Going by this example you are one of the last people on earth I'd have training my dog. Dangling a dog on a slip lead and dodging his bites until he gives up or is too spaced out with the pressure on his carotid arteries is not top training skills.

@@VitaInDC Sadly you are correct. The modern day pitbull is miles removed from what it originally was. If someone, like another commenter here, has good pits then they are lucky. I've had good pits but I've also seen some bad ones too. These poor bloody dogs have suffered through generations of shitty selective breeding by assholes who wanted dogs with 'game' and have bred this into entire bloodlines and this breeding has pretty much condemned the entire breed.

When I was younger, much younger, I was serving in the USAF, as a dog trainer. I enjoyed my job and loved the dogs. Our sentry dogs looked just like this dog, only worse. They were trained to be like this, and they were trained to do it with a single word. One of the most important things there is to remember, is that it's easy to train a canine to attack/bite, but it's not easy to make it stop. So if you get bitten, pray that it decides to release soon. Anyway, just from watching The Dog Daddy's videos, I believe that he is the most professional canine trainer that I have ever seen. It's a pleasure just to watch him apply his trade. Keep up the great work Dog Daddy. Sincerely, SGT. Smoke

The first thing I teach a pup is to come to me when I beckon it. Then a stay. Then the out. Those commands can save a dogs life. They get taught to out with a toy, then a tease rag, then a sleeve and decoy. You're right. For me, it's a Top3 command to teach any dog and not just restricted to working or sport dogs.

@@lhl9010 A dog can both be trainable and in deep need of training lol. The dog was not fine. A dog that is fine does not lunge and attack random people just because they make the slightest move towards their handler, or pass the leash off. That could’ve easily been someone going in for a handshake. Or a young child thinking they can pet the dog. Obviously not an appropriate response for any dog walking around at a park.

My friends neigbor was in his mid 70s he had an 8ft tall plank fence around his back yard and we always heard barking "sounding like a pit" one day me an my buddy "RIP Kev" walked over to invite the old man to a fish fry and asked what kind of dog he had. He was scared to death.. he was trying his best to care for his sons albino pit bull that was deaf and blind and mean as shit, the son had been in jail for 14 months and was severing a 3 year bid. The old man opened his kitchen window and poured water into a 5 gal bucket and poured feed on the ground for the dog. The dog hadn't had any human contact in over a year. My buddy Kevin asked if he could have the dog,, the old man said son if you could get near him yes I would love for someone to take him so he can live a better life but that dog will kill you. Kevin said let me try. I have seen so many mean dogs, I have raised pit bulls and rescued pitbulls that were fighting dogs but I have never in my life seen a dog this mean. It was hard to communicate with him since he was deaf and blind. My buddy walked in the back yard and the dog waited and lunged at him once he got within chains length, Kevin never showed fear, he stepped on the chain and the dog kept running in circles as Kevin kept shortening the chain until eventually he was 2-3 ft from the pit, he reach out to let the dog smell him as he put a leash on with his left hand. The dog walked rite beside Kev and layed down leaned against him. It was beautiful. The old man started crying and said take him son. He kept the dog for 8 years then my friend died and I cared for Ghost for 2 years then he passed. I miss them both. Never give up on a dog if you haven't gave the dog a chance, but don't be a fool and put your family at risk. Some dogs can never change from there past trauma so don't put your kids at risk around a dog like that.

The problem is that’s an American Bully. What he’s doing is not bad behavior, that’s simply what he’s bred to do. Fight and kill without any hesitation at all. Btw, you can’t train them not kill. It’s genetics. The dude in the video made the dog fearful (tail tucked, you can see) for just a minute. That’s not a fix at all. And it’s worth mentioning again there is no fix for pitbull type breeds, that’s in their blood. Upbringing can affect behavior but has no effect on if it will snap and kill. Can happen to any pit.

I bet that dog feels a lot of safety, security, and comfort when he's swinging it around in circles by its neck . Man handling only fears the dog and sooner or later they will give up and be docile. That is not training.
@chelsiefetherman3324
@chelsiefetherman3324 Жыл бұрын
@@dianerainey3441 that’s not manhandling 😂 how else would you like to go about that? He is not jerking the dog around, he almost follows the dog where it’s going but still keeping a little bit of control to create enough space between them to where he doesn’t get bit. Most of the time I see the dogs with muzzles that are aggressive like this. He may not have had one this time or they weren’t able to get it on so this is the next best thing. He definetely wasn’t man handling the dog or jerking it around by it’s neck 😂

I'm 43 years old and have literally not gone 1 single day of my life without 1 or multiple dogs..I've had 2 Amstaff Terriers, a wolf/german shepherd hybrid, a great dane, a bull mastiff, collies, shelties, a rottweiler, a dobi, a st bernard, a rat terrier, an english bulldog, and a couple more that seem to be slipping my mind, but anyways..This young man has a connection with these animals that is absolutely astonishing..Training a dog isn't particularly difficult if you have patients, time and relentless discipline..But this man completely changes an aggressive dogs demeanor in minutes..It's quite the thing to watch

that was some great expression of dominance without violence....I had to scruff and chuck a blue healer once and the owner was overly upset over it but I explained that the dog thinks it's an alpha...you can't have an alpha dog .....you must be the alpha...now you've called me to help and your alpha just got shown it was not alpha....I'll be back in a week with your dog to start Training YOU...they were much pleased with the after effects of 6 weeks of training and apologized for their previous behavior....most times it's the owner being ignorant not the dog that's the problem.

AMEN TO THAT!!! But it is counter productive to do it violently. I've never had to use shock collars, prong collars, muzzles and Ive rescued, healed, rehabilitated, taught manners & specialty trained, pit bulls from fighting rings for 35 years. Over 100 of them deemed too aggressive for shelters and recommended for euthanasia. They turn out to be the best most loving, appreciative dogs. They are eager to please. Their confidence returns and they are still protective faced with a threat.❤❤❤ I will always have them
