I teach martial arts, and one of my more dedicated young students was doing his push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups at recess. He was teased by kids that he could, and would have easily beat in a physical confrontation if he wasn't the disciplined young man he is. When the teasing failed to break his spirit, they told a teacher on him. He was accused of being a "show off" by this woman, and was forced to stop his extra, voluntary workouts. Rather than sacrifice his love of Jiu Jitsu, he now stays inside during recess and completes his work outs alone. Thanks Casey for pointing out the envy that unfortunately discourages some young people. Envy disguised as disdain. I'll make sure that he sees this video if he hasn't already. Cheers, Casey

Hello Casey, I'm from Ukraine and i have the same situation. I make video on KZfaq every day like you, but half children laugh at me. Everyone at school knows me. I'm upset when they criticize my videos, but despite this I've already released 160 episodes. Sorry for mistakes, I don't know English very well.

This is amazing. Kids can be so cruel. It breaks my heart when my kids get made fun of...and yes it happens often. They don't announce they have autism and not many kids are aware and understand they're being different is just that. Parents teaching your kids to respect others is going to have such an impact on the future. 💙💙💙

Thank you Casey for motivating me, this kid and so many other viewers, which all have rough days, but with your videos I go on and do their thing! Not many people take me serious when I say, I want to start my own business after finishing my education, but you have motivated me already so many times to learn things in my freetime for being maybe more succesfull when I'm older.

This is the blog I needed when I was in secondary school (from England folks 😂) because I was always tormented for singing, for writing poetry, short stores and they took the joy from me because they made me think this is never gna happen. But about 5 years later, im becoming better with my camerawork and photography, im writing a ton more and enjoying every second of the processes and gaining more and more appreciation of the craft and processes. The same thing happened to me. I used to run a channel, but the bullying at school got really really bad once I started high school. The harassment online and in person became so bad, police came into subject. I run this channel now with a couple random videos in secret, but I'm scared to start vlogging again and making videos I like, where I talk and share stuff I love. I'm just terrified the harassment will get really bad again, and I don't know how to deal with that. I don't know how to persevere when I feel unsafe every day at school... For now, I'll just watch your videos. You constantly inspire me, thank you for all the amazing content you've made Casey.

I'm not 12 or 13, but I find this message useful. There will always be doubters and haters, and it is unfortunate that those people are my parents. I'm too broke to even afford a second-hand car, and just recently got rejected from a nursing school. My father was angry at me that I spent more time thinking up a song to cover for my video than doing medical related study. "You didn't do music when you were a kid, and you have ZERO talent. Don't think so highly of yourself. Nursing career is the best career you can settle with, or else you can sell fruits on the street." He has repeated that many times, and instead of teasing, it was more of a discouraging tone. I didn't ask for their support for me to go 100% KZfaq, I was just doing it between the gap while waiting for the next school's acceptance/rejection result, but it seems like every minute I spend doing anything other than nursing triggered him to slam all the negativity on me. This is a message I need, especially now, thank you so much Casey.

I'll be honest with you Casey. A couple of years back I too made a simple vlog as a kid. I remember hundreds of my school "friends" saving the video and sharing it around, all while laughing at me. I felt so embarrassed. And Now I see the same "friends" come up to me on the street congratulating me, telling me to "keep it up". Just goes to show the character of some people really.

I often wonder if we weren't bullied, would we have had the drive? It's (sadly) poetic justice most times anyway. Most of the people who bullied me growing up aren't living the most stellar lives these days and the thing is that gives me no satisfaction whatsoever. I wish everyone would be the best versions of themselves (including myself).

The talk about hate and success really hit hard. Very motivational and will push me to keep going no matter what, thanks Casey.

Oh my goodness I have been making KZfaq vlogs and other videos for my other channel and my "friends" make fun of me and it makes me so mad. casey, thanks for this video because i have lots of friends at school that gets made fun of at my school for doing youtube and i keep on telling them work hard and you'll make it but, they don't take my advices also I make videos also but i barely get made fun of anymore because i preserved and believed in my self and now people at my school really appreciate my videos.

I appreciate this video a lot. People look at me like I'm dumb for making videos, but I just own up to it. I'm like "Yeah I make KZfaq videos daily! What's your daily routine?" Then they stop and think, I'm pretty sure they feel stupid afterwards.
