This thermoelectric cooler otherwise know as a pelite cooler made my phone faster!
In this video we take a look at powered phone coolers and see just what they can do and if they add any extra performance to your android phone.
With my Galaxy S21 plus this actually worked and worked very well adding 100k + points to my Antutu score and it also helped out a lot with gaming for long periods of time.

This type of cooler actually really helps when playing games on smartphone. Before this i actually play genshin impact on my phone and after 30 minutes or so it started lagging. After that, i went and bought the blackshark funcooler pro and now i can play genshin impact on my phone without so much lagging. It does lag sometimes but very rarely, but without the cooler, it lags so much.

@Disney Toys R 4 Fun nice device + USB c hub you get un noticeable delay when it's plugged in the hub which makes it connect pretty much directly to the device then a razer cooler and the USB c hub comes with ethernet then wireless earbuds and I'd say a magnetic phone holder and A samsung s23 ultra That's what I used for mobile gaming because I like gaming in my bed This little setup gives me around 5-6 ping no real buffer 1gbps download speed super cool phone not much controller delay max setting 120 fps *HOWEVER!!* this is with me being able to code / root my phone personally by I'd say deflating but it does indeed make my phone run a tad bit faster than my Xbox series x or ps5 I just made this for anyone wondering I know your comment is old

Did an experiment a while ago with my Galaxy S6 edge, which was overheating a lot. Took the CPU fan with heatsink from our broken old computer, cleaned it, and simply placed it on top my phone which I placed face down. Used Samsung Flow to control the phone, connected to PC via USB. The fan was powered by a 12V adaptor. I was surprised because the phone actually retained or even gained some charge albeit very slowly. Normally, the battery would just drain. I never got an overheating warning despite running multiple demanding tasks. I ran some benchmarks both with and without the fan+heatsink for control. The result was indisputable. With the fan, the phone never throttled. The heatsink did its job and the phone remained cool to the touch. Without the fan, the scores severely dropped on 2nd and 3rd runs then just throttled. Even got the overheating warning. I repeated the whole thing, but started without the fan first and the result was the same. Might try to do the experiment again, but with Galaxy S8 and S10 running DeX. Been planning to get a proper cooler with peltier. Just waiting for a good deal.

I did this same thing on the S8. I ran Genshin maxed out on overlock and it ran smooth with a stutter here or there. Very impressive. On low settings, the game refused to play smoothly oddly enough. The only problem was that power is in issue. I could get about 1 hour and a half in genshin maxed out

I just got one of these thermoelectric coolers to experiment with my PinePhone Pro. I've been experimenting with PC game emulation using box86/64 and was playing Half Life 2. It would run well for a minute or two and then start lagging very hard, the RK3399S throttles at 70 degrees C. I cut a thermal pad to fit on the exposed modem shield with the cover off and then clipped the TEC cooler to touch the thermal pad. HUGE difference. Half Life 2 runs pretty well, though still dips sometimes but I can see the clocks and temps are still OK. I am now experimenting with overvolting the cooler to see if I can get more cooling performance out of it, because the PinePhone Pro's back case is designed to insulate your hand from the internal heat which isn't good for trying to cool the CPU through it. Hopefully we can make a replacement back cover that has a metal plate for cooling.

This Is So Cool. I Always Considered This Concept And Now It's A Reality. I Have A Xperia 1 And If You Know Sony They Are Extremely Tight On Camera And Thermal Operation. Trying To Shoot 4 K On A Hot Day Your Lucky To Get 1 Or 2 30 Second Clips Before It Locks Out Camera. After Each Video I Would Put The Phone Screen Against My Arm In Spots That Are Not In Direct Sunlight Light. That Works Surprisingly Well. Liquid Blood Cooled hahaha This Cooler Would Probably Help Alot! I've Even Considered Thermal Pasting A Large Heat Sink And Fan To My Phone But That's Not As Practical As This Thermoelectric Cooler And Say A Battery Bank. Only Concern I Have Is The Xperia Is Designed So That The Hottest Part Is Near The Top Of Phone Near Camera (I'd imagine this was done becasue your hand isn't touching that part to increase the heating up rate). So This Cooler Would Not Be Able To Be Placed On Hottest Part Of Phone. But Still Would Probably Help.

@@Darkreaper71 possibly, possibly not. I usually shoot inside a car and mounted on the body. I've got an external directional mike mounted on a cold shoe on the phone and it isolates in-car dialogue from the AC rumble pretty well, and we sometimes use a Bluetooth lapel mike for extra isolation. Sounds like a lot of junk to hang from the windshield, but a go pro also needs an external Mike and also gets way too hot when sitting there for a long time, and mirrorless cams or DSLRs are hard to mount there (and still need miking, too)

Hey ETA i think your early explanation of how the cooler works is a bit off. The Peltier creates a temperature diference between both sides, so if the hot side gets hotter the colder side will also get warmer, so the fan is on the hot side where the eat comes out of to vent the heat and the cold side is in contact with the phone. You can have a vent on the cold side but its less efective.

They should integrate this into those telescopic phone controllers (ideally one with usb C so it can be powered/charge the phone while gaming). I have an S21 and it's been great so far (because I don't game on it). The thermals are abysmal and gaming on it kinda sucks. My genshin impact runs exactly like ETA's does. It's very choppy whether it's on low or max graphics. I was stunned to see it running at almost a locked 60. The thing is, I can't see myself strapping a fan to my phone just to play genshin.
@RRRRRRRRR33
@RRRRRRRRR33 Жыл бұрын
It would make the controllers even more expensive, but yeah. Phones accessories as "gaming" goes are all over the place, even if you strap one of these fans with a very short USB type C cable attached to the phone itself, ok, that setup is done... but how about the controller, how can you strap everything together, lol It's pointless really, I was really considering picking up the S21+, but the snapdragon 888 heats up so much, it seems the best option is to actually pick the s20+ instead. Snapdragon 865 is weaker, but at least it will work for more than 30 minutes without throttling (and it has a SD card slot, that's a positive imo)

Ambient temperature affects the performance of the cooler though. If you're in a room that's warm, it won't cool down your device effectively. And these are hardly peltier coolers, I can that's just a USB fan blowing on a conductive plate. Some don't even have the plate, they just blow air to the back of a phone.

I kinda hacked one of these onto a Pi 4 and they work pretty damn well. The easiest way to do it is by getting one of those heavy all-metal cases that act as a heat sink and strap one of these phone coolers onto it. The Pi went from being concerningly hot to the touch (probably around 50-55 C) to close to room temperature. The one I got has a temperature display and it was showing 31 C while the thing was being used to stream music through Volumio

That’s just not a realistic idea it would make no sense it would perform better with a external battery powering it v.s a internal battery powering it the case/thermal fan would get hot because it has a battery inside it that’s transferring power the moving energy inside it / battery juice would make the phone cooler hot not hot but a warmer temperature then if it didn’t have a internal battery powering it and it would make the case/fan more heavy and it would be thicker so the heat or warmness wouldn’t be able to escape because it’s so big and has a big surface area

I wonder if anyone could tell me if this is going to do the job if I just want a better battery life and if it will to what extent? Thank you!

I would absolutely love to see someone make a snapdragon sbc. With something fairly modern, like a snapdragon 865, make a custom kernel that accounts for active cooling and will maintain max boost clockspeed indefinitely or even let you overclock! A snapdragon 865 with stock passive cooling optimization already outperforms the strongest arm sbc, currently the RK3588. Imagine just gutting a discounted phone older phone because it's got a shattered screen, and making it better than the current top $300 sbc! You wouldn't even need to invest much other than your time and effort, you could literally just get a usb-c hub and plug it into the USB c port that came with the phone, mount it in a cheap acrylic case with a peltier cooler, and install windows 11 or dual boot with an android os

You could probably also use the wall wart that came with the phone to power it. Use the HDMI on the USB hub and run it like a normal pocket sized pc

My poco x3 has a Snapdragon 732g which is better than the Snapdragon 730g by 15% but when i play mario sunshine on the pocox3 nfc the performance is worse than the pixel 4a (which has a Snapdragon 730g) is this because of thermal throttle?

Is it worth buying the Razer Phone Cooler for an Android smartphone (Galaxy S21 Ultra)? Is it compatible with Android and specifically Samsung devices? Does it make as good of a difference in perfomance and temperatures as the phone cooler in this video? I will appreciate if anyone can answer any of those questions.

There's no point in improving performance year after year if the chip is not cooled enough. It should not be normal that a pricey phone like the S21 isn't running its best due to thermal issues... Qualcomm needs to fix this before even thinking competing with the Apple M1...
