The octopus was obviously trying to get away in the beginning, thinking it was about to be eaten. But he just grabbed it like an asshole. The octopus not being scared later doesn't make that okay, it wasn't scared chilling in its cave in the first place.

Shane’s KZfaq videos used to be comprised of nothing BUTT photographing amateur models underwater and on the beach, and then videos of him spearfishing, and killing and eating every manner of octopus, with ZERO regard for them, their intelligence, nor their dwindling numbers due to over consumption. The only thing you’d ever hear him say about an octopus was how tasty it was. In these older videos, there was Zero ocean cleanup, zero saving marine wildlife, zero helping people find lost items, just blatant female exploitation, killing and eating marine wildlife, and bragging about getting to spend time with hot girls. As a master diver myself, who spent over a year studying octopuses (and yes, it is, “octopuses,” NOT “Octopai,”) his blatant exploitation of a dwindling species, easily more intelligent than most human beings these days, really started to piss me off. They provide little to no nutrition in comparison to any edible fish, thus there’s no excuse for eating them other than just to be an asshole. Well over a year ago, I very respectfully attempted to educate him on all the new scientific research my team and many others were doing, our findings, and generally what incredible animals octopuses are. I asked that he consider discontinuing constantly killing and eating them. I have it all saved somewhere, but his response, in so many words was, “I will Eat what I want. Good thing there’s a breeding program.” This new ‘nice guy’ version of him is just a rip-off of JIGGIN’ With JORDAN and DALLMYD. Just a ploy to get more views, and to appeal to the growing interest in octopuses. The videos I saw back then rarely topped five hundred views. If you don’t realize that chasing down these poor animals in the middle of the ocean, removing them from the bottom where they feel safe, and then sticking them to girl’s asses, like an eight-year-old boy, stresses these animals to the max, you’re part of the problem as well. Don’t be part of the problem. I don’t know him personally, so perhaps my lengthy message eventually got through to him, but I doubt it.
