This move is pretty important in any shot in golf .... but so totally critical in pitch/chipping.... good video ;)))

Great video its taught me so much. I do just what this guy does, open face and throw it at the target getting to much height and the ball going nowhere. Thanks

Thank you guys!, greetings from Spain, this tip was really helpful for me to understand what I was certainly doing wrong. In terms of hand pressure on a scale 1 to 10 what would you recommend?

Nothing more lofted than a pitching wedge for me unless I’m chipping up to an elevated green and then it’s either a 56 or 60. If it’s a very flat approach an 8 or 9 iron is plenty to ensure the ball releases to the hole. 👍🏻🇦🇺

Piers I'm curious why you didn't use the 'towel under both arms' drill. Sam's trail arm also excessively bends and moves away from his body (chicken wing). Wouldn't it have better for him keep both arms connected and syncronised with his torso and wouldn't that reduce his somewhat steep down swing?

I love to use pitching wedge or 9 iron in this situation. Because there is quite short landing space before the flag. So definetly i would choose "9 iron putt from behind the green" and rolling a golf ball near to the hole.

I just started golfing three months ago. Right now my most lofted club is a 50 so I use it for all my chipping. I feel pretty confident right now. I just have to figure out how to be better off the tee

Never had a full wedge set for the longest time. So everything was a PW for me. I picked up a wedge set 52, 56, 60.. and it seems like I have way too many choices and can’t find each clubs strength. When I just had the one for everything I knew that club’s capability. Now I’m completely unsure which lofts to use for what. I’m sure solid practice would help in finding those distances.
@meandmygolf.

Choose 1 and stick with that unless you need loft.👍🏻

Depends on usage but I got a 58 to cover what I was doing with my 56 (90% bunker) and 60 (90% flops). Now it’s just a single choice of 58 for everything bunker, flop, heavy rough, and short sided greens. Kept the 52 for almost all other approach shots within 90 yards.
@ProfessorSteez
@ProfessorSteez 2 жыл бұрын
If you just want a good club around the green, use the 56* most of the time. If you need more roll out, use the 52. If you need less rollout, use the 60.

I use 54 around the green when I'm playing well. When I'm off or played in a while I'll bump a 9 or Wedge for safety.

Depends on how fast the green is. Whatever I can fly 3 ft on the green and stop short of the hole. Looks like 52 or 56, though I love to hit the PW or 9 iron when I can.
