For those who don't live in a country where there is ash gourd - use cucumber or zucchini juice instead. It has similar effects on the system. I've been drinking first thing in the morning before my sadhana and it does wonders. You can like this comment, so others can see it too. Joyfully, Geórgios

But shouldn't you be doing sadhana on empty stomach?
@stillmystic
@stillmystic 4 жыл бұрын
@@adityar572 I time it in such a way, that I have about an hour+ after I drink the juice. The drink is also pressed as juice; is not a smoothie; therefore easy flow through the body. You can drink juices 1 and a half hours before you start your sadhana; it will be not in the stomach anymore when you start. Hope that helps.

Ash gourd ->Different names : White gourd Winter Melon Wax gourd (denotes one sub-type of ash gourd) Kushmanda, brihatphala, ghrinavasa, gramyakarkati, karkaru (Sanskrit) Petha, pethakaddu (Hindi) Torobot (Manipuri) Kohla (Marathi) Neer poosanikai (Tamil) Kumbalanga (Malayalam) Boodida Gummadikaaya (Telugu) Budekumbalakayi, boodu gumbala (Kannada) Kumra, chalkumra (Bengali) Komora (Assamese) Appearance Immature ash gourd is coated in fine hairs which disappear as the gourd ripens. The exterior color can vary between dark green to a pale gray. Mature gourds are coated in a distinctive white ash. This powdery coating is where the melon derives its other common name, “ash gourd”. The shape of the gourd can also vary between round and oblong. Taste and Use The taste of ash gourd is very mild, like a cucumber. It has virtually no taste of its own, so it is easy to incorporate into all kinds of salads, smoothies, and juices on hot days. On colder days, you can add either honey or black pepper to the melon to reduce the natural cooling qualities in the fruit while retaining its raw energy boost. To retain maximum vital energy, ash gourd should be eaten raw. Eat Good ,Feel good 😊🙏

I am constantly striving to enhance my quality of like so thank you so much Sadhguru for this 🙏 It has now been 6 years since I gave up the consumption of every kind of meat and 2 years since I gave up the consumption of onion, garlic and all food prepared outside. The change I feel in my system today is phenomenal. I had to work terribly hard earlier just to calm my nerves and not be driven by my mind and emotions. but today I sit with ease at the driver's seat of my life for the changes in my eating and drinking habits coupled with yogic and meditative practices I learnt from Isha Yoga have blessed my existence with the presence of God itself. Forvever grateful with my whole heart to Sadhguru. Thank you for saving my life Guruji. Thank you so much. 🙏🌸

RaguRām 🙃 Namaskaram 🙏🏽 For me personally onions weren’t hard to let go , but I loved garlic 😫.. but as you learn & grow you’re eager to face your challenges with more strength , it becomes ( for me ) a mindfulness and within a little less than year time gave up on my garlic and started experimenting with other types of things , you’d be amazed how as the days and months go past you realize that the things you felt you needed aren’t as important as before...😉you got this my friend if ever I can help you just reach out 🙏🏽.

@@Raguram... Sure, but forgive me for this will be a little long as I would like to tell you something more without which you might find it hard to grasp me. So thank you for your patience.🙏🌸 I accidentally stumbled upon Sadhguru 2 years ago. I gave up meat 6 years ago after I adopted my first puppy in 2014. I am a very simple person. Not much in my head, mostly in my heart. My puppy showed me that animals are no different from us. Just another life. Within a week, I couldn't so much as see the sight of cut up flesh on a platter without an aching heart. It came naturally to me to give up meat after that. It was my mother who introduced me to Sadhguru because for some reason by the time I was 22 in 2018 life had driven me insane. With each passing year of my life I kept getting more and more confused about it. To the point where I'd even try guided hypnosis meditations and binaural music just to go deeper within to find answers but hypnosis didn't work on me unfortunately. I was unable to sleep, eat, go out, or even practice basic human hygine. It was like I was rotting inside, screaming and crying silent tears within, calling for someone to just please tell me what life is. Who i am. What all of this even is. Science (both education and therapy) had failed me years ago so now I was looking solely at spiritual sciences. Name any renowed spiritual institute in India and I guarantee you I had visited it and learnt their practices to help me soothe this burning question inside of me. When my parents took me to temples I had nothing to pray for, I just begged the idols with tears in my, eyes to liberate me. I went to mosques, churches, any place I bowed down at, I was asking the for the same. I was barely 20 at that time. Then strange things started happening in my dreams, some form of higher knowledge would come to me, I'd wake up and make medicines out of herbs or build something or draw a geometric pattern I couldn't stop seeing in my minds eye. I didn't understand if I was getting closer to the light or completely losing myself to the dark. Strangely all this while Sadhguru never once crossed paths with me despite being so well renowned. When my mother finally told me about him after she started watching his videos 2 years ago, I completely rejected him. I suddenly had a head the size of Asia, if you may. My ego put several walls between him and me. I didn't trust Gurus anymore at all after all the past ones failed me. But let's just use the popular Buddhist saying here, "when the student is ready, the master appears" and a force like Sadhguru wasn't one a mere being like me could fight. So, when Sadhguru arrived, within a week, a mighty force brought me to my knees. Had never felt such humility and gratitude inside of me ever before. I then knew that my Guru had finally come. I had never watched a single video of his, knew nothing about Isha but I signed up for any course I could find at that time around me. As a result I first learnt Bhuta Shuddhi and Shambhavi Mahamudra in Mumbai and the following summer went to learnt Hatha Yoga in Coimbatore. I was absolutely naive. I simply did whatever he told me to do. I went with no desires and no thoughts at all, to him. Just to receive whatever he would be kind enough to give me. And I think that's why the beauty of the consequences were profound for me because I didn't expect anything to happen so as things began to flower within me, I was absolutely mesmerised each day. My body became light as air. My thoughts became wordless. I began to hear my body. I knew what to feed it, when to feed it, where to keep it and how to keep it. I just knew it. And I just knew so many more things like they were absolutely simple to know. Living each day was like a movie for me. I simply bowed down to him and did what he had asked me to every day and then some new profound realization would dawn on me. First I knew life, then I found out who I am (or rather the fact that I am not) then I knew no separation and overflowed with compassion. I wamted to embrace all, serve all and heal all and I did so to each life I came in touch with for I had never felt such power in me before.What they call Chitta and Kundalini energy which gives you the power to create your reality, I understood by experience without ever aiming to gain any of that knowledge. If anything it made me humble beyond measure for I understood just how small a happening we are and yet how much importance we give to it. It's a short time and I choose to dedicate that to serve. I went to him because I was dying. If he hadn't come, I would have lost this life but only once he came did I truly understand why in this culture we put the Guru before our parents and the Ultimate Supreme. Because he teaches us what everything else is. That's why he comes before anything else. Without him, we can go to the ends of the cosmos to find answers but we will never *know* . He had never been a person to me. He had simply been a force that enveloped me wholy and amidst all this when you ask me what giving up onion and garlic did, I can only tell you this, when I became aware, I simply knew what must be consumed and what must not in order for me to continue to enhance my experience of life. It is not only onion and garlic but now I can also touch/see water and I know if it must be consumed or not, I can hear the voice of a person on the phone and know many things about them that even they might not, when even a stranger hugs me now, I know his story and I know by experience that there is neither a you nor a me yet this life gives us the opportunity to experience a you through me and a me through you and that's why being alive is so beautiful. I hope that helped. If you read the whole thing, I am beyond grateful for your patience and kindness. 🙏🌸

It's called kuvalo in konkani. The yummy 'Kashi halwa' from Mangalore/Udupi is made using this vegetable. Kuvalo Curry+dosa is a favorite local combination. As kids, our grandma used to prepare kuvala juice for us. I've seen them grow in our cousin's farms. Our elders always sweared by the nutritive value of this vegetable. But I've hardly consumed it in the last 10 years. Guess it's time to go looking for it.
