The last part of the song I think Nate (NF) made everyone leave the studio so he could record it cause it was too emotional. I feel like he needed to record this song as a healing process. So glad to know that he’s happily married now. Hopefully he has a better relationship with his dad, based off of his songs the dad at some point had to take away Nate and his siblings from the mother and her abusive boyfriend. Literally feel so bad for him. But exited for you to continue with the journey can’t wait when you get to Remember this and all the other tracks. Hopefully you’ll eventually listen to his full albums cause it’s worth it. NF and Twenty One Pilots are literally the only rap/alternative artist I listen to cause they both so raw and real with their lyrics and don’t curse every other word.

I agree. But he also wasn't accepted by his dad. His dad only allowed him in his holy bc of the law. But he hated Nate and didn't think he could ever be good enough, hence let you down. And whenever Nate became a believer, he shared the good news with his dad, and now they have a relationship and call all the time

Just know we really appreciate you for tuning in and joining us on this journey! Just the little that we've seen so far I can just tell that Nate has been through so much in his life. He is relieving his pain through music and letting people know that everybody goes through stuff. Nobody is alone. He makes relatable music that people can just listen and connect with. He is different from every other artist and he easily stands out. I'm glad he took the path that he took, that way people can resonate with his music and also in a sense heal parts of his mind. NF is really the GOAT!

When he was a kid he was abused by his step dad, and his mom was a complete druggy, one day his actual father went to visit him and found him beaten, so he got full custody of the kids, then Nate (NF) graduated high school, a couple weeks after his mom OD’ed and that’s why his life is bad. And in his song where he has black face paint for a smile, it’s because during that time he had severe depression, and wanted to represent some kind of smile. Also that last part was genuine tears. He broke down in the studio and told the producers to keep it in.

I'm a 57 year old Canadian, i'm retired now i and i really enjoy listening to Reactions to music for some reason. i enjoyed this one in particular because it's not from anything iam familiar with as Rap is not something ive explored. it was insisted upon me that i check this one out by my Neice. but this one did impress me and i will listen to more NF immediately but the subject and the real stress and heart of NF had me in tears. I saw him do this Live, and I thought that he was going to cry, but he stood up there like a REAL pro and cranked this out.. and he had the same emotion in his voice as in the track. Once you get get to the point where you can listen to " The Search" album... he will shed a little more light on his situation with his mother in the song " NATE" ... My father was a drug addict and my mom was an alcoholic. They are both dead now. My dad missed my college graduation because he was recovering from a coke binge. It hurt so bad to not see him there at the biggest moment of my life. They barely graduated high school so I was the first generation college graduate and he wasnt nowhere to be found because doing lines of coke was more important over me graduating. Yo this hit home. 😔😔😔 fuck drugs and all addictions. But on a lighter note yall reaction is dope tho. New subbie.

Im 48 yrs old and this was me and my siblings! My Mom was an alcoholic!. We had a social worker that would show up and at one point nuns took care of us for a bit!! Still hurts I love my momma but her choices fucked me up for life!

Joyner Lucas got some videos that will put you in your feelings. Try "Sorry" or "Frozen". Anything else from Joyner is amazing too, he's a real lyricist. Token and iamtherealak also crazy with bars but really underrated. Which is crazy because if you react to those 3 then compare your views to alot of the mainstream artists you have done you will see a huge difference guaranteed.

My boyfriend lost both of his parents this way at different times. He’s always been different because of it so he relates to NF so much and his early life but he won’t listen to this song. One of the things that happened is I watched my mom overdose at 10 and I relive that day almost every day we then went homeless and she overdosed a few more times she was late to my sisters graduation she came all messed up on drugs my moms friend like another mom also did drugs but she overdosed and is no lover here 💔 song hits too close to home (I’m only 14 now) living with my grandmother and my mom is somewhere I don’t know where but half of my grandmothers heart doesn’t work and she has lung cancer. Been in and out of child care services through my whole life

My parents were never drug addicts but they did smoke when they were teenagers, I only relate to this song a lot because I'm surrounded by drug addicts where I'm from (I'm used to stuff like this) people telling you they're gonna do something and then they don't actually do it. Last New Years Eve I found my friend drinking beer with a group of teenagers on the balcony (it was scary because it was my first time seeing her pale and wrinkly) She can't hang out with me because she can't stand one second without drinking. This other girl at church drinks and she hits me without me noticing. (and she beats her kids)

I lived that life, and I was that kid waiting. My mom never came to save me. I was in foster care till I was 18. Alone. Unwanted. Alcohol took my Mom from me. Schizophrenia took the rest. She was my only family. Dad left before I was born. I turned my life around. I got better not bitter. You can't move forward by clinging to past hurts. When I forgave her my life changed for the better.
