My switch is usually only ever in it's dock when it's being charged while I'm not playing it. I like the ability to watch something while playing a game and switching games are not usually an issue because I keep them in a multi cart case nearby.

No brick guarantee is what I would be most worried about.

I'm in the market for a switch dock. Not so much interested in the option for multiple games available at once. My main issue is that the official dock is really expensive for what it is, but I heard that 3rd party docks are not safe to use, how would you say this works in that regard? I would like to get one but not if there is a potential risk of damaging my console.

i went the digital route for my switch but ran out of storage on 1tb micro sd even the 1.5tb micro sd doesnt look like enough space for all my digital games

Its a cool looking product. Though, honestly Im not sure if I would be willing enough to buy a Switch Cart Switcher mainly because, I never personally had much issues just manually switching carts. Thats only when I feel VERY lazy, or tired. In which case, I just play on hand held mode. And the last bit about physical media, I agree. Im a person who always goes physical UNLESS i have to go digital. I never liked the mindset on "Physical media is obsolete". Like, just cuz you like to get games one way that has its advantages over the other, doesnt mean there's no good reason why we shouldn't like or have physical games. "Oh, but, the environment", bruh. You're playing video games... Something that requires more power than necessary.... With a piece of technology that is going to die out one day and be in a land fill... Made by resources both renewable and non renewable manufactured by overworked and underpaid, children, teens, and/or adults in certain countries... Not a good argument in my opinion if you wanna bring " muh morals" into this.

You solved one of the issues already possibly without realizing it. Plug the card reader cable in first, then dock it. Which seems to put less stress on the card cable, instead of docking first then inserting the card cable second. Seems like the better method for the time being until they change it. 🤔

If the USB C port is any good it'll be spring loaded like the real dock. If it isn't, that's a disaster waiting to happen.

The product is cool conceptually, but there are some things that I feel SHOULD have been done. 1: The button should have been a Joycon grip, like the stock one but without the handles, so it is just a flat remote. 2: The game switcher should have had an implemented battery. That way it could still use it if you remove it from the dock, but still have it connected to the system. 3: Pogo pins should have been used to allow the card switcher to connect to the dock without a cable. This would allow it to get power from the dock without a cable. But you could also add a few more connections for the RGB lights, allowing the front LEDS to indicate the active game. 4: Add a coloured dot above each card input. Bonus 5th: remove the "Storage" slot XD

My only issue with products like this is that the moment you install CFW and get a big SD card they become literally useless as you can simply rip your cartridges and "move" your entire physical library to your SD card or internal storage and never have to bother with stuff like this ever again, and even with patched consoles the installation of a modchip nowadays along with the cost of a 512gb or 1Tb sd card clearly outweighs the cost of getting who knows how many accessories of this type. And honestly speaking, Nintendo should have added already an option to install physical games in your internal memory or SD card.

The original dock was made child proof. Kids bend and break cable connectors... and kickstands.

if the power goes out instead of the switch just going into handheld mode and your game still running, with this the switcher would lose power and crash the game since it would be like the game was ejected.

I don't understand how is it bad to have storage. Let me help you with it. If you don't like it, you don't use it. And then it's like it doesn't exist :o, it's MAGIC? NOOOOO. It's LOGIC. It's like when people complain about men being able to use makeup or more diverse clothes. No one is forcing you. It FREEDOM, not OBLIGATION. And btw, I'd really like the storage option. It's not creating any problem. It means that I can have my top 5 games in there, and only move for the number 5, not for the top 4. Pretty nice actually.

the one I have is actually better, 8 games instead of 4, that is the entire point of it isn't it? Not the dock especially because this dock is not more portable than the nintendo one. Also they added the remote to the initial 4 games version so if u have the 4 games one u can just as well buy the remote and u are set... the version with no remote is a no noi in my op. The 8 games version is probably the best accessory 4 ur switch to this date if u collect physical games as I do. Only downside the price: this thing is VERY EXPENSIVE!!! I paid 65 euros for mine I think?

I don't get it. You lose functionality to.... Switch the switch. It's now tied to the dock and you have to close the game, take the game pit, and stick it back in to continue playing.

Hmmmm, 4 games vs 40+ or more... yeah, hard pass.

I have a better idea buy digital games 😉
