Hi Richie a good video as always we are the same down here on Teesside lots of birds missing all go over the top like yours all coming back on too us won the club on the trap but not too good in the fed were 12 missing out of 55 were coming in 1 all afternoon how many did you send how many missing mate

Right lads , first of all the result it was a total trapping match with 20 seconds splitting the first 20 in the fed , I estimate somewhere in the middle maybe 8th fed but the shields fed have flew a great race and all 20 will be in the top 40 of the section from 4-5000 birds . Now for the returns , I’ve just left the loft and we are still waiting on 15 , we were 35 missing when we went with the clocks and it’s been painful for the last 5 hrs it’s been on average 1 bird an hour , hopefully a couple more will work in tonight and then hopefully a handful tomorrow to avoid a disaster , pretty much everyone in the fed are between 10-20 missing so there is a lot of birds missing

Good day Richy if you don't mind me calling you that. I'm trying to visualise your young bird loft face south dose it not. If so that wind looks wsw to me pushing the birds to the coast. But the most important thing is that the first two birds maybe not be to far out. And the rest will work back. See you in 2 week's time and hopefully 9 of September you will get a Lib with no wind can't wait. Cheers mate 👍

You know Eddie they done 76mph and the forecast was ssw but by 2pm the clouds were practically blowing straight west , I think sometimes the wind is even variable depending what height you are at , so judging by the speed ssw makes sense but your not wrong there was certainly west in it , you know the strangest thing of all was even at 4pm the odd bird we were getting were coming from the south so work that out ? , very strange but one thing we can all be sure of is winds that strong are certainly no good for ybs 👍

Thanks rob I think the biggest problem is there in Scotland so they now have to miss them batches , they just don’t work in like they used to years ago , but thank you and il try my best to switch off 🤣

Same here in oz mate , i detest fast tail wind days we always suffer big losses , give me a light header any day it seems to keep them on track and builds condition in prep for a longer fly ... here in oz we fly ybs to 700mile , they need steady conditioning. ... just a few minutes into the vid so I'll keep watching/waiting with you 👍

If we have a season of comfortable velocities and then cop a hard one we lose pigeons also that are not genetically equiped or under conditioned , its a tough gig but crikey i wish i could trap pigeons like you do despite last weeks 65 second fiascoo .. top pigeon men in my book !

I would say the average is 50% missing in the town which is horrific, there still working in Rob so I just hope they keep coming 🤞

I understand a few pairs of lanner X peregrine's are flying in the wild around sunderland.the word was that a breeder has released a few pairs.if you think hawks are trouble this cross of falcon will be devastating.

peregrines are horrific , have a watch at how our birds trap as yearlings and you will see we don’t need a whistle , this is all just educating the babies , also we have neighbours so a whistle is out the question 👍

I got my nephew to set the video up for today and then Thursday morning when me dad went in they were riddled with fat eye so he didn’t send , hopefully get them all ready for next week 🤞
