I met Derek Trucks when he was 14 years old. I saw him at a bar in Toronto with my friend Jeff Healey. Jeff got up and jammed with him that night at it was the first time that they met. My guitar teacher and guitar builder were both at that concert of Yamashita. It was the GFA in Canada.. All of the great guitar players of the world were there and they were all jealous and angry at his talent. They were a bunch of whining crying little babies. Yamashida blew the world away and the world did not even know it. I'm so glad to see him in this position because when you said at the introduction of your video we would see the world's greatest guitar player The 1st guy that came to mind for me was Yamashita and you actually have him on here.

Raphael Rabello's interpretation of "Luiza" is spot on. The song was written by brazilian legend Tom Jobim, world famous for "Girl from Ipanema". The music gained national recognition in Brazil when it was used as the opening title music for soap opera "Brilhante" in 1982. To me "Luiza" is highly emotional, there is a romantic anguish to it that usually moves me to tears if performed with sensibility. This interpretation from Raphael Rabello hits the right spots and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. Yes, I shed some tears while listening. The song has also been interpreted by other brazilian greats such as Chico Buarque.

Yamashita also did an insanely good rendition of Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Cappriccio Diabolico, probably my favourite piece of guitar music ever.

As Brazilian who actually got to listen Raphael Rabello live show I can say that ,due to technology limitations from the time period, the recording's nowhere near the sound that you would actually listen from his performance in a live session. The dude was just unbelievable.

I've seen the Yamashita video many times. I was fascinated with Yamashita and read up about him a few years ago. As I recall, the straight-laced classical guitarists of the time kind of ostracised him because of his unorthodox technique, using small finger etc. Too bad many couldn't accept his ground-breaking utter genius because they were threatened

Joshua Meader is a guitarist I only recently discovered due to the algorithm and the guy's just insane! Very fast yet clean and very technical as well. The guy's been playing jazz since he was a kid lol. Also what else can we say about Derek Trucks? Each note oozes with emotion!

This genius performer seems to be making Love to his Guitar ❤, what an amazing performance, he’s truly a master of his instrument, I can understand why other musicians would be so envious of him, but the dedication it takes to be this good is no easy thing, I would say he lives for his music and through it, simply sublime, I have no other words to describe it Julie
