I'm trying out the new pedal making waves on the internet: the Line 6 HX One. This is the newest member of the HX family or the Helix family of effects. This multi-fx pedal is loaded with 250+ effects straight from the Helix and has room for 128 preset slots. It's an insanely powerful pedal. BUT even with those amazing specs, the internet seems to have some pretty mixed feelings about the HX One. Mainly, why does this exist when you could just get an HX Stomp to do more?
In this video, I'll be unboxing the pedal, answering who I think the HX One will be incredibly useful for as well as demonstrating the wide variety and high quality effects you can get from the pedal. I was honestly blown away! This pedal sounds insane.
Finally, I'll go over how I differ from the rest of the guitar world on this pedal. I actually think the HX One is pretty intriguing for the all-in-modeler crowd, especially those using something like a Quad Cortex. I'll go over how utilizing midi control, and the FX loops in the Quad Cortex can allow you to maximize the HX One. That's right- with the HX One in the FX Loops, the fact that can only do one effect is much less of a limitation because you can easily route it to any position of your signal chain without having to redo your pedalboard.
