I don’t love the idea that (according to you) a man making an “effort” - to present as a woman - is well within his right, to call himself as lesbian. He’s a MAN, he can NEVER be a woman/lesbian. There comes a point, when you must decide whether you want to entertain delu$ion - for the sake of being kind - at the risk of losing everything... or stand on the side of reality and preserve our identity/spaces.

God knows. I came out at 14 in 2004, I’ve never been this obsessed with my sexuality. Everything...EVERYTHING eventually becomes corrupted by bad actors. There was a time when kids could play outside unsupervised. A time when houses didn't need locks. A time when medicines didn't need tampering seals. But the lax attitude was welcoming to those wanting to do harm. But that doesn't make those situations innately wrong.

@Milk Dud if you are implying that the majority of trans women are attracted to men, i.e., homosexual transsexuals, you are dead wrong. In 2010, Blanchard estimated that it was about a 75/25 split, with the 25 being HSTS. Now, it’s even less.

Recently been caused of invalidating trans and nonbinary people and their experiences. What really gets my goat is that I personally see them as people first and foremost, their sexuality and gender identity are perhaps the last thing that are on my mind, as that is not why I am around them in the first place. I just find the whole community thing to be more cult like than for actual support for people in general struggling with gender and sexuality issues. I understand much of what they go through and those I've talked to and interacted with have one thing in common in that many grew up in a narcissistic or cult like environment and seriously hate being taken advantage of by those who have something to gain from it. So have set up boundaries for the sole reason of growing up not having them and when those go up they get a lot of hate but sometimes if taken to the extreme end up on the other extreme where their boundaries are too high where they pretty much shut out anyone and everyone who so much as toes the line, creating an air of resentment towards not just that individual but to an entire community even. And that's what we're seeing more and more of today.

It's like the colleges became so full in the 2000s that people started just making ish up to fill thesis pages. And then with academic legitimacy people thoight these theories were real and "capitalists" used these ideas to sell airtime and armchair psychologists picked up these terms and took them as gospel. I mean on one hand it makes sense because you can only write about so many topics before there's nothing new to say, but now it's gotten a bit ouroborosic.

Crossdressing is not necessarily a fetish. It can be, but the term encompasses a lot more people than the ones who do it for a fetish. Crossdressing is just dressing up as the opposite sex - not really going deeper into the reason why they dress as such.

I agree cross dressing is not always a fetish. Some men just like to wear women's clothing. It depends on how far they go, like if they do the hormones and surgery then their masquerading as a woman and it becomes a fetish.

It really is a shame, because, as I've gone through my gender transition, I have come to realize that AGP's are not "fake trans," they are just dealing with different issues. If they ghettoize all conversation about AGP, they will push people who have a perfectly valid erotic fetish, into making irreversible, painful, and destructive life choices. I can't get over the number of trans women I know who destroyed their families over transition. It's one thing if the male role is a source of constant pain, but if your femininity can be put away in the drawer with your sex toys, then don't push a person like that to transition. Reddit makes people feel like that's not valid, only totally lifestyle reversal is acceptable, and that's not fair.

Honestly it's more than a fetish, it is an orientation unto itself. I'm an agp male and I feel like I've been tricked by trans-activists and my own friend group into believing that I'm a woman. I have gone into lesbian dating apps and set up a profile but I realize now how creepy it was to do so. I am now in a relationship with another agp male. I believe that womans rights need to be protected and It's really disturbing how many of those in my social group misunderstand transexuality. Many of my aquaintances are agp males and while none of them are not actively trying to date biological women, they still show all the tell-tale signs of being agp, but my cis friend group cannot identify that, nor will they be able to change their minds because of their ideology (radical leftist) I think that if there were more people who could present these ideas in a positive way to many people on the left, we could all reaize that it's okay to have a kinky life-style without it hurting biological women, and make sure those who are agp understand the boundries and accept that biological women have the right to deny them on that basis, Most of the agp males I know take concent very serioiusly, it's those who are on twitter I've seen who take things to the extreme. If I ever seen another agp male engage in disturbing behavior or hold creepy views on lesbians I will always reach out to them to explain why it is perfectly reasonable for biological women to not want anything to do with them.

Arielle seems to be quite confused about autogynephilia. She seems to think that, if you pass well enough, that means you’re not AGP, when in fact, as far as AGPs go, the more they do to alter their appearance and the way they live their lives(medically transitioning and leaving their family, for example), the MORE autogynephilic they are than someone like the guy in this video, or you. I don’t know anything about the person sitting next to Arielle, but I would not be surprised at all if they are an autogynephile, and maybe they don’t even realize it. As far as trans women go, the split is about 80/20, AGP/HSTS. With all of the pornography very young boys are exposed to nowadays, combined with the cultural acceptance of trans, AGPs are transitioning younger and younger, so they are able to pass far better than AGPs of the past, who usually didn’t transition until they were in their late 40’s at least. By doing this video, Arielle certainly isn’t helping women; she’s pushing a false narrative that if you transition, that means you’re not an autogynephile. It’s ridiculous.

I think Blanchard is trash, but he has a very important quote at 2:11: "Autogynephilia and transsexualism are NOT mutually exclusive." Saying someone is AGP in no way implies that they are not trans. If you have AGP, and experience gender dysphoria and feel like you'd have a happier life if you were a woman, you're trans. Too many trans women use AGP as a way to cop out of starting their transition. (Only to regret it later)

@@jdoe834 Ann Lawrence is for trying to identify males with severe AGP who would benefit from transition (not sure how that would be figured out).... and assisting them to delay/minimize masculinization the same as severely gender dysphoric HSTS males. Either should be recognized for SRS being greatly beneficial for their quality of life. But.... that would take some serious self knowledge and acceptance and transparency. I think as she looked back on her life, after she transitioned, she felt it would have made her life infinitely better. And... the AGP isn't a factor anymore after medical transition.

I see this a lot in roleplaying games and online stuff. I'll know someone that identifies as their born gender. They don't in any way act like the opposite sex. They'll get obsessed with a game where their avatar is the opposite gender, focus a lot on lesbian or gay sex in the game. After years of it, their main focus on the game is lesbian/gay sex instead of what the actual game is for... and they'll start saying they are transgender but still act, look, dress irl etc like their born gender. And it seems a lot more like a fantasy for rping gay sex. But also you can't say anything or point this out or people will get mad.

Nobody should be rushed into medical decisions. But the real issue here is informed consent. The WPATH standards of care make many recommendations regarding verification of gender dysphoria and minimum ages for hormones and surgery. But there is nobody enforcing the standards of care. You can walk into Planned Parenthood, tell them you're transgender, answer a simple questionnaire to demonstrate that you understand what hormones will do to your body, and get HRT. Even if you have major red flags that any competent psychological professional would want to address before considering endorsement for HRT.

In a sane society, he'd just look for a GF who has a fetish for feminization and cross dressing... they exist. Then they can have fun together. He's a good looking guy. Also, why do people think one must be gay to do crossdressing and drag these days? He could have a lot of fun in drag, or going to conventions in cosplay. He just needs to find where it's ok to express this side of himself so that he can connect with others who are into it. MG, I'm a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fan, and you should see all the fanart of the more bara characters in women's lingerie and sexy feminine costumes and high heels and dresses and such... a lot of it drawn by women. Agreed. I think this whole self love, obsession with identity and social media is literally making many of us into depressed people who develop narcissistic tendencies. We are the most privileged and yet most depressed people in the USA. Mental illness abounds. Simply we have too much time on our hands to obsess on the superficial. I don’t believe the answer is to love yourself more, maybe the answer is to stop obsessing about ourselves, and instead focus on what we can do outside of us. Like giving back to the world with our abilities, helping the less fortunate and investing quality time in our own household members. I’m also a believer (Christian) and Jesus tells me in the Bible to “deny myself” and that means to me a common sense approach to not being self obsessed. We can’t look to the cause of our issues as the solution, it makes no sense.

With old rp in the writers world, we had a lot of people coming into the RP community not even caring about their character/writing but more so getting straight to the smut. Which I understand but yeah, a lot of the time we are female being make characters and vis versa. It can get very immersive and addicting. But a lot of the time you do form relationships with these other writers and RP’ers. And I can imagine it being a problem in someone’s life. It can easily take over and become dysphoria. I can definitely say around this time it really triggered a part of me that made me think wow, “would I be happier if I was a male satisfying a female?” But here it’s somewhat different. I think in this philia it’s sexual arousal at the thought of you being the opposite like your genitalia. Not necessarily being the opposite and getting fucked and fucked with**** very different. This philia is more of the idea of being sexually aroused at the idea of yourself being THAT body type you know? It’s different when you’re roleplaying and enjoying the idea of being a girl when you’re not, and a guy when you’re not or a dog when you’re not or ….you know?? Hope that explains it better

There are interviews with wives of these AGPs. Rod Fleming has excellent empathic insight into both types of trans women. The entire reason so many deny AGP exists is precisely because they believe they won't be seen as trans. I believe the stats are 80% of trans women have AGP and 80% of men with AGP don't transition. So the total number with AGP is much higher than just those who transition. Benjamin Boyce has a few good interviews with some. Anne Lawrence is a trans doctor with AGP who has written extensively about it under Blanchard's guidance. The reason some TRAs are so odious is they are narcissists.

I think people are doing a disservice to them by insisting that they are actually trans when I don't think that is the issue they face. Not to say that they don't experience gender dysphoria, because I believe they do, but not in the same way an actual trans person would. I don't think transitioning, or identifying as women, is really what they need to satisfy their needs and desires. I wish that transgenderism wasn't such a contentious topic these days, because otherwise honest and unbiased research could be done to figure out the best way to help these guys satisfy these needs, but it seems that transitioning is the band-aid for every case of gender dysphoria these days. In reality it is only further perpetuating the issue instead of actually addressing it. These guys need a sex worker or an understanding partner far more than they need hormones.

@@silentstarlight3322 You are based as hell, Kate P. Please don't take this post as trying to start a fight, I just wanted to comment on one aspect of your post. I don't disagree with you at all, you have obviously been doing research and introspection, which, to me, is a sign that you have been looking for answers, not seeking excuses to make your own 'choices.' I think that is one of the truths of an HSTS, we seek to know what is going on inside us, because we have the dilemma of knowing it's not normal, while knowing it's not going away. I hesitate to call AGP's "fake" or "not real," though, because their situation is real, and shaming them with negative language is part of the reason they are causing so many problems. We feel like being HSTS is unavoidable nature, while AGP is an act of will. I'm not convinced they have a choice. No one minds the furries because generally they limit their fetishistic expression to places where appropriate, while AGP's feel they must inhabit a woman's social space in the real world to be 'legitimate.' I personally would rather the gamestop tranny got all dolled up at home and jerked it, than going into a store and guy-raging on store employees. Social pressure to be female/trans instead of being comfortable with your fetishes is not good for anyone. I really think we should try to normalize AGP as what it is, a legit fetish. Personally, I have gone back to describing my self as transsexual, not transgender, because there is a valuable specificity there. I'd use "HSTS," but no one has a clue what that means. In fact, my whole point here is probably too esoteric for the majority of people, but I hope we can find some way to solve this problem of lumping so many different types of people together. I sense an uncomfortable crossover with AGPs and the transgender experience. It sounds like if a man with a beard and a crop top over his moobs merely SAID that sometimes he feels dysphoric you wouldn't be having this conversation. Your emphasis on these people not trying to present some femininity also gives an easy way for AGPs to prove to you that they are genuine, transwomen. Because how would we know otherwise? Display enough femininity and you're no longer an AGP? This is where it starts to get blurred, and feelings start to get hurt.

@@mmontes15 Another thing to add on to Lalogue's comment is that hormones can trigger new hair growth anyway (idk if it's creating new folicles or revitalizing the old ones though? i'm guessing the former). Pregnant women often see basically a reversal of the laser hair removal because of the surge in hormones. As well as certain colors don't see great results, for example if you have pale skin and blonde hair it's a lot less effective than pale skin with black hair.

@@mmontes15 Electrolysis is not one hundred percent effective at removing all hair permanently. It is still highly efficient, just not as much so as laser hair removal. Both kinds of treatments are painful, and require multiple visits. I suspect there are a lot of reasons why trans people could be resentful and confused biology and psychology are both extremely complex subjects and I suspect both are having different effects on the different people.

@Milk Dud do they go on gay or trans dating sites much? I have never heard any of the gay blokes I know even mention it. They don’t seem to have the same problems getting a date as the lesbians, trans and even straight people I know so perhaps the signal to noise ratio is just a lot higher? I do remember it was a thing in high school but the girls (as far as I know) never did anything about it. Dressing up in a suit or something to appeal to gay men also wouldn’t necessarily be as noticeable in society as a straight man wearing makeup and dresses or whatever to try to pick up lesbians. It may be noticeable online but there are some very feminine guys out there. I never used a dating site I have been married longer than they have really been popular and I am a straight male so I have only what my friends talk about to go on from a personal level. I am friends with a fair few lesbians and they have talked about people who purported to be trans women but who pretty obviously hadn’t done much to transition being fairly aggressive online. I used to be security for a gay and lesbian club and we did get drunk straight women either trying to sneak in (it was open to everyone who wasn’t intoxicated) or getting really offended because a gay bloke didn’t want to date her. So I know some women want to they just weren’t subtle about it.

I think I get Auto-gynophelia. My experience of being a man (and in particular: ADHD and hypersexual) is something like -- I'm always horny, I feel intense sexual desire all of the time, and I'm constantly feared or rejected by women, and always have to prove my merit in the room. The idea that I could then *be* a woman, and not be "tagged" as this creep and pervert all of the time, has ENORMOUS appeal, because the one thing that is the source of most of my frustrations and sadness would be gone. So I can totally imagine a head-space for men, wherein a man falls in love with the idea of becoming a woman. It'd be like the infinite pass -- the pressure gone, the sexual access granted. I've met so many men in my life who have confided to me, "I wish I were sexually objectified." Women are often surprised to hear this, but I totally understand it. The opposite of being "sexually objectified" is always having to prove sexual worthiness, of having negative default sexual value, and having to go through enormous hurdles in order to be seen as worthy of sexual connection. From this angle, to be "sexually objectified" is to reach the goal, but for free. It's s short hop to auto-gynophelia, because it suggests a solution to all sexual problems: become a woman.

you need to research homosexual transexuals (hsts). gay men performing stereotypes and caricatures of what they perceive to be female behaviour/looks are no more women or female than agp males are. to suggest that jonna is somehow a woman because he mimics feminity is offensive and degrading to actual women. only those born as girls can become women anything else is stereotype and mimicry and based in absolute misogyny. take a look at some of magdaline berns videos. she was a lesbian who understood that no man can ever become a woman no matter how much surgery he has or make up he wears. cross-dressers, drag queens and guys who make no effort to look like women but say they are women, are all considered to be "women" under the trans umbrella. this is eroding the very definition of what a woman is, and is especially true for lesbian women who are now fending off straight males who say they are lesbians and have a "girl dick". jonna may be a decent person and is absolutely deserving of rights but he is not a woman. at least the guy in the video could be honest about who he was
