HDSQ original wrote a piece of music for black midi called Tau The Song with 6.2 million notes which I reacted to a couple of months ago. Since then Pon Midis has written a response to that song called Tau 2 which has 12.566 Million Notes.

very cool! I really appreciate how you take the time to analyze these midis and really try to understand them from the writer's perspective, that being said I would absolutely love to see you react to 9kx2 by TSMB2, it's generally considered to be one of the greatest black midi pieces of all time and written by a very respected composer

OMG! This is the first time I ever seen someone doing analysis on a BlackMIDI in such a long time I since got involved in BlackMIDI. Thank you very much for creating such a valuable material for freshmen in this area! We got tutorial out there on how to make note arts, but we are really missing tutorials on the melody part. Thanks for filling up this gap.

I enjoy how if listened to closely enough, the bars of notes act like precusion and a chorus singing in the background accompanying the melody. Hearing the commentary from someone who has experience in this field allows me to value this as a piece of music even more than before, so I'll also say thank you for taking an interest in this niche part of the youtube's music sphere!

As someone who has been in the black midi community, as well as contributing with more smaller bmidi's, your analysis's are very in detail, way better than mine haha. Black Midi's are mostly created in "Domino", a Japanese Midi Editor. "2" (there are way more but I cut it down) components are needed, the Audio, and the Art. When the Art is removed, we call it a "Deblack." There are many popular black midi's that you haven't found yet, e.g the Nuker Series, and 9kX2, and of cause, Pi. I hope your channel grows well! ❤

Tau 2 Is amazing I even loved the MIDI piano because it has 128 keys I like it I even know that it started from C -2 to G 8 that is super fantastic but there is another tau called tau 3 and it is mixed with both tau 1 and tau 2 I love you Mathew Cawood!

@@okmidi if anything i think tn4's comparatively higher proportion of original compositions by emex and alex verev would be the highlight of the reaction, to actually see how things made by people who built their understanding of music from black midi differ from regular compositions (including tsmb2 because of his gh background)

I like that in this particular piece the composer stops the "black" part for a bit and actually is playing something that can be duplicated by a competent player. And then gets back into it. I love your analysis of these pieces. You give them a fair shake and give thoughtful critiques.

Fact: If you didn't know, τ is the ratio of the circumference and radius, and goes like 6.283185307179586 and so on. Tau has ~τ × 10⁶ (6,283,185) notes while Tau 2 has _~2τ_ × 10⁶ (12,566,370) notes.

Maybe it's just me, but a lot of these songs with ridiculous numbers of notes sound bad to me. They're just too busy to hear what the song is really trying to say. The note count is too high. Bigger is not always better. Case in point, when Matt plays his version of the song (in bits) it sounds WAY better.
