I belive most are miyota 8205 now. Some are still nh36a seiko movment. I got mine 3 days ago. It had miyota 8205. Front glass was sapphire, I checked with diamond tester and water droplet test.. back glass is regular mineral glass. the ring around the front glass is probably tungsten. Because many of these sold with metal bracelet is marketed as tungsten/stainless steel watches. Mine runs 4-4.5seconds slow every 24hour.

I watched a video where they checked like 5 different watches of this same brand claiming to be sapphire and they tested all with diamond tester and it came back as regular mineral glass

@@texasjourneyman207 I have seen the same video. Not every guanqin use sapphire. My gj16034 is definitely sapphire. I've compared with swiss cartina and norwegian Harper & brooks watch. My cheap watches from zeblaze and seiko had mineral glass on my diamond tester. Gj16034 had the same reading as my certina.

@@vectraB97 yea i know i just find it weird on some they claim sapphire and its not i have no doubt they actually do use it on some models though. I bought a corgeut black bay homage and it is indeed sapphire as well i love it u shoukd check it out if u havent build qualitu is great solid end links sapphire crystal miyota 8215 movement milled clasp screw pin links all for 103 u.s. dollars

@@texasjourneyman207 I don't think guanqin have their own website. So you have websites like Banggood, AliExpress, Amazon and ebay seller who are responsible of giving you the right specifications. They generally don't care and just want to sell products. Like tourist shop in Gran Canaria who sold me a seiko and told me that hardlex scratch resistance is similar to sapphire. Off course bullshit.

I received my black version of the watch yesterday. It is absolutely stunning. The 12 facets on the " mini bazel " accompanied by high quality polish gives it diamond like light reflection with hand movement. The movement runs 10s plus per day which is outstanding. I had option of day in Chinese and English. I decided to keep on Chinese language for fun snd educated my self how to recognize them. I wished the second hand was a bit longer.

Very happy to hear you enjoy it. My biggest gripe is also the short seconds hand. I have been investigating these very affordable Chinese watches for some time and I must say the quality is becoming better and better all the time. Had this watch been Japanese or Swiss I would have cost 3-10 times as much as it does. Enjoy it in good health. Best regards, Anders.

It’s a great looker not sure they have seiko movements anymore but the Chinese movement is decent mine hacks and hand winds and nowadays the display caseback has AR coating! Also they are £30 now

I’m super happy with mine Guanqin GJ16034, the accuracy is amazing with that Seiko movement, mine is +3 to +7 per day!! Thanks again for a great review, Anders! By the way, yesterday I backed The MAEN Hudson Automatic on kickstarters!! Looking forward on getting it in the late september!👌🏻😉

A really nice watch. I own one - I get +4 seconds/day accuracy! According to "Just one more watch" the crystal is actually sapphire, which makes this even more of a bargain. And the movement is actually NH36 (NH35 plus day of the week). All in all nice review.

They should put GQ on the display instead of Guangqin (like they do on the manual and warranty card 07:48). Guangqin name gives it a cheap (which it is) look no matter the quality of the watch.

GQ would be a fine name for it. The quality of the watch for the money paid is very good. It would cost 8-10 times as much if it was Swiss and 3-5 times more if it was Japanese.

Just sent mine back had a scratch under the crystal 😖😖that’s why it was so cheap I guess maybe saving money for something better like an orient bambino is the way forward

Yes the Chinese are coming. Unbelievable what you get for this price. This watch remindes a bit on the new Timex Marlin. The Guanqin is just a lot more afordable and with an fine movement, the Marlin ist just a sad reflection of what once was possible.

Just be careful. I bought one and it had a Miyota 8205 in it instead of a Seiko. An inferior movement with no hacking and a unidirectional rotor instead of bi-directional. It's not stainless steel, and doubtful it's sapphire either. The Chinese straight up lie about specs because there's no laws to stop them. Even the picture of the watch case back they show in advertising is of another watch entirely - a GJ16013 not GJ16034. (Funny, they have now changed the pictures on their website -Gearbest and Aliexpress - that showed the wrong watch back.) You can see here they show the wrong watch case back. imgur.com/a/Cii1oYe

For the first watch you showed, the blue one. Energyreserve...this is no German word at all, they are stupid enough not to ask for the right word when they started this copy. Ok, may be they are too lazy, too sloppy, whatever. Wearing such you can only embarrass yourself. Better you wear nothing. This makes the watch worth under 0,00€.

All the stuff about the name! Brand snobbery. If something is good, it’s good. If you got a faulty Seiko, then it’s ok because at least it’s got a “good name?” If you want the fucking thing, just get it.
