With Middle Park Beach at their doorstep, the retired clients did not want a two-storey extension that would give them that much-desired ocean view, they just wanted a modest renovation of their heritage home. McMahon and Nerlich focused on that ground floor living, with a north-facing courtyard tucked away in the corner, bathing the living areas in sunlight all day. The other core feature of the home is the curves, including a curved window, which was done to softly connect rooms.
The material palette was kept simple, with a monochromatic palette wedged between a timber floor and a timber ceiling. The courtyard has some darkness in the canopy, along with the window and door frames, providing a touch of contrast.

Wow, impressive. The "curvy" house is so cosy and humane. Like the courtyard which is everything to the house. The bathroom is also another highlight! A very nice job.

It would be better to show the whole house rather than only the living room, kitchen, and the courtyard.

The other two bedrooms were not styled and did not have beds in them, the second bathroom is basically the same layout as the one we showed, and the walk-in robe is just that. So there was no need to show those rooms, especially the hero/main concept of the home was the courtyard and those living areas.

I really like this apartment however this video is spoiled by having nearly 20% of video taken over by a sponsorship which is completely unrelated to the video topic.

I'm sorry you feel that way, although the deliberate decision to put the sponsorship at the end was made to not disrupt the video. Sponsorships are necessary for us to produce these videos, and not every sponsor will appeal to everyone. With that said, what sponsors would you find to be related and not mad to pop up?

@@SimpleDwelling I appreciate that you need sponsorship but a 6 minute video, starting with the sponsor ad and then ending with more than a minute of sponsorship advertising is just too much. If the video had been more than 10 minutes, then this might have been ok, but any more than 10% is just unacceptable. Also any architecture or design related product would have been ok. KZfaq has also recently dramatically increased the amount of advertising shown before during and after videos, so if sponsorship advertising is also been included then it is reaching the point where it's just not worth looking at the videos.
