Nick Wright talks Aaron Rodgers after the Green Bay Packers suffered a shocking upset to Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. Both he and Chris Broussard believe that the Green Bay quarterback did not rise to the moment, did not spread the ball around enough, and failed to push his team over the edge to a victory. Watch as Nick details why this game might be the single worst loss in Rodgers' career.

Rodgers is one of the greatest to ever play the game, that is undeniable. But the amount of passes and excuses he’s gotten for his shortcomings in the payoffs is just crazy. No, not all of the losses are on him of course, there were games where he was letdown by his teammates and coaching. But like Broussard said, some of those losses he was did not play well up until late in the second half when the game was pretty much out of reach. Which is why his numbers look so good in those games.

@stevenwetzel942 2 жыл бұрын
He chocked for sure, but I wouldn’t say they had the “weather advantage” against a team that specializes in zone running schemes and running, not passing. 49ers are designed for cold weather and just because Pros play there doesn’t mean they played in warm places in college.

Brady's had some terrible performances in the playoffs, too... in his prime and at home, no less. But I agree that certain players just seem to be built for the postseason. They have the proverbial ice water in their veins in lose-and-you're-done scenarios. Brady and Mahomes definitely have it, but greats like Peyton and Rodgers just didn't/don't. The funniest thing is that guys like Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, and Nick Foles were very mediocre regular season performers but always seemed to steady themselves and find that extra gear or two in the playoffs and SB. So there's really no rhyme or reason.

As a leader, you have to will and push your teammates to take it to another level. You have to make them believe in the idea, or chance, of a triumph. And Rodgers does not, and cannot do that. The only thing I'll remember about Aaron Rodgers after his playing days are over is the absurdity of how so many sportswriters and sportscasters refer to him today as "the greatest quarterback playing the game." Granted, he has posted some outstanding statistics, but he never plays like the MVP he claims to be in the big games. His playoff record is 11-10 and he's tied for 28th place in 4th quarter comebacks with John Brodie, Kerry Collins, Dan Fouts, and Jim Kelly with 21 games. What's so legendary about that?

Look ,folks , Rodgers has been an over rated over hyped Regular Season Wonder boy similar to Drew Brees . But Rodgers is now 11 - 10 in the Playoffs because of his mediocre Playoff play and his limited team construction . Green Bay just hasn't had that one two punch at Reciever you need to win Playoff games and SBs as a QB . He hasn't had that double threat WR Combo like a Evans - Godwin / Hicks - Cruz / Harrison - Wayne . In reality Jimmy G and the 49ers are not going to beat the Rams this time . So Jimmy G will throw 3 bonehead picks in a Playoff game like he always does and be run out of SF . I see the 49ers making a play for Rodgers and Adams . Both guys are from Northern California . Rodgers wanted to be drafted by the 49ers . Kyle Shanahan runs a similar offensive system to Matt Lafleur .The 49ers have a potential SB winning team , so Rodgers wouldn't be on a rebuild in SF . Rodger's wife could be an hour flight away from Hollywood as well .

@@PandainAtlanta Look , nobody was complaining about Brett Favre going to NY or Minnesota . Nobody complained about Montana in KC . Nobody complained about Brady going to Tampa . Nobody complained about Manning going to Denver . Nobody complained about Stafford going to LA . Rodgers would love to play for his childhood dream team in SF . Jimmy G would love to play for the Chicago Bears where he is from and resurrect that team . But Rodgers moving to an AFC team like Vegas , Denver , Cleveland , Pittsburgh , or Miami would actually enhance his legacy , not damage it . If he could win a SB in those SB starved cities he would be immortal , especially with the Browns . His Legacy is already not so good in the Post Season , and won't improve if he stays in GB . The Packers obviously want to down size their roster , not improve it financially . Rodgers can't stay in GB .

He should go to Indy. Somehow, despite having traded for Carson Wentz, they still have a huge amount of cap space. They acquire Rodgers (future first round picks, maybe Pittman) and sign Adams to go with the best young RB in football, one of the best OLs in football and a very solid DEF. It's a very winnable division. Harder conference, but the Packers would sooner do a deal to send him to the AFC. It's too bad they wasted assets and cap room on Wentz, but they can still get out of it, keep Wentz as a top backup and have a true Super Bowl contender with Rodgers.
@AJ_Ol
@AJ_Ol 2 жыл бұрын
Only 40 million. That’s enough for Rodgers but not Adams. Pittman is good yes but he isn’t a number 1 receiver and colts would have to lose their FRP for the next 3 years to get it done.
@chrisclark2747
@chrisclark2747 2 жыл бұрын
@@AJ_Ol The Colts have more space than the Steelers do right now, but I'm not sure how much space would open up if Ben retired. I think the Colts could find room for both. Pittman isn't a true No. 1, but he would be the No. 1 on a GB that loses Adams, plus it would free up a bit of room for the Colts. The Colts could cut Wentz and save ~$13mil as if they needed. They could get both.

The Packers' front office should get together with Aaron Rodgers and ask him, Where would you like to go? Denver? Pittsburgh? Maybe New Orleans? Washington? It might be safer for Rodgers to stay in the NFC, because the young talent at QB in the AFC might be too much to handle. Green Bay should get draft picks and look around to see if they can bring in free agents, including at QB.

The special teams wouldn’t have cost the packers the game, if Rodgers didn’t choke in the playoffs like he always does. You can’t be the “back to back MVP” and only put up 10 points and be out scored by Jimmy G. Rodgers has a history of this. Last season, Brady threw 3 INTs in the 2nd half of the NFC championship game and Rodgers did absolutely nothing with it. He’s a fantastic regular season qb who’s below average when the stakes are at their highest

@@kpNov23 for starters the virus leaked from a CDC lab in Wuhan. 2 they first told us we didn't need to wear a mask because the virus wasn't airborne, then did a complete 180 after the virus had already spread deep within the trenches of this country. 3 the CDC told us once vaccinated we would no longer need wear a mask because it was believed the vaccine actually kept one from transmitting the virus, but once it became common knowledge that the vaccinated are just as capable of contracting and spreading the virus as unvaccinated people they told the vaccinated to continue to wear masks. 4 the head director of the CDC ( Rochelle walensky )did an interview with CNN 2 weeks ago claiming we need to vaccinate our kids because over 100,000 children were hospitalized due to covid. Well that turned out to be a lie once the fact checkers got involved and it turned out only 3500 kids have been hospitalized due to covid and the overwhelming amount had underlying health issues already. The irony of it all was that she was making her rounds doing interviews so the CDC could regain trust within the masses lol. How'd that work out.
