Eddie, I think you're supposed to remove the radio from the bracket, then insert the bolts (from the L bracket but without the bracket) through one of the 3 holes from the inside and loosely screw the nut to it on the outside of the bracket. Then slide the radio back through the bracket and guide the bolt heads into the channel. Then tighten nuts.

The instructions are online and yes you put the screw that came with tue L braket in one of the 3 holes and you slide the intercom in that way

I havent seen the mount you saying requires you to remove everything out of the car to install. I have the bigger rugged plate in my pro xp and it the amount of work i did was the same as you except it had you remove all the switches

Wonder if that bracket will work with PCI radios the icom etc.

Slide the Intercom out, remove the bolt from the L bracket and put the bolt in the last hole from the front (from the inside out) and put washer and nut (on the outside) on both sides and don't tighten. Slide Intercom in from front and align screws to slide into rail and finally tighten.

Curious about the wiring on your switches. I noticed you used all red wire on one switch and you mixed orange to black wire on another. Does that not confuse you? We run black to both ground post Red to constant 12v Orange to switch power Purple/brown/blue etc to its designated accessory

Slide the intercom out and install the small bolts in the holes and guide into the channel. Or install the bolts in the channel and bend the tabs up an over the bolts

Eddie Eddie, slide the radio out put the bolts on the brackets and the slide the radio back in. That should work.

PCI mount is much cleaner, I'm not a fan of rugged myself.

why not use the screw from that separate bracket that it came with? ... 1st!
