Hey legend, i don't use a loop knot of my big baits or many baits at all for barramundi. I use a uni knot to solid ring to split ring to lure

The downside to that lake Dean, is whenever the next flood is, all those big girls will be on their way down to Rocky. Because there hasn't been any ongoing barra fingerling release programs, it'll take years after the event before that type of fishing will be able to be replicated. But for now your exposure has raised awareness of what you can catch in Fairbairn for the moment 👌

I have heard they are still stocking it currently and I know some people catching what they call rats at around 70-80cm but yes it does need some heavy stocking to ensure it has a wide range of fish sizes to deal with any bug natural event like a flood or a chill.

@DeanSilvester that would explain that smaller one that Tommy W caught, if they did a more recent restocking. If they get a bit more proactive with it, I'd be happy to do the 4 hr drive and give them a hand. With the exposure that you've given, plus Tommy's video, I think it would be in their best interest to crank it up a bit, who knows, Fairbairn could end up on the ABT circuit, stranger things have happened.

I got to this lake thisarv, camping a few nights and going to do some fishing not much experience with impoundment fishing and no live scope so with the dirty water not expecting much just good to get out in the water
