Nicely done, well though out and a really fair comparison. Even with upgrades to the Ascent, that bring its price in line with the VRD, the Vanquish still has a noticeable edge. I mean, look at the pedigree of the VRD! I still think the Ascent is an inexpensive way to get started and it has lots of potential but the VRD is just the better rig (well except for those noodles Vanquish likes to call links!) 👍

Brass portal weights on a ascent and do the shock mod w mini t springs and shock towers man this thing is impressive. Ive ran lines i never saw anything make it up and made it. I have stock tires that are notched with foams on beadlocks. A crawl master motor im impressed with this thing soo far.

Best comparison vid ive seen on these 2. I was gonna buy a redcat but couldnt find one, i ended up buying a vrd and its an absolute line killer. I think if you have a scx10 iii jeep and want a better crawler buy a redcat, if you want a comp rig right out of the box buy a vrd.

Again nice vid. I almost bought a VRD Carbon kit (IMO the best mainstream larger company LCG kit/rig on the market), and then the Ascent came out. I am not a brand purist, but I have so many Redcat rigs that all use the same parts it just made more sense and it keeps my spare parts tree easier to manage. I also like to tinker a lot with homemade mods and the VRD just seemed so complete (not a bad thing at all) that it didn't interest me from a self engineering point of view. I do have non Redcats: Bomber, 3 gear 2.2 AR60 TVP home build, a 3 gear based SCX10.2 axles comp carbon LCG, and planning a TRX4 based UGRC Trail DR. build (collecting parts now).

The best bang for the buck there is a cheap drone esc for 15-30 bucks, a 20-30 dollar motor, and I think 10th scale makes an soa for it. 🍻🍻

Watching this just after I put new rims motor/esc and servo into my stance. I have a Tamiya hotshot 2 coming that will gladly accept the old esc and servo, I’m glad I got the stance

The stance has wheel weights, lay down shocks, and two stage foams which really help it in this comparison. Imo a better setup in the ascent same money would be A fusion SE 1800 some 90mm desert lizards and $10. Amazon shock towers and a $7.00 roll of lead tape for the inside of the front wheels

We agree with everything you've stated, unfortunately a perfect comparison will never happen. At the end of the day we wanted to get some footage of both completely unbiased to provide people the ability to form their own opinion. We redid this video about 10 times (recorded the overview anyway) because we felt we put too much bias into it. We're not here to dictate YOUR fun, but to all the potential viewers of this video, the point @chriskryder2994 has made is a very good one! 🍻🍻

I put a rock pirate chassis, sliders, swapped the motor for Fusion SE 1800, installed a reefs servo, put some good tires on it. Been super happy with the vs410 thus far.

I think a lot of people are going to buy the vrd being where it's coming from and you know like all the videos that have been done on it shows that it is excellent out the box and get that front weight by us like I think a lot of people are going to pick it

Nice test. I would like to see a follow up video with the VRD using a the same Fusion Pro. Also it looks like the VRD has wider track width. Is that true? And what is up with Axial style 17 year track record of wimpy links! Vanquish you are better than that! Joking, joking!!!!🤣

A fusion pro or se will be put in the vrd stance when the brushed system dies. I think it works really well right out of the box, minus the drag brake. I can however put one in it and make a video if you’d really like and pull some lines with both! 😂😂 man idk why axial and vanquish put the wimpy links on, I would’ve much rather spent and extra 20-40 and get some thick ones!! 🍻🍻

The Stance is right there with it. Fixing the front suspension, lower links, and terrible drag brake are it. Once done the truck WILL hang with the best trucks out there, within the same class of course. The truck shocks me every time I drive it!! 🍻🍻

@@the-ab-outdoors as much as I want to get the Stance or Carbon, we already have 2 TRX4s and 2 VS4-10s. My 10 yr old has a Slash Ultimate and he wants me to get that instead and run a spec Slash race with him.

shouldnt they have been tested both stock. upgrading to an upper end motor/esc and better tires is not entirely "Fair" for comparing two RTRs .....

It wouldn't have been a very good comparison bone stock (The Vanquish would've won by miles). The stock motor/esc in the Ascent is WAY too fast, and the tires are far superior to the Vanquish stock tires. 🍻🍻

I could see adding the Redcat to the stable as a kids n family rig, otherwise STANCE ALL DAY. Way more long-term support from the aftermarket is about guaranteed, and you can do just about anything with that rig you’d wanna do out of the box. Just replace the links and GO 🤌🤘
