i liked Lucy. The actress really nailed the naive and overly friendly Vault dweller.

Did anyone else notice they were using the VATS in the ghouls gunfight? At first i thought they were just doing the slowmo bullet time thing, but it really feels like the characters are picking their targets just like in the games. Love this show.

Lucy and Maximus were great! They played the roles really well and nailed the awkward ignorance towards different things. I loved everything about it - just hoping to see more mutants, robots, and hopefully some synths in the second season.

Being a huge Fallout fan, I love the attention to detail they added in this show. The guy selling Iguana bites on a stick, the Pip Boys, the scene where the brother was hacking the computer was exactly how you hack on the game, the setting, the music, the Brotherhood of Steel armor. I appreciate all the work they put in making this on par with the game! Hope they make a season 2!

Brotherhood was not the same out west as it was in the east. Almost completely different in terms of the lore as far as I’m aware so for those complaining that it isn’t what you thought it was going to be that was the intention. It’s almost like a small cult in the west with far less resources which they depicted accurately.

Big Kyle MaClachlan and Walton Goggins fan. Chris Parnell is another comedic genius I like (and let’s not forget the lost guy). This show is surprisingly phenomenal. I expected it to be great because I love the games, but the actual show stands tall on its own. How amazing.

The best for me are Lucy and the Ghoul. Walter Goggins is usually very funny like in The Righteous Gemstones or Vice Principals - and works with Danny McBride a lot. It’s great to see him in a dramatic role. I heard the make up application sucked for him though. But it went from 5 hrs to 2 hrs near the end. He’s great! Ella Purnell who played Lucy is a rising star. 😊

Walton is the GOAT, but I really liked Lucy. Ella is a cutie and a great actress.

Lucy was really good. She had good development and was also very well rounded. Remember episode 1 when she approached asking for directiona, while keeping a hand on her gun. She was annoyingly positive, like any vault dweller, but by no means stupid and gullable.

Goggins definitely stole the show. The others actors and actresses also did an amazing job. Equally as good as the Last of Us.

Ghoul was my favorite too even though I always like whatever role Walton Goggins plays but I enjoyed Lucy and liked Maximus’s story well enough. The humor in this show didn’t feel forced and it may not have always made me laugh but it was good fun.

I agree, Walter Goggins' character for sure stole the show.😆💞 Goggins also mentioned (on his IG), that he refused to play the games before the show came out because he wanted to keep the showrunners, etc "honest", and come to set with a different perspective than those that had played the game. I can appreciate that, as well.

This show is SO well done. They capture the feeling of a post apocalyptic world to perfection. Goggins is winning an Emmy for that performance, I looked forward to his scenes most by far but it was all very good must see TV.

Its actually the opposite to me. The Ghoul is definitely cool and has some great story but Lucy and Maximums really resonated with their characters. They all feel larger than the story, Lucy who's a vault dweller has to face so many tribulations in both becoming a surface dweller and learning about the past. Maximus although troubled is a good person at heart and does exactly what i feel i would do in a world of shit. The Ghoul is a man that has been torn, dragged, and dumped all the way into where he is right now, he holds deep resentment to the world as shown with his name, he doesn't even identify himself as cooper anymore and is stuck to adhering to the wasteland

Lucy boring? I completely disagree. I think her humor and respect to the roll was flawlessly executed. Every cast member did great!! Loved this series

I love it! The vault attack scene followed by them just kinda re-setting. Fresh splash of paint without even taking blood off the wall. It was just like the vault overseer game on mobile

I really felt like Lucy was SUPPOSED to be boring, especially initially. She was pure Pollyanna but showed definite signs of character development as she woke up to the "real world" that had been hidden from her during most of her formative years. But The Ghoul/Cooper Howard does steal the show. The torture/bait scene was cold 🥶 ☠️.

It looks amazing. I had issues with the emphasis on the dystopic aspect above the same elements you mentioned. I'm used to a big brotherhood influence in fallout 3 their transport helicopters flying in and fighting the harder enemies in the wasteland for you gave a different feel to it than other versions. Plus the story of the vault dweller was epic so I hope they do emphasize the main characters

It's like the writers watched a playthrough of the game and took notes. The characters who stood out the most from the writers perspective are the main characters in the show. It's like they're trying to imitate the game without understanding the true essence of the Fallout series. A true fan perspective. I tried liking the show. My problem with the show is with the writing. The writers have decided to take the show in a kid friendly direction. The entire vibe of the Fallout series is lost. The main characters are a bit too silly. The environment appears a bit too clean. The color palette a bit too saturated. It's easy to tell that they're acting on set and in front of props rather than in real rundown neighborhoods, subways, and walking inside of abandoned buildings not knowing what to expect around every corner etc. Everything that happens in the show is predictable from a mile away. That sense of suspense gone. Therefore, the sense of realism and immersion lost to the audience. The Fallout series is meant to be more in the vein of 1981 "Escape from New York", 2010 "The Book of Eli", 2007 "I Am Legend" apocalyptic, suspenseful, gritty, etc. but the writers of the show have decided to go in the direction of kid friendliness. It's like watching Power Rangers lol. Maybe it's not the writers who is at fault, but rather its the higher ups over at Microsoft. Either way, unfortunate. By the way, those thumbing this tv series up doesn't seem to have been fans of the Fallout series. I am seeing comments from casuals who were never fans of the games thumbing this tv series up, and thus the reason for the high ratings. Maybe, that's the audience Microsoft was aiming for.

Lucy being boring is understandable, she's literally a vault dweller entering the world for the 1st time. Maximus being boring is not understandable. He was rescued by the brotherhood as a child and holds them to the highest regard, then began seeing the bad side to his heroes but had zero reaction. That seemed to be the sum total of his character, like thats it. He's about as useful as a background character getting shot, despite HAVING POWER ARMOR. You'd figure he'd at least know the very basics of power armor considering that was the whole purpose of his training, you know, to aid the Knights

I personally love lucy for the funny naieve side of the vault dwellers and as like a stand in for our playthroughs when first starting in fallout. Maximus is very interesting to me for the emotional side, his ambition and growth.

My dad had never really played the games, but we watched it together After the "raider scene* (will be vague because spoilers) he asked me "so, is this true to the game or???" I told him i felt like i was playing Fallout 3. They NAILED the introduction to the vault, followed by Lucy getting the fuck out. I've been playing since Fallout 1, and i honestly think some of the shit going on in the show feels more like Fallout 1 than any of the obsidian/bethesda games

I skipped every scene with Maximus and literally missed out on nothing and understood the plot. The only times I didn’t skip scenes with him were if other main characters were in the scene with him, which was basically the vault 4 episode and the observatory scene

They did such a good job, very much like the game makes me want to play them all again, really good storyline too!

My complaint, which is minuscule asf, is the Ghouls don’t have that raspy cigarette voice lmao this show 10/10
