Today's video, "Why We're Not Happy Anymore: A 2023 Perspective," delves into a topic that's close to my heart and, I believe, vital for our times. We're exploring why, in this modern age, the sources of joy we once knew seem to be fading away. But there's more to this than meets the eye.
👦 From a young age, I've always walked a path less traveled. I never quite fit into the conventional molds society set. Over time, I've come to realize that perhaps God has set apart a few of us for a special purpose. In this video, I'm sharing my perspective that our loss of joy in worldly things might not be a random occurrence, but a divine intervention.

They bring you pleasure and pain and you’re no better off than you were without them. In fact, life is much simpler and more content without them. Grew up poor and decided I would never live like that as an adult. Learned a trade and made great money, enough to have a house with a shop full of toys and hobbies. Realized one day I created my own prison of emptiness. Shifted focus, time, and money to living for God and it all changed. Everything else is fun for a season, but ultimately a pursuit of the wind as Solomon said. Thanks for this video

This really hit home. I've felt like this most of my life. I've wasted so much time trying to fit in. As I've gotten older and stopped trying to fit the mold most of my joy has returned. God bless you and your family. I know you don't really mean it to be but some of you videos are some of the best sermons I have ever heard! Keep up the good work.

Don’t ever wish to go back. Its ignorance is not bliss. Knowing the evil of the world and fighting it with the will of all that is right and just is what we need. We need soldiers of god and we need soldiers with focus and conviction. Break them from the shackles of ignorance, but don’t envy them. They don’t know the truth yet. Once they see the proverbial light will they know the world for what it is.

@@danc8458 It has changed beyond imagination but, as I told my family in 2019, this universal shift is going to last a decade. Great opportunity for my children to rise to the top. Not the best time to be a broken 57yo looking for work though. God’s plan, not mine. Onward.

Man Cody. I needed this today. I’ve been so incredibly down about not fitting in even at the age of 28. This morning I realized that as long as i walk with God and the Spirit abides in me I am never alone and I have more than I’ll ever need. I am one of the ones that just refuses the programming even when it would be so much easier to submit.

I've ran from these demons my whole life and never had a support system to keep me strong so I've been alone ( per say ) in this daily struggle ..I completely understand how difficult it is to keep sanity in check .We are going to NEED you youngins in this battle that is on the horizon. I followed his advice and still do, and have NEVER regretted it. @@MarkJones-sk6vk @MerpSquirrel summed it up. Personally, we have a homestead with goats, laying hens, meat chickens, turkeys, pigs, and some Great Pyrenees dogs. Second, we harvest deer, rabbit, and squirrel. Third, we have a few gardens and forage on our 10-acre property, which also has multiple wells for irrigation. Finally, we have a home library for our home schooling since information is becoming more digitized, centralized, and manipulated. The best to you, Mark Jones!

Brother you hit the nail on the head. My wife and I were talking about the same thing this morning. It's like we all waiting for something to happen and don't want to be distracted by unnecessary things and only focus on God and day to day responsibilities. I feel God just spoke to us all through you. The world is unraveling before our eyes and many time's I think we where we are to help others lost and in desperate need. Same with my wife and I. We have been getting right with each other and God as almost a second job, really another First job, for the last 2 1/2- 3 years. We are also losing some folks along the way..or maybe they are losing us.

I completely agree! When I am working towards the goals my wife and I have set to help us break free of the system and setup a future for our boys I feel joy and satisfaction. It is hard work, and sometimes it is only an hour or two in the evening after my corporate job, but each hour gets us closer to breaking free from the shackles of the corporate 8 to 5 treadmill and making a life and living off our own land. Set a goal, work hard, and pray even harder! Thanks Cody for the encouragement!

In September I had cancer. I had on operation. No need for chemo. Best of all, I was not afraid. I was even ready to stop living in this world. So, now I am back to work. Telling ppl about Jesus. Then I come home and I am waiting for Jesus. Reading my bible, looking KZfaq some Info, praying for Israel, family and neighbors. It is all so surreal...so will the rapture be. I feel this so strongly, that yesterday I felt like giving up. I have lost so much and have no desire to do anything. My faith was all but gone. The worst thoughts and ideas poured through me with anger and rage but ultimately I felt completley powerless. I was hanging on by a thread. I was led to a video on stoic philosophy and felt like the father was speaking directly to me. In tears I realised I have not been forsaken but rather chosen. I do not know what I'm supposed to do but I have faith that I will be guided. I woke up this morning and this video was waiting for me. God bless you brother. I believe you are a true messenger and you are doing his will. I won't give up. Thank you and I love you, may you and your family continue to receive all of the father's blessings.

Beautifully said, brother. I’m an outlier, too, wandering on the periphery of life, always on the curb, a stray dog, unwanted, unwelcome, looking in the windows while happy families exchange gifts, joy, and love. I have always felt a “calling” like the sound of a faraway train whistle, echoing down a canyon. I never knew what I was destined to do until my life was completely shattered two years ago. I’m watching everything I have worked for disintegrating and falling away from me. All my hopes, dreams, ideals have been shredded and through the pain and grief of all the loss, something wonderful is emerging... like a chrysalis splitting open and a majestic creation is struggling to burst forth. The pain is unbelievable, but with it, clarity emerges, a new vision, the truth of my life and existence, and a newfound and powerful friendship has exploded - the awareness of the magnificent Holy Spirit! What a thrilling time we live in! As Don Potter’s lyrics state in the song, “Come, Come, Come” ... “You were made for this time...”

I'm a follower of Jesus and was saved in 1971. I retired 3 yrs ago moved with my husband to fl. Planned to start my own Art business but since then I have grown separated from the idea. Now in the last month I've grown less and less interested to even paint at all . But have gone back to really studying the word. My husband of 41 yrs is unsaved. I wake up in the wee hrs praying for him and others but having a sense that there is more. And so as I look for guidance in these "last hours" thank you for this video. I now see I'm not the only one.

Having dealt with depression, or possibly a form of suppression, for half my life, I find relief in thanking God for the roof over my head, for my wife and family, for my health, to still feel pain, and enjoy the sunset and the rain, and even the less obvious things like that I CAN work, that I’m not incapacitated in some way, that I can still help people. I thank God in all things. Thanks for the video kind sir! 🎉

Cody my brother in Christ. This message really hit home today. And on so many levels. On the problems with school and friends and not fitting in. And the general loss of interest in things I enjoy. And most importantly about preparing our hearts minds and food supplies for the times to come. I wholeheartedly agree with you that now is the time to focus and search for what god has planned for each of us. Embrace the changes that are happening my friend. It was definitely the case for me. Spent years searching, never fit in. Even in school was always a loner. Never popular, never wanted to be. As a young man, tried all the usuals to distract me, wasn’t until I had children that I started to grow up. When I got saved, the Lord immediately let me know I was to preach. I always thought preachers were pretty sissy boy types. I was rough and tumble, grew up hard, and didn’t want no part of it. Ran from it for a year, until eventually I just couldn’t run anymore. I didn’t know exactly what God wanted me to do, but I know I had to preach. Now all these years later, been at it for near 20 years, and I burn to do what God wants me to do far more now than ever! The day is late, the night soon comes. Only one life and will soon be past, Only that done for Christ shall last.

I find more passion from reading the Word of God. I spend a great deal of time with the Lord in the morning. I cannot wait to spend that time with Him. And, nothing else takes His place with me. I believe that is where joy will be found. Nothing else will do!

As the Body of Christ we are to occupy the time while awaiting His return and have been entrusted the Ministry of Reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18. Essentially that is what the Gospel is all about and the apostles lived and died for it. This is what gets me excited, being able to talk about Jesus more than whatever I was distracted with in the past.

This really hit home. I lost my dad in January, it was devastating. I lost a lot of passion for work, struggled with motivation. My tacoma has issues, needed to buy another vehicle(didnt want to), hurting my monthly budget. Trying to get better, thankfully have a great family that supports me!

Yep, I am one of those people. Even in 8th grade I refused to do a required write-up because they were manipulating us to go against my Faith in God’s Truth. The principal, disciplinarian, and some lady I never seen before, forced me into a meeting and asked me questions. I disagreed with the assignment and did not bend. They called my parents and I explained to my parents, and they were proud of me for not falling to deception. ♥✞♥

Now I feel this urge to prepare and focus on things that are right in front of me. Been trying to get everyone I care about on board but its up to them ultimately. I have found that reading scripture has helped me, I have put all my worries in God's hands, I've done this for the past 3 years. I have found myself spending more time alone. I am content at this time in my life, but I can feel things are changing in my lifestyle. We must look to God to guide us through what is happening in the world. Be strong in faith and lookout for each other.

There is a HUGE difference in hearing the call of duty, and answering the call. You put it perfectly Cody with "resistant to programming" it's important to be aware of when things don't seem right. Especially when you know in your heart God has plans for you, and you will know whats right for you. The biggest challenge for alot of us is not only hearing that call- but to answer to it and acting accordingly when you do. That will absolutely dictate the future of our lives and our everlasting souls.

Things that used to give me joy seem unimportant now. TV, the news, music, etc... Hell, I even gave up drinking alcohol back in June because it made me quarrelsome with one of my sons. I simply quit, no program, no nothing, and I don't miss it except when my arthritis is bad, but who cares, it's a small price to pay for improved relations with my sons. Lately, all my time and energy goes toward helping my sons move forward in life and remaining connected with God. I get more pleasure from just doing chores ,(fixing stuff) and getting ready for hard times. I am oddly at peace even though I know things are going to deteriorate. I'm homeless and I sleep in my car. I do have a job and it's been this way for almost 10 years. I've never felt mi am blessed to be able to wake up everyday and work. I am blessed because I am able to enjoy life.

Lost my dad when I was early 20's. My dad had a lot of wisdom and was an honourable man of God. Cody is a real man, is like a surrogate dadwho passes wisdom on to young men who need somebody to look up to. It is impossible for a mother to raise a boy into a man.

Of all of your videos that you have posted. This one has been the most to me. I have been struggling with the exact same thing and didn't know what the problem was. I think you really hit the nail on the head and the fact that God is trying to take away our distractions and really focus on what is coming. Not many people in my life even understand the way I feel about how things are going to come about, but I do truly believe now that you have the same feelings I do. As we can both ask let Jesus come soon

Nehemiah dealt with this feeling. His country lay in ruin, and he was heartbroken over it! So much so he was noticeably sad. Which was dangerous in the presence of the King. Psalm 37 is where I go when I feel gloom about the enemy. But I agree. It's some type of grieving that is taking place in God people that is deep and unfamiliar Hold fast Cody❤

You nailed it! Im full of goosebumps! I've been going through the same thing, I was saved only 4 months ago and i've been walking the narrow road while neglecting so many hobbies i used to do. God is isn't playing around with not knowing him, I don't experience that crazy joy i once did with all of my outdoor hobbies. Fire Video!

I was exactly that way in school. It was very rare any teacher or curriculum stimulated me enough to have me engaged. I always questioned the lesson and the "authority" teaching only what they have learned, or to simply reciprocate without a sense of value and perspicacity. Only taught just because, it was what was to be given through an approval of the board. I found more lessons in fishing, guitar and archery than I ever could in any class or program.

Yes, when the Covid shutdown occurred, and we almost lost our daughter, 6 months in ICU and ECMO with less than a 10% chance of survival, it totally changed my focus and perspective.

I have always "resisted the programming". I grew up in a leftist, single-mother/step-father later household. Luckily I was not turned as I could see right through the BS. Walked my own path for my entire life and am happier for it. 6yrs ago I was able to get clean and really find the drive and meaning in my life. Things are good every day now.

I have almost the exact same story. It took me nearly 40 years to philosophize things and reengineer the things we should have been taught years ago. We may have started later but there is wisdom in those experiences that we can give to our communities now.

I’ve had the thrill of intentionally getting RID of all the STUFF of “the American Dream”. I love the simplicity of just me with Jesus & the family of God. There is MUCH joy in letting go & resting in God. Jesus is coming soon & everything is being fulfilled as Scripture says! You’re right, but it’s NOT a bummer; it’s a blessing!
