Genuine question. What is the gospel? When you share the gospel, what does that mean? If you were to share the gospel with me, would you tell me that Jesus died for my sins? How would that resonate? How would that be a meaningful statement that would elicit the emotional reaction necessary for the wanted result? I really am interested.

All mythology relies strictly on belief. Believing is simple.. All you need to do is apply faith to what you choose to believe in.. Very simple. But knowing something takes real effort. Knowing takes facts. And when you have facts to know, you dont need faith to believe. No facts to support flying reindeer leprechauns or talking donkeys so all three are accepted solely by faith and belief

It's a very valid technique especially in education to help your students to better articulate their reasoning.

Thats a good question. I believe its because He gave us the gift of free choice. The question is if He would have already instilled that in us, would our relationship with Him be genuine?

Yeah that’s a good ? ! One reason is bc of free choice but also, God wants people to come to Him through faith and love. Also, I would challenge him on, well it’s not about everyone else, what about your choice?. It’s about them as an individual, even though he knows “ about God” as you stated, he isn’t choosing to follow Him. So it goes to show, even if people know Him they still choose not to. The fear of God comes from knowing our sin and then repentance followed with a profession of faith that Jesus died on the cross as a payment for our sin debt! Amen. But I think something that could be helpful for this too is Romans 1:18-32. It basically answers this question :) of course I’m a student as well so I am curious to hear other thoughts

Yep I've watched many videos where someone would ask a person about their views and their defenses are always up ready to attack. That's hard to do especially if they're around people who thinks the same as they do. Strength in numbers.

What do you mean by that? A lot of people are hateful without any religion. For example school shootings. Koukl is perhaps the most disgusting apologist after William Lane Craig. He's not even ashamed to call his work "tactics" and he doesn't find it weakness that he's got to use trickier and "tactics" to talk to people. It's manipulative and any honest decent Christian should recognize this and not have anything to do with his deplorable tactics.

If you find an interlocutor like that, make a rule that if you answer a question he has to answer a question, and we volley back and forth or no convo. If they accuse you of something, say I don't want to be Gish galloped with questions like Darth Dawkins who makes all Christians look terrible and uncaring and the complete opposite of their greatest mandate. That signals that they are not a Christian to me.
