Fellow Jack-O player here. Had a similar experience of learning slowly but surely. After fighting a Gio player constantly in the 7th floor, I learned to efficiently use Jack-O's move where she crouches and sends her leg tied to the chain straight upwards to stop Gio's crossups. I was able to turn the tide and ended up winning more matches overall against this player.

Have you tried Sol 2HS? It has a big hit box and it’s out for a good amount of time. The only thing is that you have to do it preemptively since it doesn’t have any invulnerability and it’s a bit slow on start up.

For me the big thing is learning that you can punish her when she does the zig zig dog as i call it (2.6.k i think) That helped me a lot Also, i just find that they normally have just a plan, they always do the same rotation on pressure and wakeup so i just abuse that Gio players are normally, in my experience, not very flexible in their gameplan Also in Sol i strugle less then when im playing Nago, Sol just has better close buttons

@@filipepires9860 hmm, well i've been playing this game for awhile and it's incredibly rare for anyone to punish me doing 236k, spiral arrow. she can cancel it from any normal, so if people expect you to do it after 5h, you'll get hit. if you do it anywhere else it's a gamble where you can eat a huge combo. not saying it's a bad idea or anything, but it's not the answer to the match up or anything.

@@AchedSphinx Maybe I explained myself poorly I can interrupt, with 6P, before the hit connects (as sol at least) It's not a big punish or anything, it's just a get off me tool that helps me reset the neutral I still find the matchup hard and theres a lot of other things that I need to work on, like blocking more in certain ranges because your far slash is basically Fullscreen :p But I would say I used to block 100% of the time before and couldn't see an opening, and now I have one consistent. The second one is getting used and confortably air grab people, really has been helping me with Gio, Milia (harder since she has 6M dashes in the air), and Pot wake up backwards megafist And third, 5k is a blessing on sol, and you basically can't do the jumping crossing up move (I can't for shit understand how you write inputs for this game, but 234.s I think) if I'm ready for it Then again, isn't a big deal, just helped me personally a lot having a breathing time after the spiral dog

I need to use P and K way more often as Ram in general, 6P notwithstanding. I've formed a bad habit of only using Slashes and Heavies.

@@JulieLamia same! S and H are so big and fun to use but I found that 2S is actually pretty good and 5P combos into 2D which is great!

I think its mostly cause 2d whiffs sometimes at longer ranges and 6h probably doesnt

@@TheCajanator okay yeah, but if you do the thing he said to counter it 6h is -22 and it can't be special cancelled. so if he doesn't have meter, he'll just eat the opponent's fattest combo. 2d is shorter range, but it's safer on block.

@@AchedSphinx He said he buffers it as an OS. If it's blocked, 6H doesn't come out. If it connects it cancels into 6H. It seems fairly consistent and safe.

@@Xiaounlimited the OS is on 2k whiff. if 2k whiffs 6h won't come out. if 2k hits or is blocked 6h will come out.

acquireTigris has a good video on his channel on how to kara better with gamepads, but I usually straighten out my thumb and put the base of it at K and then roll onto P

I switched to stick for Pot, I can’t do it on pad either

I recommend changing your button layout to have square = P and R1 = K it helps a lot
