Ferrus had a difficult personality and so most of his brothers saw him as a less friendly Vulcan or a less arrogant Perturabo. Fulgrim and Vulkan were the only brothers he truly liked, Vulkan heart broke with Ferrus death and ended up with him being taken by the Night Lords and Fulgrim used their once friendship to make him angry and open for the killing blow.

The Heresy could have been avoided if Fulgrim got into a habit of saying "No Homo" after literally every sentence.

You missed out on ferrus next moment, because ferrus did admire guilliman. In that moment the Gorgon was not feeling contrition but shame. The campaign in the gardinal system had been salvaged by ferrus but he had done so messily and brutally. In that moment Ferrus looked upon Guilliman and saw the noble, eloquent, and wise warrior king he aspired to be. The kind of man he felt he was not. The Title of the Gorgon was one he embraced, but he knew how restrictive it was; his brothers viewed him as a hammer to crush the imperiums enemies but as a rather simplistic and brutal warrior. He wanted to be more and was more, something we see when he acts and talks to the solar auxiliary general. In his next words to fulgrim he said he would no longer be pursuing the position of warmaster, because his reputation would illbefit the role of a charismatic figure needed. It is an acceptance of his failures in the campaign, even in the mitts of a victory celebration. I have many complaints with the ferrus manus primarch book, but the scenes with ferrus are not among them.

Disliked? More like envied Guilliman

You would've expected G-Man to be 100% confident in himself. But he himself is also a victim of envy much like Ferrus Manus. He envied(and admired Lion) for his unyielding singlemindedness in his duty and funnily enough his height.

Ferrus never could get ahead.

Guilliman was always possessive about his things, his sons, his people, his worlds, his systems and now I guess his Imperium. He hates senseless deaths which explains why he wanted the Emperor to censure the Primarchs that were killing their own sons for no reason.

I think Guilliman is the scariest one out of the primarchs; he's usually calm but he enters in a murderous berserker state when truly enraged yet he's capable of maintaining the minimum amount of control necessary to destroy you in an efficient way

I find it amusing that Guilliman at least respected all his brothers in some way, even if he disagreed with their mindsets/methods, but few actually liked G-man. A lot of them thought he was a micro managing over achiever (mainly because he rightly criticized their tactics) and he actually scaled back his talents so to not foster more resentment from them.

So many primarchs talked shit about Roundabout Gorillaman yet had at least one moment where they admired/envied him

The thing with Guilliman he is just a good politician, and diplomat. Not only he knows what to say, but he knows what to say based on your personality, body language, beliefs, culture. He can read person really well, unlike Ferrus, who almost got all 3 primachs killed with his rage charge on istvan

And it wasn't a lie or a false assessment. In Know no Fear, in one of his POV chapters Guilliman counts Ferrus amongst the four true friends he had amongst the Primarchs. He also respected his and his Legion's combat ability, having reasoned through wargames that if he had them with him in the vast majority of scenarios that involved rebellion amongst the Astartes that he would win.

It’s really sad, because he grieved over Ferrus’ death. During the battle of Calth, Guilliman learn some of the truth. That despite Corax and Vulkan may be dead he would miss Ferrus.

Wonder how many worlds that Primarchs like Ferrus have stayed loyal once the heresy began Lorgar prior to his fall and Guilliman tend to create more loyal worlds since both think of what comes after conquest.

Fulgrim is refering to Guilliman's term: "The Dauntless Few". Which involves: Sanguinius. Leman Russ. Rogal Dorn. And Ferrus. Should the Ultramarines be paired in battle with one of said Legions, Guilliman believed no opposition could win against him, and his brother. Which is a little douchy, to be honest. When he thinks of the Dauntless Few, he also pictures himself four times more. 😅 But Guilliman does know his stuff.. Credit is where credit is due.

Those are some serious sour apples. As capable and powerful as Ferrus was, if he literally lightened up a bit, he probably wouldn't have been killed. He'd use reason, not emotion

Moments like this demonstrate why Fulgrim assumed Ferrus would join him in rebellion.

Ferrus and G-Man are more like each other if you see how they can act enraged, just see how Guilliman react against Lorgar doing havoc and chaos in Ultramar and how Ferrus lost his mind(and literaly his head) when he discovers about Fulgrim's betrail on Istvaan V.

All of this to simply say that Ferrus Manus was a tsundere.

The irony is that Guilliman surpassed Ferrus in the end in every conceivable way. He survived multiple assassination attempts and direct combat with his traitor brothers, he killed Omegon (the real one), His legion not only survived but thrived, he came back and he pulled the Imperium back from the brink. Ferrus was unbending and this is what got him killed while Guilliman was adaptability made manifest and this was and still is his key to success.

Ferrus like the Lion had difficulty accepting people and understanding him. Its funny because he actually reflected on this when he smirked when Vulcan presented him with a custom crated weapon. Then reflecting further about teaching his sons the way of flesh just years before his death. Its tragic because as much as the Primarchs excelled in everything, so were their flaws. Super human flaws lol.

Fulgrim seemed similar to Roubute Guilliman expect more full of pride and preening. Fulgrim was an exceptionally talented Primarch gifted at running things efficiently and organizing his entire planets subsector much like Guilliman with Macragge. The only issue was he should have learned to say no to alien artifacts like the Laerian Sword. If he had just left it behind and meet with Ulthwe Eldar he could have been one of the best Primarchs😢😢😢. Hate what he let happen to himself and his Legion.

The more and more I look around even before I was. Guilliman fanboy I’m starting to understand how massive a presence he has in a lot of his brothers minds. It’s interesting that he frankly is one of the few of them that’s well, reasonable? IE if you sat in a room with Guilliman and Vulkan as an imperial guardsmen your gonna have a pretty decent time. And the consequences are that the reasonable brothers are the ones who have the most power or presence in there other brothers minds: IE: Guilliman, Horus, Vulkan, Sanguinius. All fairly reasonable people and they were loved and hated for it

Never underestimate the rage of the quite man. He remains quite because his rage is not needed......YET, but when it is.... You best pray that the master of logistics and the long war gets angry.

I’m not exactly a Guilliman fanboy but man do I love it when he gets mad. He goes from somewhat of a stuck up ass to an absolute whirlwind of righteous fury that I am all here for.

I wish they covered Ferris more he’s always described as a true force of nature and I want to see more of that.

Ferrus and Fulgrim have such a bizarre but interesting relationship with each other ,and the fact that we know Fulgrim kills Ferrus makes it all the more fascinating.

Am I the only one who thinks Perterabo and the iron warriors are more similar to the Ferus and the Iron Hands? An example is how both Perterabo and Ferus tend to tinker and modify existing technology and in some ways work on developing new tech. Another example is how the astartes of both view mortals lives who fight alongside as nothing more than tools and cannon fodder as long as the legion achieve their objectives

Fulgrim is the perfect example of how much of a fuck up some of the primarchs were put of sheer stupidity. Fulgrim mocks the way Gulliman is and what he does as if he was soem turbo nerd. Yet... That is his job. That is BOTH their jobs. One took it seriously and the other just used and abused his power. Both military and supernatural. The traitors thought they deserved better when in reality they got too much.
