We check in to our London Travelodge and almost instantly wish we had stayed somewhere else.
Join us in today's vlog as we drive to Teddington in London through a torrential rain storm to check in to a Travelodge hotel for the night. We would usually choose Premier Inn but we are attending our friends birthday party and this was the closest hotel.
First impressions are everything they say and this Travelodge certainly didn't give a great one as we struggled to find a parking space and put our car on the line just to get up the entry ramp. Check in was easy and the room was clean but that is pretty much where the positives of this hotel end.
We give a full room tour before heading out to the party. The vlog picks back up the next morning when we tell you exactly what we thought of our stay at this London Travelodge.

A few years ago I did a 16 day road trip of GB. From Southampton to Inverness and back via Cardiff Llandudno Glasgow Aberdeen York and London and stayed in Premiere inns exclusively and you are correct, they are great value and generally safe locations (felt a little uncomfortable around hotel in Glasgow but the inside parking made me relax). When you tour the states also stay away from Travelodge (I've seen roaches). Also avoid econolodge. Comfort inns are very much like Premiere, Sleep inns are a cousin of comfort with less amenities (shower instead of bath). Keep up the enjoyable content. When you guys and the sisters are together i find myself laughing out loud with you. You're never too old to get silly.

Yeah we waited too long as we always do but even £27.50 would have been over priced 😂 it was £52 when we looked 2 days earlier 😱

I will forever choose a premier inn over a travel lodge. They are usually cheaper/similar prices to a travel lodge, have much nicer room decor in my opinion and have way better food options.

I stayed in several Travelodge hotels in greater London, including the one in Teddington, and always found them to be very good value for money. If you paid 45/night you were ripped off. I have never paid more than about 35/night in Teddington and often less than 30! The one at Gatwick was renovated and is much nicer than older ones like Teddington or Ealing.

I guess we were just unlucky and it was a Friday night during the summer holidays. Maybe we will give them a second chance at a different location 🤔

We love travelodges but when we go away In 2 weeks we are actually staying in premier inns which I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in 😂 premier inn actually came out cheaper where we are going I’m so glad now :)

Premier Inn nearly always comes out cheaper now and you get so much more for the money too! We won’t be rushing back to a Travelodge that’s for sure!

I have stayed in both Premier Inns and Travel Lodges. I can confirm that the breakfasts in PI are superior :)

Now, I live in America but the Travelodge facilities here are HORRIBLE. I've stayed in one in South San Francisco for an event and I noticed many things wrong with the room. But the worst part was when I saw bedbugs. They were huge. I checked out immediately and on my way driving out of an IHOP, I saw some maintenance workers hauling out another mattress from another room. So I was thinking that room had the same problem. So I never stayed there again and now I stay at the beat western plus. Worth the extra money.

I'm currently forced to stay god knows how long in a Travelodge due to severe water damage in my flat building and I HATE the sodding place!!! 😡😡😡All alone, nobody to talk to, gormless staff, no food or cooking services and bored out of my skull!!! I so want to go home I'm just glad my landlord is footing the bill because so far I would have forked out £300-£500

Buy some kettle cleaning stuff and take it with you. We bought a pack of sachets from a Tesco near to Butlins Skegness the day after arrival. Mentioned this to customer service when we reported a dangerous iron which was instantly replaced. The sachets travelling with us have been so handy.

I found a stained bath, dented elevator and other things at Newquay travelodge during some alcohol event, didn't stay the night.

I stayed at the one in Southend once and got woken up at 3.30 in the morning. By someone banging on my room door asking me to open the door as they wanted to speak to me. I did not open the door. Shouted at them to F off and they eventually went. The next morning told the girl at reception what had happened and asked her if she would look at the CCTV footage to see who it was. She refused. When I got home I emailed Travelodge's head office about what had happened. Never got an apology. Never heard from them.

You said the shower was like a caravan. How very dare you!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I will have you know that when you next stay in one you will see how luxurious they are nowadays!! Totally agree about travel lodges though, they are dire!!! X

yeah i dont like travel lodge. the room basic- it like they are for worker who needs to be near their job and their company pay for- which is why it so expensive

Travelodge is ok, it’s clean and it does the job. Please stop complaining as there are worst hotels there for twice the price.

@@JJExtra there useless but if you got rid of them they would get complaints like: This hotel does not have a TV. Just get rid of the TV's guys. Nobody uses them You can't even watch anything good.

Evening who builds a hotel car park that people in flats use too🤯, also not being rude but that bed did not look big enough for you both and the shower was Josh bent in half to fit and his feet hang over the end of the bed 😂. I have never stayed in a travelodge and im not snobby but like you both said would like it to be a bit less basic. #staysafe

Two months ago, I paid £83 for 2 nights at the travelodge docklands central. The room was immaculate. I've stayed in about 50 altogether and have had very few issues.

I stayed in premier inn in wales and wow what a sh,t hole will never go back to premier inn TRAVELODGE ALL THE WAY a lot of the time you get what you pay for and if you only pay £50 a night don’t except the ritz
