what is insane is hundreds of videos showing the posing, can't find any examples of what the output looks like. that'd be one of those things id think viewers would want to see, but i'm not artificially intelligent so huh, huh. that would add all kinds of appeal for the product, you'd think.

I think we need to stress that AI isn't going to replace animators or artists, it's merely going to help pump out art faster. If someone doesn't know what makes an animation good or bad, the AI will never be able to baby them to the exact results they want. However they could get assistance from an animator to tidy things up. The process won't be as time consuming, it'll be cheaper and now everyone is looking to pay animators to help them with their little hobby project films. I see it as a win/win!

@Philosophy.and.Tostitos

@@AtomBomb510 Actually, a lot of the time, it's not that hard to tell the difference. AI sucks at processing second layers of information, which creates hilarious continuity issues with things that are supposed to be symmetrical. Hands and fingers are a case in point. Also objects that are being overlapped, or repeating/symmetrical patterns. It wasn't too long ago that I saw this AI "character design" on Pinterest; the dude literally had a third hand growing out from his back. There are lots of other issues, though, such as detail, anatomy, and perspective. Sure, the rendering may look good because most of the data it's based off of was stolen from places like ArtStation. But you can pretty readily tell there's no way an artist who's gotten to a photorealistic level of rendering would botch a character's proportions or bungle basic art fundamentals so egregiously.

As someone who is rather new to animation, and doesn't have much time to commit to learning it for the projects I work on, this software is very intriguing. There does not seem to be very many channels doing content on it however and that is kind of troublesome, I would really appreciate some, specifically how to go about creating a set of 8 way directional movement samples for characters.

Cascadeur is honestly a fantastic animation tool. As a character animator, cleaning up in-betweens and polishing up the frames has always been my Achilles heel of pure tedium. And don’t even get me started on how much time I spend staring at the graph editor… 😂 (I know it sounds odd, I’m character animator with a small level of patience hahaha) The fact they implement a physics system for character animation is genius (I honestly don’t know why anyone didn’t think of that beforehand) and so helpful. The auto posing is pretty neat too. It really cuts down a lot of the tedious parts of the pipeline and I find it very beneficial.

@@wolfuck That doesn’t really apply here. If you’re looking at this software with the same lens you look at AI image generation and are under the impression that this thing can make full blown, high detailed animated movies all by itself, then you’re incorrect because that’s not how Cascadeur works. My job is gonna be fine, Hell probably even enhanced with this program.
@colaPasta

@@wolfuck hello! I hear this "losing your job" thing quite often, so I'd like to remember you guys that animators aren't software experts, they're a lot closer to actors. We, as human bodies, have more or less the same instruments as De Niro, so why can't we act like him? Because we don't have the same acting knowledge. The same can be applied to animators. You can think of them as movement and acting experts, the fact that the softwares are becoming easier to use is a blessing, not a threat.

AI has the capability to replace any digital job, or at the very least flood any market with a slightly lesser quality product. It's just like AI 2D image generation. AI doesn't draw the strokes, it just prints out a bunch of pixels that look like strokes. For 3d, AI won't have to make 3D models, do the rigging, animate the models, etc. It just has to print out the frames that look the same as 3d animation end product.

i gave it a go, and i was pretty good once you get over the adaption hurdle. but i couldn't figure out how to use items off the character body, like a 2 hand sword. the sword example that comes with the program the sword isn't a child of the hand. and i couldn't find documentation on fixing this. personally i feel tools like this would be better adapted to becoming a plugin similar to quad remesher instead of being a standalone program. that way people dont have to slow down the animation techniques they have learned in their original software, or juggle back and forth between programs.

Awesome work! Would it be possible to create a frame-by-frame animation from AI image generators like Bluewillow? I want to try that out just to add details to movements.

How would you use AI image generators like Bluewillow to create an animation? Would it have the same capabilities of creating a frame-by-frame animation as to the traditional method?

what about stop motion? Say I have an action figure and I shoot 12 frames of him. Can AI program film in the other missing 12 frames to make one second of film - thereby cutting my time in half? Or would you suggest scanning the figure and then doing it all in the computer model? If so, how would you best scan or capture such a figure? Thanks, great video.

I like your edits man, you should make a tutorial on if you can. I'm just curious how you do them. I want to make videos like these in the future and I don't know where to begin.
