Those budget build videos are seriously the most interesting content on this channel. Yeah I like the reviews and presentations of new cars and what not, but budget builds like these speak and reach me more as a regular driver than being shown the latest, high-end luxury/super car that I'll never afford or much less SEE in my lifetime.

The reason you start with the negative terminal is because the body is normal grounded. If you take off the positive terminal first there is a chance that your wrench will hit the body and create a short. AKA, Sparks, a lot of energy escaping the battery and possibly even starting a fire. If you slip while removing the negative terminal you miss all the fun.

Like the bedliner use on the bumpers and side scuff pads. If you do the rockers, might as well do the mirror and maybe the roof rack.

When discharging the vehicle for airbag removal after unhooking the battery, turn the headlights on to drain the system faster, after 10-15 minutes you’ll be good to go. That “plate” behind the steering wheel is called a “clock spring.” That’s what allows the horn and wheel controls to work when turning the wheel and keep the wheel “clocked” in the correct position for wheel removal.
@bsfunk44
@bsfunk44 4 жыл бұрын
The clock spring doesn't clock the wheel for removal....the splines do that....it resets the blinkers after a turn

I think if it was me, I’d go ahead and paint the rocker panels with your bed liner paint like the bumpers, then get some black molding and trim paint to freshen up the door handles and some semi-gloss for the pillars. That way it’ll look almost like new with the black trim all the same shade. Also, don’t forget the grill, it needs freshened up too, especially since you’re painting all the other bits. It’s looking real good, keep up the good work!

I could have been more specific, I'm talking about north Iceland level of snow; the traction control would bog everything down when you need power so you turn it off. Then a diff lock would have been nice.

for the battery. you disconnect the negative only and FIRST.. never diconnect the positive first as when you wrench is loosening the positive bolt oif it slips off and touched the grounded chassis.. sparks are gonna fly, if you do the same with the negative it will be fine as the chassis is ground.. then after undoing the negative its safe to do the positive af the battery is no longer connected to the car.
