It's possible that Tifa, Barret, Red and Aerith died in Zack's timeline at the end of Remake. We are not seeing how Shinra is taking Cloud's body because he's with Zack (remember the first trailer of Rebirth). Without Tifa in Zack's timeline anymore, Cloud will never regain his original personality. That's why we can see a scene of Cloud joining the Reunion at the end of this trailer (before the Tifa scene).

I think we end this at the Crater. Start part 3 in Junon.

It starts with the flashback and ends at the northern crater. The first part is part of Zack's timeline where everyone is dead except Zack and Cloud.

I dont think so, Zack being Alive with nothing to do is pointless. I think the point is that the crew is hurt and captured by shinra, and its up to zack to save them, especially that aerith is with the crew. Zacks timeline is when cloud is just in a vegetable state, plus we can see him in the northern crater saying reunion. It must be the ultimate mission of zack, to save cloud from being controlled by sephiroth.

For me it's quite obvious that the curtain that will hide what's behind on this game wil be the frictions between the party, those who played og will know what I am refering to after the dialogs on the trailer, kinda looks like we will play Zack (I hope for not too long), anyone that has played the OG know there are only 2 ending spots for this game unless story totally changes, but it kinda looks like it doesn't aside from Zacks timeline. Btw I am not sure if anyone else realize, but when fighting in Junon Barret Cloud and Red are in the party, but Aerith is in the background aswell which kinda makes me think we will have a phs sorta like in FFX for those who have played it, unsure if you can switch to those outside the party within battle or just while you're not doing it in the world map.

The first scene is probably from Zack's timeline. The party died. It was heavily hinted at the end of the Yuffie DLC.

Yup and I think we have just one timeline now and this is the way of making sure we don't have copies of our gang running around. I think they died fighting on the Expressway and this Cloud will go with Sephiroth becoming part of Reunion as we don't see Cloud dead.

This is gonna be special and huge! So Kalm, flashback, Chocobo ranch, midgar Zolom serpent, mythril mines, maybe fort Condor, Junon, boat to Costa del Sol, north Corel, Gold Saucer, Cosmo Canyon, Nibelheim 🤯 I believe the area we see Cloud and Red running alongside those massive pipes might be the prison we drop to after Gold Saucer

In the original it was told that Zangan recovered Tifa while Cloud was taking out Sephiroth if you all recall. I know a lot of people forgot that bit because it was pretty brief and in some ways only hinted at, but yea... So Im kinda wondering if that's still going to happen, or if the devs truly decided to go a darker route. Then again, this is a completely different timeline, multiple in fact, so who knows what they'll do, that's the beauty tho.

I hope Zangan will get a bigger role in Remake. I know there was a scene with him that was cut from the OG game -- you were supposed to be able to find him in Nibelheim, and there he revealed both that he was the one who saved Tifa and also that Shinra had been systematically silencing all Nibelheim survivors... I'd also like to have a boss fight against Zangan. Like, as the final opponent at the end of Tifa's solo run through the Gold Saucer arena or something.

sephiroith slashes tifa in the sme way in the og, Cloud comes in and saves her in his shinra grunt outfit.

In the original FF7, Sephiroth does slashed Tifa with his Masamune. Still, although i have knowing that and then now watched the trailer, it makes me thinking hard now and now my head hurts. ha ha ha www

It could be a single altered timeline. This is a theory that’s been gaining a lot of stream.

It's going to go way beyond Junon/Costa Del Sol. The furthest it showed was Cosmo Canyon with Bugenhagen, which means you also have the buggy at that point too. I think Wutai and potentially the deeper stuff around the Ancients etc will be the next game, but will be interesting to see. They didn't give away too much in this which is great!

They also said there's a realistic possibility they could make it fit in just 2 games, but it wasn't confirmed. TBH, the last leg of the OG is more farming than new content, so yeah, it could be done, but they want to preserve the mystic of the OG. So I'm betting on that "big event" as a cliff hanger. And, let's say, max level at 75. Those xx character reveals should be split in at least 02 more parts, to be released later this year.

Surprised you haven’t still realized from the Remake that things will not be the same. They need to make 3 massive full games this time around. More bosses, different locations will come around in different times than the original and the story won’t be the exact same either. Especially with Zack involved somewhere and Aerith being aware of the events of the original game, it’s going to be very very complicated to get the same story as the original.

Btw I’m one of the people that hope for surprises after so many years and not really the same outcomes. Just want great storytelling and nothing cheap just to have different outcomes. Cheers guys, great reaction overall. Really can’t wait for this game.

Looks dope AF!!👌though i'm a bit disappointed its not out in winter as originally planned😔however an early 2024 release is suitable. Def gonna be my most anticipated game of next year for sure🙂

Think they’ve said the story essentially remains the same, but reckon they might make a few changes in an alternate timeline/world! Good for throwing us folks off who’ve played it before!

Both excited and disappointed. Excited on the game play (Yuffie! RedXIII!). But I don't have a PS5, and it'll be bizarre if they did release it for PC. 😢

I'd accept it in a second timeline, but hope they keep the original in there somewhere! Think they've said they will though, so just ridiculously excited for 2024!

@@GamingAfterBed Idk the alternate timeline becoming the main timeline is getting more and more appealing to me. Like imagine a Z and A reunion and Z being the one to help C get it together? Idk I feel like keeping A instead of T could still work. That would really shook the girlies.

Not happening. Timelines will colide at final battle and both C and Z parties will fight together to get their respective pay-backs. But, somehow, I feel like S want's it and will win at the very end, cause he is such an iconic character and might deserve some extra spotlight. Since GoT, endings doesn't have to be happy endings or make sense. Pandora's box has been opened.
