What makes J-Hope’s dancing exceptional is not just his sheer athleticism, it’s how refined his movements are and the way he embodies the rhythm. His strong musicality, ability to isolate, level of intricacy (his hand gestures alone tell a whole story) and the degree of control over every part of his body is amazing. Check out his fancams and you'll realise that his lines are clean, he hits every beat and finishes the moves with a high level of precision even when the focus is not on him. I also appreciate the dynamic quality of J-Hope's dancing- there's both sharpness and fluidity, all with seamless transitions. He places accents on the right sections of the performance. Technical aspect side, J-Hope's emotional connection takes his performance to another level. He absorbs the choreography to the point where he moves by pure instinct and feeling. Dancing to him is like breathing. J-Hope also possesses a unique skillset in the K-pop idol world with his street dance background and hip-hop roots. I admire and respect the fact that he continues to practise his freestyle and pick up new genres eg. House dance even though it's not directly applicable to K-pop group routines. It lends a sense of authenticity that allows me to call him a dancer, not only an 'idol'.

This is a fact- No one in the kpop industry could match up to Hoseok’s Freestyle. The way he has complete control of his body, the several dance styles he has, the stage presence (There’s a saying in Army’s that once you go into a HTS concert you’re probably leaving as Jhope biased. He’s THAT good.), the raw emotion and passion and etc. He has it all. A dancer’s analysis have stated that Hoseok’s dancing is just near perfection. I truly have nothing but love and respect towards him.

J-HOPE was a street dancer before joining BTS and he was actually famous. He was in a team called Neuron. Before debut, a lot of people called BTS ‘a group that has Jung Hoseok’

Facts about his dancing you need to know! Before debuting with BTS, he was part of the underground dance team Neuron. He took dance classes at Gwangju Music Academy. He won various local prizes for dance, including placing first in a national dance competition in 2008.

Jhope is a prodigy dancer, he has 100% control of his body, the handling of the stage, his stage presence, his facial expressions, how he enjoys dancing, not only hip hop and popping suits him, he can dance any type of music and to shine, is that simply for me the best dancer.

11:40 That IS a freestyle. As a matter of fact MOST of the dancing in this video are freestyles. Jhope is a professional at freestyle. He has been doing freestyles since he could walk, he has done a ton of them in the live shows that he does called “Hope on the street” which is live streams that he does that are literally dedicated to freestyle. I suggest you check out some “Hope on the street” videos.

Body Isolation is a terminology used for the technique in which dancers move one part of their body, and keep the rest of the body completely still. J-hope is especially good at it and we can say he mastered it. You can see he uses isolation in most of his freestyles. (You can see his freestyle videos If you search "HopeOnTheStreet" on yt.) The clips from his younger days in this video are before he joined bighit in 2010. Before j-hope debuted, he was active as a street dancer w/ the name "smile hoya."

Hobi has been dancing since he was 12, he attended a Dance Academy and his mother had to work in 2 different jobs to pay for his classes after a while the Academy stopped getting money from him bc there was nothing more they can teach to him and he was in a street dance team called Neuron where he was the center and they won a lot of awards. When BTS first debuted they've been know as "the group with Jung Hoseok" ❤

btw sammy some of those dances that were in the dance studio were freestyle! he often does his livestream called “hope on the street” where he basically freestyle dances live for armys. since bts were supposed to debut as a hip hop group they had to learn how to do a lot of freestyle dancing and hobi’s looks absolutely on point! he nails both choreographed dances and freestyle💜

What's the most impressive to me is that most of it was actually Freestyle. That's one thing I myself as a dancer, even though I do more Contemporary and Hip Hop, have so much respect for. Because Hobi is doing it with so much impressive body control and complex movements.

11:40 it's was freestyle btw I love when you said: "It looks so natural" and "he's just flowing from one thing to the next and (is like) it's just meant to happen" bc that's something that always impresses me. He's so fluid, his isolations are amazing and his musicality is the best to the point where it looks like he's making the music with his moves. I just can't get enough of his dancing.
