I just looked at the historical paper I got from Browning. My 1953 Superposed 12 gauge Grade 1 was sold at a Macy's Department Store in Herald Square in New York City. It sold for $188.11 ! If you don't have a historical record get one from Browning. It is a cool piece of history. Cost is $49.00 and worth every penny.

FN's fiscal year began July 1st of the preceding year, so an early 1931 gun was produced in the second half of 1930, kind of like today's new car models come out in the Fall of the year prior. Roughly 2000 guns per year in the pre-war years is a good estimate but it's not the gospel. For instance, in 1934 at the peak of the Depression, only 1 Superposed was shipped to the States, according to the Schwing book, Then Browning lowered the price about 30% and sales took off again. Thank you Art's for all you do to continue this gun's amazing Legacy.

I was passed down a grade 1 12ga. It has barely been shot so its super tight still. Great gun. I myself shot it once, which is the first time its been shot in over 20 years. Love it.

Thanks for the videos. There are 2 firearms that I regret not buying. The first was a mid 30's vintage Lightning with 30 inch barrels and outstanding wood for the grade of gun. The second was a early/mid 50's Funken engraved Diana for a very good price. I skipped the early gun because it needed a rebuild, and the 50's gun because I thought that someone had altered the stock. That was before I knew that Browning would do just about any kind of work on them. Of the 2 I REALLY kick myself for passing on the early gun. It was one of those guns that just fit and balanced perfectly!

Thanks for this video. I have a Grade 1, 12 gauge, 28” F/M fixed choke, S8 serial that’s thankfully NOT a salty and quite tight all around (haven’t be shot that much). It’s been passed down to me from my father. I was looking for such info around. What’s a bit strange about my gun is that the wood seems a lot darker than the Grades 1 I’ve seen all around on the internet. It looks more like a Diana or a Midas. I checked and the wood hasn’t been replaced because the s/n on the receiver matches that on the buttstock.

I found that very interesting. It’s still relatively straightforward to buy a new B25 - albeit they are quite expensive ( but not as pricey as a Perazzi). I’ve had my B25 B2g for around 6 years and had it customised to fit me. I love the lines of the gun and it’s a delight to shoot.

I’ve got a 1938 (according to Browning) Super. It’s got two triggers and no engraving. I’m pretty sure it was the base model at the time except it does have a vented rib. Even so, I’m pretty sure it’s worth more than the $600 I paid for it 12 years ago.

Thanks Brad for another great video. You may remember I was looking for a 3" superposed...I found a 1964 gun and am very pleased with the exception of the trigger which is 9# for the bottom barrel and 8# for the top. I read that others found the 3" guns to have heavy triggers as well...To your knowledge is this true and if so, why heavier than other superposed guns?

Dear friends, I own two Citori. Serial of hunting model is 05335RN153 and the trap one is 01030PX143. I live in Costa Rica here there is not a lot of options to find superb experts in Gunsmithing like you guys. I will like to blue the hunting model, build in 1979. My doubt is related to the solder. Can you give me a clue if in this model they use silver, tin or lead solder? This will determine which blue process I can choose. Thanks in advance.

I recently purchased a 69 superposed lightning 20 , was wondering about the “salt guns” of that era ( watched your salt gun vid), don’t see any of the warning signs , so grade one should be ok? Usually high grade wood that received the salt treatment?

I have grade one with the serial number in the 15800's, which means it was from 1938. It was my grandfather's, then my father's, now mine, and one day it will go to my kid if she wants it. Or to my nephew, if she doesn't. She's rather small and it's a heavy gun.

I have 2 problems: On reassembly, I somehow got the firing out of sync: you showed the disassembly but not the proper reassembly of it. I fiddled with it until I thought I had fixed the first problem, but now it only fires the second barrel after I cycle the safety. It was my grandfather's gun I've never actually fired it, and by the time it came to me it hadn't been fired in 30 years, so the two problems may or may not be related. If you have any ideas I'd be grateful. Question 3: being that the ejection springs and firing springs are all loaded when closed up, should this gun be stored broken? (I guess once I get my previous problems sorted, if it goes boom after 30 years, that sort of answers my own question...) Theoretically what's the right way in your opinion to store this gun?
