had 7sec Kidney with deeper strat and ppl didnt had 15% reduced cc trinket bonus, they also had 30% Faint with a longer duration, and they had even 40% shiv ms, and disarm and vanish and evasion and cloak. That means the line between being good and being bad is really small and changes should be done carefully a decent buff alone to some other specs could already change things up.

Take away dismantle and some melee specs will start to bully rogues.

If blizz wants melee to have 100% uptime, i think just giving locks a shield cd is dumb class design, give casters a aoe like the frost mage swirly thing to force melee off with damage.

Feint is reduced in pvp to 10% which is why some run cheat death. I think they should nerf shadow step charges and the range on blind/sap so they have to ration mobility.

Rogue players cry whenever they get called out that the class doesn't take that much skill. Literally having insane amounts of cc, control, damage, smoke bomb, mobility, stealth it's just ridiculous. Especially having the advantage ALWAYS in the beginning of the game.

I've been saying for a long time that rogues could do basically zero damage and you would still see them at top level of play. The amount of tools you have for literally every situation imaginable is just over the top. No other class comes close.

Lets give back druids fairy fire and symbiosis, Mages greater invisibility also used to remove dots. I love how people complain about rogues, when the issue is the horrid class design changes since wod and more so legion. Really no one complained ever about the rogue underdog in MoP for example.

I honestly don't get why the community is going bananas about them like this isn't a constant problem. Any time they've had high dmg in pvp they've been super overpowered. Seeing how blizz doesn't want to take away any defensives/cc from them.

Nice breakdown of the rogue kit and its impact on PVP. There was actually a decent amount of variety in the team compositions in the AWC, which was nice. I think the meta isn't really even established, I think people have undervalued mistweaver+ele shaman, as all the healers with ele shaman were druids i believe, or maybe priests as well. Not sure but other than Rogue kind of being the ubiquitous class, pvp isn't terrible right now.
