Having all the nice tech can help and the Ka-50 is probably the best starter heli just cuz it’s single seat

​​@@PrezDCSI'd argue from my experience that ka50 is much harder to fly and get good at than a mi24. The hind is extremely straightforward in flying and systems, you basically just fly around, fire unguided stuff and tell petrovich to kill something you really don't like with his atgms. Ka50 is several levels of complexity above that. Its autopilot (which you can't just switch off) is extremely frustrating at the beginning, feeling like trying to kill you all the time and not allowing you to actually pilot the heli. Its weapon systems are indeed optimized for a single pilot, but they give you much more work to do than just telling petrovich to kill that aaa. It's full of modern, complex systems which are harder to learn. Fully mastered ka50 is definitely wat more destructive than a hind, but learning to be good at hind is several times faster and easier P.s. winning a dogfight against something modern (f15c, harrier, a10a, a10c or apache from my experience) in an ancient brick mi24 feels amazing

@@user-if4zv5nj5m I’ve never flown the Ka-50, it just seems like something that would improve overall damage output and survivability over the Hind, but the Hind was definitely very easy to learn and operate. I prefer dumb munitions most of the time anyways. Part of why the Su-25A is one of my favorite jets

@@PrezDCS ka 50 can deal much more damage Indeed, but in order to fly it from point a to point b without accidents it takes around the same time as it takes to learn mi24 from zero to multiplayer-ready status

​@@PrezDCStry to use short burst and high fire rate mode. Just pretend that you are firing single shot gun, but it will shoot about 10 rounds in no time without much dispersion. If your aim was on target that's enough to secure guaranteed kill of anything aside from tanks (which still can de killed but with some nuances). Personally, I get more kills with its gun than with 4 s8 pods, it just requires accurate aiming

@@user-if4zv5nj5m the kick in high mode tends to throw me off. I don’t have the fine tuning required for it right now. I like using it in slow mode cuz that 300rpm chugging along is satisfying. Just seems that even M113s don’t go down in my experience at least. Do you take full AP belts or just leave it mixed?

@@PrezDCS I just use standard mixed. From my experience armored vehicles don't die from a single hit indeed, but, as mentioned above, a short burst (estimated 5-7 hits from 10 rounds fired) can kill anything other than tank

And high rpm is a kicker indeed. I use it only with "short" burst setting at a weapons panel (frontal low)
