Well, you forgot how to move these pieces, but the challenge didn't say that you couldn't move them randomly (conveniently albeit) so we can say that you randomly moved that queen and checkmated your opponent by mistake

@goblinkoma6 ай бұрын
pretty sure you just mistook the queen for a rook, making all moves legitimate
@mitchratka36616 ай бұрын
That's what I thought, he forgot how the queen moved, so he just used one of the movesets he knew which happened to work (which i guess means he could've moved bishops to capture one square diagonally since that's a pawn move)

You didn't remember how to move the queen again, you mouse slipped trying to move the rook but somehow it works
@danielhoang2896 ай бұрын
Yup totally! He meant to have his Rook jump over his Queen and take the enemy Queen!
@Shizuna5606 ай бұрын
By that logic, if you forgot how to move certain pieces. wouldn't looking how enemies move their pieces also make you remember how to move the very same pieces?
@ariflan6 ай бұрын
Yeah, the issue is he would only remember how Bishop moves
@T3n50r6 ай бұрын
@@ariflan That is still a pretty important thing to know how to move, especially seeing how his opponent didn't know how to move the horsey so he'd never learn how it moves throughout the game. The holy person is definitely an asset in this case.
@danielhoang2896 ай бұрын
That still doesn't help Simp's case here because the enemy queen never moved
@SourabhDas956 ай бұрын
This is actually a great challenge in and of itself: You've forgotten how to move all your pieces (and pawns, but only if you're black, otherwise the challenge is impossible). You relearn how to move each piece from your opponents movements, and each piece's movement only unlocks if your opponent demonstrates it during their turn, after which you are free to move all similar pieces in the manner demonstrated. - Queens and kings need to be taught vertical, horizontal and each diagonal movement seperately - You may only castle in the same direction your opponent castles in - Rooks need to learn horizontal and vertical movements seperately - Bishops need to learn positive and negative diagonals seperately - Pawns must learn how to move 1 square, move 2 squares, capture, capture by en passant, and promote seperately. You may also only promote if your opponent has promoted a piece already, and you can only choose to promote to a piece he has demonstrated a pawn can be promoted to.
@CaptainSpaceCat176 ай бұрын
@@danielhoang289 yeah but if he'd remembered how the bishop moves, the whole game would have gone differently since he would not have needed to sacrifice the bishop to the pawn halfway through. he probably could have won without using the queen
