Uncomfortable with having your finger pricked for #health monitoring? A new patch developed by NTU Singapore scientists could offer a non-invasive alternative.
The patch, which looks like a 'band-aid' or plaster, measures #biomarkers like glucose, lactate and urea through sweat. These biomarkers indicate various health conditions, from #diabetes to genetic disorders.
The #NTUsg team used a microlaser encapsulated in special liquid crystal droplets, embedded in a soft hydrogel film, creating a flexible, soft and compact sensor device that provides highly accurate readings within minutes.
