Not only does it dismiss what it means to transition, it also dissmisses what it means to be a biological woman. As a currently 37 weeks pregnant woman myself, about to give birth, I can't help but feel like this whole movement is hurting biological woman. It feels like it's dis-acknowledging the amazing abilities of a woman's body, the life we can create, the food we can provide through our breasts, and the pain we have to suffer from periods, to pregnancy and child birth, to menopause later in life etc. It makes me sad to see all of this being dismissed like it's nothing, and same goes for the women in sports who now have no chance to win - which winning is what competetive sport is all about. After everything women have gone through to get to where we are today, it's dissapointing to feel a step back into suppression but for a different reason now. I support trans people, but I don't support them surpressing cis/biological women. There needs to be a distinction still, because there's clearly always going to be differences and no one else in this world can do what we can do with our bodies.

And that's exactly the line everyone should tread. But both 'camps' want to recruit people to extremes. Trans women are women, trans men are men. They can be gay or straight just like cis people. But there are differences. Trans women won't know the pain of childbirth even if they want to and cis women will never know the pain of SRS. Trans men have periods doesn't mean cis women don't. I have a cousin who for a while identified as trans. She started dressing like a boy and had the full support of our family. We even used male pronouns at her request. As she got up in her teen years she talked about wanting to transition. Again, had the support of family who were open to those discussions and her journey to know her truth. Willing to ask questions to understand where her heart and mind was. Authentically. When she turned 17, she said she realized that she was a lesbian with an extreme tomboy personality and said she didn’t really think she was trans. Again we continued to support her because life can be difficult with judgement from others. Today she lives as a woman who dates other women and said she’s glad she didn’t go through with the surgery. I am completely supportive of the trans community and I agree that conversation has been muddled when they are not willing to acknowledge these stories.

Not necessarily, going on testosterone (especially when you’re younger, 18+) changes the density of your bones, the thickness of your skin, the emotions you feel, and you gain muscle at much the same rate as a bio male would, assuming you work out and eat right for your body type. I would say if a trans male hasn’t been on testosterone for at least a year, then they might have some disadvantage in athletics, but for the most part, most trans men can compete with most bio men at the same level or higher. Testosterone does a lot more to the bio female body than estrogen does to the bio male body. That’s why a lot of trans women have a hard time transitioning if it’s not early on, they are stuck with the permanent changes of testosterone that estrogen can’t really change.

I've always supported the trans community and tried to make some more stubborn people get that there's nothing wrong with that. I started having problems not with the trans community but with the extremist side of the gender fluid/non binary team (i said extremist because the others are usually chill), when they started denying the existence of biological genders at birth and wanted to remove the sex voice from passports/identity cards until someone is old enough to chose theirs, which would make it burocracy wise A MESS. I tried to have a conversation with a nonbinary person about this, explaining how i thought it would make it difficult for governments to identify you, that there are more important battles to get acceptance rather than removing "ladies and gentlemen" from public announcements before even having people knowing what non binary mean (let's be honest, a lot of people that don't spend too much time on the internet dont know what genderfluid and non binary are). This person straight called me "victim of the patriarchy" and bigot since im straight and cisgender, told me that their requests are legit and we just have to accept them, and that if we don't know what nonbinary/genderfluid means it's time for us to get educated instead of thinking that there are only two genders. It wasn't a pleasant talk yeah. I feel bad because i've seen improvements in the past years for trans people but these kind of people are kinda ruining them

They are telling these gay men that liking make up and glam means you’re trans, and that you don’t have to even hate your body or genitals to be trans! Add in the desperation many femme gay men feel when it comes to dating (since gay men want masculine men) and they see that transsexual women are desired by men, and they crave that attention, and pretend to be “trans” to get it. Honestly, I’m 13 right now and sometimes I have a passing thought of ‘Hey, I really want to be a guy right now’, in which it was more prevalent when I was younger. I’m coming to terms that maybe it was because of all the stuff I’ve been through and the fact that I’ve always thought that being a boy would rid me of all the negative statements made about my body and the trauma I’ve more or less experienced. Why? Because I believed it would make me feel as though I was reborn. Also, the idea of being a guy in a girl’s body influenced me a lot, as I’ve picked up a lot of traditionally ‘male’ behaviours, speech and so on due to not having much of a mother-figure in my life and growing up watching men on the internet. If I were to have told my parents about wanting to be a boy and they were to have allowed me to transition, I feel as though I’d probably never truly feel happy with myself as I’d know that I’ll never truly be a boy. Just make sure to let her know you’ll support her no matter what but make sure not to make any rash decisions, as even now, hormonal blockers are relatively new and there aren’t any known side effects yet, in which one of them could be the potential permanent impairment of the brain. Wish you and your daughter the best! ✨✨

My parents never held me to a feminine standard and just let me be a kid and discover myself on my own, though other kids who actually were trans did not always have as understanding of parents as I did. These days, it isn't any easier on kids because now they're being told that if they don't feel right as their biological gender, they must be the opposite gender, which plays head games just as much when people said that people can't be trans. I am a 48 y/o gay man, who grew up in the midwest and lived through and personally experienced many of the struggles of the gay rights movement and you hit the nail on the head when speaking about the differences between that and the trans movement. You guys are in sore need of a REBRAND and these emotionally stunted ‘angry teenagers’ that are running the show now need to just suck it up, own their mistakes, walk it back and decide to try a different approach. People are really getting hurt by all this, both in and out of your community and cooler heads need to prevail because things are only going to get worse. The gays didn’t get it right just out of the gate, we had to adapt and make compromises along the way. It took many many years for our movement to mature and make it out of our ‘angry teenager’ phase, but we did it and you guys can too! Because everyone wants to be "trans" but don't want the monetary responsibility of transitioning. Also because these people are perfectly fine living and presenting as the gender they were born as, they just want to *feel* as though they're somehow different. Like you can identify as whatever you want, but why call yourself, for example "genderfluid" when everything about you screams "woman"? You don't dress ambiguously, you don't present ambiguously, you just barely act ambiguously, and 99% of the time you're talking about women's issues as if they relate to you. But you're "genderfluid" or "nonbinary". How? It's just a label with no effort because the label is all you need these days.

"Wait are you telling me that scientists who know about evolution being imperfect process are not actually using classifications on the notion of 100% purity ?" Yep. A biological male with few % of female biological characteristics is still a biological male just like how humans with Neanderthal genes are still classified as Homo Sapien Sapiens and not Neanderthals or "hybrids". I mean for fuck sake we humans share over 90% of the genes with Chimps and that doesn't make us Chimps. This was the argument that made me realize that the trans argument went against women’s rights. Harvard University and other birth/female focused healthcare providers and charities have started using birthing bodies, bleeders, and cervix havers for women during panels, posts, information packets, and activism regarding pregnancy and birth. That’s incredibly dehumanizing. The realities of women’s lives must be able to be spoken in the public square. I would think the trans community would want to uplift women’s voices and acknowledge the differences in our experiences. But that’s not what’s happening.

There used to be an acceptance that girls and boys could have varied interests now if you don't like the things "assigned" to their gender you are suddenly trans regardless of dysphoria or not and that is just idiocy. @tula1433
@tula1433 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Very different! Just like biological women have no idea how distressing it is to be constantly criticized for having the same interests as girls and being innately feminine as a child that’s born a male. Or to have a group of girls as friends as a child and then when boys come around completely turn on you as if they are also your bullies so they can get male attention for it. When we get bullied we can’t say “you can’t hit me I’m a girl” like you can. I was sexually assaulted as a child by a married man and was told to keep it quiet as to not “upset his wife” because in todays world females feelings matter more then males. Most situations strangers will rush to help a female, but i as a trans person have to wonder if the people around me would have my back if something went down. You’ll never understand that. I also had an incident as a passable trans woman as an adult with a man who took advantage of me, and I didn’t go to the police because I knew I’d be blamed for my own SA. Women will never know how it feels to be afraid to get cat called, you might be annoyed or offended by it, but for us it could mean life or death if the wrong person realized we’re trans. Anytime a bio woman is killed or rap3d she gets nothing but sympathy. We get accused of tricking someone and blamed for our own murder even tho in todays world none of us have to trick anyone as most men don’t care we’re trans, especially behind closed doors. We put up with more disrespect from men then the average women could ever imagine. And tbh I wonder sometimes if women are okay with it. I literally won’t go to bars with groups of girls because they sometimes will police every interaction with men who hit on me. As if I’m supposed to out myself to someone I’m not even interested in! SOME women will call us she all day and tell us how gorgeous we are UNTIL a guy like us then it’s “u know that’s a dude right?” “U know she’s trans RIGHT?” Honestly I can see why so many trans people just live stealth we get constantly disrespected. We have very different lives then people who are born the sex they identify as. Like you said two totally different worlds, that’s why so many FTM detransitions happen, these women find out how much harder men have it then women!

Gay rights took DECADES to get to this point. No one was ever forced into accepting them, it just happened over time. From what I see, from the outside looking in, is that Trans rights activists want complete acceptance and sometimes complete obedience when they have only been about for a very short period of time. Before Transsexuals was just thought to be a different type of homosexuality, or sadly, sometimes some sort of fetish. There isn't even enough scientific knowledge to properly classify Transsexualism and any research is attacked by the very community that it would help. Forcing someone, to do something they might not usually want to do, will only end up with that person pushing back out of spite and you get them to WANT to accept a new thing or concept for lasting societal change.

Love this. I had a person in a woman’s group online tell us to stop genderizing birth and pregnancy. They said we should be called “birthing people” or “vulva people”. Someone made a solid point that women should not be reduced to a single function of their body or a single part. Nobody’s identity should be reduced to a single organ, which I think is what the trans movement used to be more about.

So it’s really a breath of fresh air that not every trans person is toxic like that. I love you. ❤ I’m glad that I came across your channel. My friend is an Ally like that & I feel like me challenging her thought process or giving her a different perspective or just talking about it in general will damage our relationship. Yes. Speaking from experience, I lived through my teen years not comfortable in a female body but also didn't know if I'd be more comfortable with a male body. Years later when I learned there's a difference between femininity and girliness, I realized that I'm actually still feminine, albeit a bit tomboy, and that I'm also attracted to women. It cleared up a lot. It also speaks to the recent studies that a lot of detransitioning females happen to be just gay instead.

What I have been noticing lately that’s not helping the trans community is how the trans movement clashes with the women’s rights movement. Women need to be protected because it is so unfortunate that we as biological women have to work twice as hard to get ahead, we have to keep fighting to be respected, we have to protect our space. If a male transitions to female that person will take the inner self worth somehow because males are taught to be sure of themselves and to be leaders, just by society’s default and that trans woman can crush any biological woman in some way somehow. Biological women always second guess themselves making it harder for us to get ahead. I want trans people to assimilate and lead fulfilling lives but I don’t want biological women to suffer because another community is being upheld at our expense.

Not going around saying if you have a different belief you are a bigot. It makes people feel attacked and not want to accept anything. You say she is attacking others, while that may be true same goes for the other side. If someone disagrees about something but still support the community they get called a bigot. It makes people mad and not accept the community at all. Although yes, some people just will never get it or refuse, but that's with everything. But we have got to work on the majority of people, and calling them names just cause they disagree is not how we should go about it
