The Prefab Home market is booming and companies are building extremely cool homes. Right now there are prefab homes being built in a variety of different shapes and sizes for people at every price point, from affordable to high end there really is something for almost everyone. Today I'm looking at a company called Haus.Me and their lineup of modern homes with offered capabilities. They build prefab homes in the Seattle area ranging in size from 120 sq feet up to 800 sq feet and ship across America and International. In this video I look into the company, their models and their pricing and they have a few features I haven't seen anywhere else. Watch and learn about these very cool prefab homes.

The point of a tiny house(to me) is an affordable housing alternative, but for $400k I could be something HUGE for less. I honestly do not see the point of paying anything over $100k for a tiny house. Anything above $100k and I'll go with a double wide for sure. Now that Boxabl has the option to add more modules to accommodate for a growing family, I think they have the right recipe for success.

Love your channel keep it coming Ellen, but I still don't understand the prefab thing unless you have a remote/private piece of land somewhere, I guess? The houses seem more expensive than a traditional, or at least what you get for your money when you compare a traditional on the open market at a similar price point, esp. considering the land is also included. A few seem to offer some interesting architecture, but most of them are boxes rolled in glitter with big price tags. I thought the main selling point of off-site constructions was cost savings, what am I missing?

Hi Kerry, love what you‘re doing with this channel, so cool. One thing you said hooked me: the steam oven. I have been using one for overvten years now and wouldnt want to change it for the world. Has made the my microwave completely obsolete and does much more. You can defrost anything from the pizza you mentioned to bread, refresh leftovers without them turning all dried up and steam vegetables, rice, fish, chicken, etc very gently. It’s the more healthy AND versatile option. So in my opinion they completely nailed it! 👍🏼

One of the things I'm always curious about when it comes to these prefabs is, "Are they hurricane or earthquake rated?" Not only for whether the materials can stand up to it, but whether or not they can be solidly put into the ground to not get blown over. Some of these prefab companies need to set up shop in almost middle of nowhere places so their overhead can be lower and they don't have to charge the same as a 2000 sqft luxury site built home for something 800 sqft.

I think this a great review. However, when reading some of the comments I think some people may have missed some of the details. The roof is covered with integrated solar panels. I'm probably the only person leaving a comment that has actually been in one of the houses. Specifically the one in Seattle. It has been there off the grid for a couple of years now. The cost is so high because it's quality. The construction materials are truly space age. It is not like a cheesy double wide. Everything is custom and superlative. I would suggest that a deeper dive on the construction and options will help explain the cost. Keep in mind, I have a family member who has a new single wide that ended up well over 100k in the end and the quality is not there. Lastly, if you are in the Seattle area, go see it. I bet you will change your mind.

People live in trailers and fifth wheels even which is way easier to steel than even the smallest of these...and those in trailers have not had them stolen so i don't think it's that likely ...tho you have a point worth considering what to do to be sure of that. i once lived in a trailer for a year and never even locked the door but there were also other folks on the property and a big home there too, which meant that no one ever could have done that and not been spotted and stopped. This kind of home might be more for those who might be sharing property vs alone on land...but that's all conjecture on my part only to throw some options out there not to deny the validity of your concern.

wow ..thank you ..that's my area too (NW). I love the 2 bedroom to use one of the bedrooms for office and guest room. Good point about the pizza.in that kind of oven, lol. Maybe the safe speed limit was computed by someone with really far vision....as who knows ..if these homes last for decades or even one decade what we might have by then for vehicles and how fast they might actually go. lol I would get that one or two bedroom, if i had the funds to do that and i think it's well worth the cost for a brand new and totally self sufficient home . Utilities on most homes is not only costly but will be rising and what is it worth if the utilities companies fail for some reason like a storm or quake, and all the while, if you are in this home, your home's heat, cooling , cooking and refrigerator and other energy for electricity is still functioning (what's that worth? besides cost of alternative energy and self sufficiency which is quite costly too to set up. And then how much more is it worth having your home hold up in high winds, quakes, and storms?. I can't say for sure w/o seeing it in person and getting more of a feel for it from the inside (and what materials it's made out of it) , but if all that checked out for me i would not find issue with the price .If i won lottery or had increase in income i would not hesitate on these . The way rents are soaring (some doubled where seniors were housed) and costs of homes too...i could do way better with one of these than to continue renting and paying utilities or heat and electric .

I'm convinced that this is the way we will save the housing market. Smart tiny homes are the future, not just for young singles and couples, but also for students and the elderly. I'll soon be investing in such projects locally. After all, true luxury isn't about how spacious you can make something, it's about seamlessly doing more with less space.

Yeah idk cuz I'm trying to buy a home right now (just got my land for it) and id love a tiny home or a prefab but they all come in at huge premiums compared to a traditional mobile home. Most people who want tiny homes on wheels started moving towards rvs instead to avoid the premium price. If the prices were reasonable id definitely agree with you. Oh also I might just do a yurt instead. Check them out if u haven't seen them before it's super cheap and efficient lol.

For some people, it's not about the size, but about features, livability, structural integrity, etc. Regardless of what's in my bank account, I would much rather have a smaller place. Smaller impact, less maintenance, fewer headaches, less to think about and deal with. A big part of defining luxury is more time to do what I LIKE to do, not what I HAVE to do. As long as it sits on a nice piece of land with places to sit/eat/relax outdoors, and there's enough room for occasional guests, it's all good.

It's interesting that they're Seattle-based; ironically I don't think the Microhaus would be legal here, because it's not a permanently-affixed building. Seattle's ADU regulations require that it not be a transportable building.

That's the real kicker with almost all of the houses like these. Even of they are cheaper...most laws say you cant put them anywhere unless you can afford some unrestricted land.

You lost me when you said smart home. Reason why: I lived in a smart home and it was horrible. Never enough heat, A/C, or water pressure. Smart homes means you get bare minimum utilities. You will freeze in the winter and burn in the summer. Just so you know.

As a realist I have a hard time believing in these. Too small, what about sewer or water hookups? I say take your 50 grand and put it towards a bigger house. Also how safe are these? Strong winds, floods? You still have to own land.

@@KerryTarnow There are forms of window shades that no one can see inside from outside but you can out from inside so it's like there are no shades on the windows from inside...and the opposite on the outside. Then during the day you can draw open when not an issue with anyone being there to see IN. OR many folks WILL place these on land not next to a neighbor or neighbors....like having a long driveway or private road in or just rural enough.AS IT IS IN YOUR OWN VIDEO AT ABOUT 7:21...SURROUNDED BY TREES AND WHERE NO NEIGHBOR is CLOSE ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT I live in small town near Seattle and that's what people do with small homes which people built here BEFORE tiny homes were popular. Nestled among trees and the nearest neighbor not close enough to look in nor able to drive close enough to..Of course in highly populated areas these are not probably so preferable. In Seattle area there are tons of tiny towns and rural outskirts of the big cities where people have homes with many big windows w/o shades/blinds to be able to look out on the land and at the sky but not so much in cities around here.
