@@saulgoodman2018 you're confusing me, man... do people watch TV standing up or not? I don't think they do, and my point (made very poorly) is that it's a room for kids -- those people notorious for being _below_ average height. The mounting height seemed better suited to artwork than a TV.

Depends on how far back you are from TV. Most people get TV’s far too large for the viewing space.
@MathMan2713 жыл бұрын
@@scallywag1716 respectfully disagree on both counts. no matter the distance, you really don't want to have your head tilted upward for extended periods of time. and as for large TVs, it would have to be quite large to fill more than 70% of your visual field. i personally refuse to watch or look at a television thats not at or below eye level; preferably lower

Wow, I do like that wide open floor plan look. I don't like the wood floor look. I think it's really over done these days and too boring. Fifty five inch televisions are too small anymore. I went from a 50" to a 65" and now wished I got a 75" instead. My son got an 80 something inch 8K model for his house and that thing is amazing! Maybe I'll remove that surge suppressor on my TV. ;)
@scallywag17163 жыл бұрын
TV size is dependent on how far people sit from the set. You can go too large. Bigger ain’t always better.
@2-old-Forthischet3 жыл бұрын
@@scallywag1716 yeah, I read that 8 or 10 foot minimum is good. My condo wall can barely fit a 75 inch model so that will be my next one if I outlive my present one. This will remind me of my youth when we used to sit in the first row at the movie theater.

What brand was that TV bracket.
@Mike__B3 жыл бұрын
"TV expert" that was so full of crap. Say no tilt unless it was much higher, and why 60" because it's the average height when viewing while standing up? I can guarantee the reason for that height is because the homeowner has that chair railing around the room and wanted the TV above that mark, because most people don't spend most of their time watching TV standing up. And there definitely was a tilt to that TV if you look at how the bracket was put on. Ideally you want the height of the TV to be at your eye level so you don't have to tilt your head back to see it, which is why it's silly to put it above a fireplace unless your chairs have you lounge back at an angle.
