Another great outing for Richard Fitts. One earned run was all the Guardians could muster . Went 6 innings. They are a good hitting club too. I got to see Gurrero close out the game too. Woosox win 6 to 2. Enjoyed it. Medroith player of the game.

I love the guy. My one worry with the Sox pipeline of top prospects is they're all lefties (Mayer, Anthony, Teel) and combine that with lefty hitters like Devers, Casas, Duran, Yoshida.... it just makes me wonder if we trade one of those prospects and/or trade Yoshida in the next year or two. Honestly, I want to keep Teel and Mayer and Anthony and would rather have them and see Yoshida, McGuire, Valdez all get traded for a nice #5 starter or starter depth (sort of like the Verdugo trade).

I think they have too trade yoshida hes not a good enough defender in the outfield and you can either sign or find a dh who will be a better run producer as a dh

@@bryangould1666 I don't think anybody wants Yoshida. He makes way too much money and can't play defense. He's also not hitting well. They might be stuck with him.

It will be interesting to see how the evaluate the lineup in the next couple years. One thing too is that we always just assume that these guys are worse off of lefty pitchers because of it when that’s not always the case. Yeah I think balance is important but is it more important than just having the most talented team on the field?

I think you know how I feel about Marcelo Mayer. 5 tool player. I have been watching him play. I welcome a minor league video like this Corbin. Matter of fact I love it !!! I have no doubts on him. I do think he is coming to Boston sooner than we realize. Our bullpen concerns me. Imagine how many more games we would have won already if the pen had not failed. Our minor league reliever of the year is sitting in Wooster , Luis Gurrero. Maybe there is someone else down there somewhere that could help if its too early for him. To continue having the pen giving these games away is a shame especially after these good performances by the starting pitchers. I am sure we would have won 2 or 3 more games if the pen was stable. Hope your day is going well. See you tonight. Joe

His fastball was off the hook lol :)

when this team gets healthy there probably won't be room for any upcoming prospects until they expand the rosters. Not a bad thing for the big 3 to finish honing their skills in AAA ball and be ready for "the Show" in '25. if the injuries continue to pile up then I suppose anything is possible.

Holding my breath on the Devers knee issue… having flashbacks of Pedroia. Devers already has challenges in the field. That said I was thinking about today’s video. Picturing a 2025 infield of Teel, Casas, Grissom, Story, and Mayer at third. Move Raffy to DH… finding a taker for Yoshida will be the challenge. When Story’s contract runs its course perhaps Zanetello or Cespedes takes over short.
@redseatradio

Yeah I think that is for sure the long term plan. We will see how yoshida does this season. I still really like his bat, but if these young kids are doing well it'll be hard to find reasoning to hold on to him.

@brentbell7235 yeah it would depend on the injury itself for sure unless it’s like year ending I am not sure it does much to that timeline though. I more so think that these prospects will end up deciding that in the coming years

Why is any rush bring up their big three prospects this year given their low probability of a post season birth? I think Nick Yorke's future role is more important at this point. Please DFA Dablec and send Valdez to the Woosox. Chase M.+Nick Sogard can't at least embarrass the RS with their fielding as much. Grissom+Refsynder are needed.

Honestly I would make a lot more sense for the Red Sox to bring Mayer, Anthony, and Teel up into a season where they have 0 hope of a postseason push, because then it's getting your feet wet not shouldering the burden of pushing this team to the next level which they already have a ton of. If they are hitting and staying healthy wouldn't it be kinda dumb to sit there and say eh we wont bring them up cause we aren't competitive this season

I think it is great that he is off to such a great start, I am thinking they give him until sometime in May and if he is still producing at a high level, they can then move him up to Worcester. Then see how he does up until end of July August to see if he might be able to handle himself in the Majors. I would only do this with him right now, because you can see Story is out all year, Hamilton and Reyes are not really producing much at the plate or in the field. With all the injuries going on with the Sox this years, by the time August gets here you may need to bring him up. I know they have a bunch of other players to promote before him, but if he shows all the promise that the Sox believe he has, then why not see what he can do. But you only move him if he can show consistency at each level over a larger sample size. I would use the same philosophy with Anthony and Teel too. Oh and please stop making video's which talk about avoiding injuries or players that may or may not get injured, you jinxed another player yesterday in Devers saying the Sox avoided disaster and it may not have been related but by late in the game Devers came out with a leg injury, first thing I thought of was Corbin made a video talking about it, and the curse lives on (Just kidding, but kind of getting a little wonky each time this happens). You should keep track of that in your stats.
