You can tell by the dedication on the side of this 1958 John Deere 620 that this tractor carries special meaning. It used to belong to Estel Theis of Missouri who passed away in 2010. Estel was a long time collector and restore of John Deere tractors. Estel’s grandson talks about his grandfathers passion for John Deere tractors and gives the history on his 1958 John Deere 620.

this reminds me when i restored my grandfathers Schluter 550 Super, i received it from my grandfather as payment for helping on the farm and i restored it back to its original condition and i drove that old German tractor 3 kilometers on a Canadian back road to my grand fathers house and the looks on his face...i will never forget. nothing but joy

My old man owns a 57 620 with the power steering option and the wheels set wide in the front, I’m not educated in it but I love it and I’m 16, while my old man is also a 57 model

Mr. Theis did an excellent job on the 620 restoration. I believe I'd have trouble putting his collection up for sale too. Stay safe.

Awesome tractor! My one Aunt past down to me her parents 1974 John Deere 110 garden tractor which it came with a 42 inch mower deck that I restored last summer and also it came with the original sale bill! Also it looks really good sitting beside my 2004 John Deere X575 4x4 super garden tractor!

Too bad he had to buy it. I had to buy my great grandpas Minneapolis when the family had the auction. I sure hope that when I pass on that if one of my kids or grandkids has a genuine interest in my stuff that the rest of the family gives it to them!

I see the old horizontal engine on this tractor. It has the unmistakable John Deere sound. I remember starting the rod nuts on my Grandpa's tractor. His hands were too big to get into the engine. Since I was about 12, I started them easily. My first mechanic job! He finished up the rod and ring job, and it never used any oil after that. I spent many hours on that old John Deere plowing cotton and corn.
