Having owned and used many brands and devices including several iterations of pods, helix, boss gt, fractal, and just about every pedal you can think of outside some of the meris and chase bliss stuff, the quad cortex is by far the easiest UI to use. Now that being said, any UI that you put multiple hundreds of hours into will become very easy for you once you learn it but the learning curve on the quad cortex is amazingly simple especially if you already understand signal path and where to place your effects. Yes I would say that some of the delays and modulation have a long way to go before they are as good as stand alone units but the amps and drives and capture features are the best on the market to my ear. That is all personal preference so trust your ears and find your sound but I think you will be very pleased with the quad

Some of my favorite videos I wish there were more of are backstage vlogs. An inside look on what it's like to tour, etc. I'm pretty sure there's no playback engineers who have a youtube channel with videos like that right now. One of my favorite guys to watch is Matt Horn. He's a drum tech and he wears a GoPro on his chest and basically records his day. It's super cool to see what it's like behind the scenes. Mostly, I think you should just make the content you like to make and your passion will shine through. Eventually the people who need to see your videos will find you. I watch a lot of youtube videos because of the video, but I become a subscriber because I like the person and how dedicated they are to their work. I know that whatever video they've made was created with passionate intent. I enjoy your videos and your production quality and editing is great- on par or better than most youtuber musicians. And you're a great friend who I appreciate. One of the hardest workers I know.

So you must be doing something great! Don't let numbers and stats discourage you. In my poarticular case, I've actually unsubsubscribed from all guitar channels that turned into gear review channels. I love guitar and music. As I commented before, I'd love to pick your brain on your compositions, your arrangements, how do you go about your drum programming, your mixes. That stuff fascinates me! I'd love to be able to compose a 1 min song with just drums, guitars and bass that would sound so full and complete as yours. 2 cents from an old dude! Keep it up man!

I think firstly, do the content that excites you. I would rather watch someone do XYZ thing but see them genuinely care than do it just cause. That being said, I would say maybe find a niche that you like and stick with it? I see channels like Rhett Shull and I see whatever he is doing, it comes off as genuine since it's just him talking on a particular subject. Tours, recording, gear, etc. That being said, I personally really like your QC content and picked up your preset on it since it sounded the most like me. Since I am new to the unit I wanted to see how someone more familiar with the unit sees it and builds things while I get into the all-in-one mindset again (had a Headrush for about 5 years and now analog for about 2). Maybe get into a new thing like mixing and bring us along for the journey? I personally like that sort of "learn with me" type of videos.

Hey Justin, I'm just a random person who watches your videos occasionally because I appreciate your perspective and laid-back personality. I think your editing is quirky and fun, and it comes across as authentic. Your natural and authentic approach is a plus! I would love to see more videos where you discuss the mindset and skills needed to play in different settings. Not many people who talk about playing in church have also toured in non-worship bands, but I believe many of us are interested in the differences and similarities between these two dynamics. I think your authentic approach combined with these perspectives could fill a niche. I'm not sure how big the niche would be or if you would be interested in exploring these topics, but there does seem to be some discussion about "can it do worship" in gear videos and the characteristics of worship guitar in relation to good technique in other genres. At least, that's what I find interesting. All the best!

Someone is asking the question we’re all wondering! I’ve noticed a bunch of larger creators have declined on their standard threshold of views per each upload. I imagine most of that is COVID fallout and people not watching KZfaq videos as much. But I’m glad you asked this question Justin.

@@ryansnydercg Interesting thoughts! Although- the start of this year I had some of my consistently best performing videos in a row on a variety of subjects. Then last month it just tanked haha!

IMO lean into what you like and be different! There are a million channels that do gear reviews and product launches. But there are only a handful of channels that talk about maximizing the gear you have, and using that gear to make more music. You are one of the few channels that covers Quad Cortex so that's what I like to see, but I'd be interested to see what you think deep diving into different types of effects, or building out tones to match a song (or not if that's your approach, sticking to your tone!), getting ready to play a gig, etc. Or even non gear stuff, like learning new songs and rehearsing and finding gigs.
@JustinMuncy7 күн бұрын
@@JarickL Thanks so much for the feedback and ideas!! I actually have a video on every idea you mentioned! Hahaha Just the challenge of my videos on anything but the Quad Cortex underperforming. @JustinMuncy7 күн бұрын
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who is supporting the channel! It doesn’t go unnoticed! If you’re willing to share some ideas on what would be your ideal channel, I’d be so grateful! 1. What types of videos in this space make you feel like you have to click on the video and watch it front to back? 2. What editing style do you like? Quick, fast-paced? Cinematic? Raw? 3. What in music do you actually want to learn more about? 4. If you could describe your dream KZfaq music channel, what would it look like? 5. What do you feel like you're missing from KZfaq Guitar, Gear, and Music channels? 6. Do channel memberships interest you? What would you want from a channel membership though KZfaq or Patreon?
@JarickL7 күн бұрын
Also if it's easier, I like more short videos (5-10 minutes) rather than fewer long ones (over 10 minutes). Your production level is really good so more of these "raw" videos is still way better than anything I would do lol. Anyways, I don't play P&W but I'm fascinated with the tone and approach, so this morning I was trying to find songs and play along with it. Would be really fun to see how you approach learning new songs, how you set up your gear, etc. Especially if you have to do it anyway!
