Mistake: the Keyboard is can be charged when attached to the laptop. Per Asus: ※ The keyboard can be charged through POGO PIN and USB-C interface.

Hey Ben, assume I have the i9-14900hx and 32GB ram on a legion pro 5i, will the rtx 4070 result in a huge performance difference over the 4060 on AE, Blender or Resolve? Assuming vram isn't the bottleneck.

I picked one of these up a few weeks ago (Ultra 9), and so far, it's genuinely my favorite laptop ever. It's unfortunate that the design makes it quite difficult to access the internals, but hopefully a future version figures out a way to remedy that. Everything about it is useful to someone who can make use of two screens at the performance specs it offers, and it's very well-built to boot. Nothing about it feels gimmicky to me, except maybe that I don't see the pen being that useful here. (A nice unexpected perk, though, is that the kickstand is handy even in single-screen, traditional laptop mode. Makes it nice to use laying down, without smothering airflow / resting a warm chassis directly against yourself.) We really need to see more laptops using this design going forward - I don't think two screens can be done better, personally.

A longer cable to charge the keyboard is not included, because, when connected to the laptop, the keyboard also charged through the magnetic part. The small cable is just for the pen :) The keyboard can be charged separately when is not connected to the second screen through usb type c. I guess the one from the pen also works fine if the socket is on the desk :) if not definitely a longer cable is recommended :)

Doesn't the keyboard charge while attached to the laptop via the POGO pins? No need to charge separately.

Yes, it does charge while connected to the second screen :)

Will you be posting a Legion 7i review soon? I'm deciding between that and the 2024 Pro 5i. Build quality and display aside, both of the laptops are pretty identical.

i bought the pro 5i a week ago, still not arrived but i can say for sure that the pro 5i is better than 7i, only difference is 7i is more slimmer and has less space for air to flow. pro 5i is 2.4kg btw so yeah its heavy

So no GPU yet performance is top notch. Very interesting beast. The only thing I'm worried of - is it's such a unique gadget...with that rechargeable keyboard, that I feel like it's battery life is gonna drop after 1-2 years of usage. It's like having electronic rear mirrors in your car. Better to fold them manually, as all this sophistication can go against us down the road...

I see that XOTIC offers upgrading the SSD and I imagine they get a model from Asus and open the device up to do it. Would you say it's worth it? Because people who got this laptop say the built-in SSD is slow, also it's only 1TB. I also wonder what's the right way to get it to have the *Pro* edition of *Windows 11*. Asus says they recommend but what they sell is only *Home* and no apparent official way to upgrade it.

I two of these laptops duo ultra 7 and ultra 9, but weird on both I get 7-8 hours with single screen use, but 12-13 hours using 2 screens, not sure why the single screen use has worse batterylife. I tested battery life many times on both real world use of browser and emails. Any comments or suggestions?

I thought the keyboard has a physical pin connection (that also charges it) and automatically switches to Bluetooth when taken out...

Yes! Even Edge browser was crashing all the time! And I have Downloaded HWInfo to check and all the time it hit 95°c in normal tasks...
