Salut, ok I'm sold on this! Ive been wanting to do this for a longtime, maybe because one of my favourite movies was Le Grand Bleu when I was a kid. Went to Koh Life in may/23 and loved the snorkelling experience, saw the captain free diving and wished I could have dove down like him to see the underwater life up and close

You are a wonderful inspiration in a unique way! I was honestly about to hang up my dream of learning to freedive but your video re-ignited the hope i had for pursuing this sport! 💪🏻💪🏻 i even moved to north carolina to be closer to the water - and i honestly didnt realize how mentally challenging this activity is. I really need to do this because i have always lacked direction in my life too 😮 and i never realized the level of trust required either!! I will look for the book too “Blue Mind”

Do you teach people how to swim first or do you require that they know how to swim before learning to freedive?

it's best to know how to swim first, so you know how it feels like to be in the water. It also doesn't make much sense to me to learn to freedive when you haven't put in the work to learn to swim first.

Shame this will most likely not become reality for me. I live in a german backwater loophole in the black forest where there is nothing in a vicinity of 65km. How do I cope with having to let this dream go?

Hallo Catharina, ich komme auch aus Deutschland. Glücklicherweise gibt es bei mir in der Nähe das Dive4life und das Monte Mare. Ich möchte mich vielleicht einen Verein anschließen. Aber ich fühle so sehr, was Gert sagt mit dem sinnlosen Leben und möchte so gerne auch eine zeitlang am Meer leben und so oft es geht freitauchen. Lass uns connecten und zusammen eine Weltreise starten 😁

@@catharinalangle4890 ich lebe in der Nähe von Bonn. Dort in der Nähe gibt es das Dive4life (Siegburg) mit 20m Tiefe und das Monte Mare (Rheinbach) mit 10m Tiefe.

Unfortunately I expect too much from too little time in the water. I always have done. I still enjoy pool training. Not keen on statics. I enjoy Spearfishing. Not too bothered about depth numbers. Still feel frightened of being too deep.

I've been following since you just had a 10 k subscribers. I'm a self-taught passionate freediver, been doing it for years and simply loving it! There's no other magical environments to feel inner peace like in the underwater world. Also glad you growing, keep grinding! You deserve it! Freediving community is very strong all around the world and all of us will keep fighting for a better and more cleaned ocean!
