Why is that annoying? Is there an obligation for guitarists to play in font of an audience? I attended piano and trombone lessons for some eight years when I was young and I hated when there was a compulsory once a year performance. It was one of the things that made me finally quit.

Stairway got replaced by the entire ouvre of Metallica in the early 00's. I don't know what they do today. After two years in music instrument retail, I did my level best to stay away.

You forgot the Rockstar. I remember a guy in a local Zeppelin cover band who thought he was Jimmy Page and wouldn't help the band setup for gigs or tear down after, or even help drive to the gigs. He didn't want to damage his hands because he was a "musician", and not a roadie. He wouldn't carry anything but his guitar, which he carried EVERYWHERE.

Then Chad grabs the guitar and busts out a hacked up version of Wonderwall and everyone's having a great time. And you're thinking "why didn't I just do that?". Not every good musician is also a good performer, it's just a personality thing. I learned this long ago so now I just play because I enjoy it, not to entertain people. :)

I'm a decent bassist but i have difficulties breathing when i play (basically unless i focus really hard i breathe in synch with every note i play and it's annoying as shit with fast songs) so sometimes i sing, I'm kinda shite at it tho 😂

The Avant-garde Snob really is accurate, I played a part in a guitar ensemble piece by a contemporary composer which used custom notation (aka virtually unreadable without first memorising all the custom note heads etc), and it was just like how you demonstrate
