The saddest thing about this team was what made them great was their depth and “next man up” attitude all season until the playoffs. Somehow guys like Payne, Johnson and McGee were non factors and it showed what this team would look like if they were handcuffed with most of their cap into Booker, Ayton and CP3. They couldn’t risk losing CP3 to the Lakers, Booker was the 1st homegrown superstar since Amar’e and sadly Ayton is nowhere close to what Amar’e was in his prime. I’d like to see him stay and grow as it took Embiid a few years to become who he is but just don’t see Ayton making that leap especially with all that was on the table this season.

I was one of the people who said the closest thing to Kobe since Kobe was Booker, but I was mostly referring to solely his scoring ability. In terms of that comparison, I think its still more or less a good comparison. The footwork in the mid range and shooting ability + size, I think he is very "Kobe-like." However its become clear thats where the comparison stops. For 1, he has nowhere near the athletic ability that Kobe had in his prime. And then after that, he lacks everything else. Booker is the poster boy for "empty stats". The only 70 pt game in the last 10 years? Still an L and he was clearly just stat padding. All his scoring during losing seasons. Never even led the league in PPG despite being the #1 option on a trash team. And like Andy mentions here in this video, he becomes a completely useless player when he's not scoring. I was a fan of his for awhile after the last few seasons, hes hard to root for. Especially after getting paired up with CP0rings.

Pelicans exposed the Suns in the first round and the Mavericks used it to their advantage. Once you've attack the paint, their defense tend to collapse and leave shooters wide open. Ayton on the other hand got exposed whenever he got switched to defend guys on the perimeter, same way the Mavs did to Gobert and the Jazz. J Kidd is a brilliant coach which is rare. Most coaches who had a successful stint is either a role player or a bench warmer back on their prime but Kidd is on a different level. Not only a great player but now, also a great coach. Phoenix on the other hand have a ton of work to do this off season. I still thinks Ayton doesn't deserve that max deal and if it's cause any drama or turmoil on the team, I say trade him and get something in return. Myles Turner perhaps if they want to do a sign and trade deal and Indiana is looking to get younger talent.

Just a few seasons ago the jazz where the #1 seed and lost as well. Not saying they are the same team as the jazz but winning the 1 seed doesn’t guarantee anything, any team can play good against bad teams throughout the season. Once playoffs starts that’s when you play the best of the league. I don’t think they pretenders, still very much contenders but glad to see the suns get humbled.

That everything always has to fall in his shoulders that it's always his fault that he can't do this right and he can't do that right. Chris Paul has been truly great for last few years. He's consistently averaged a double double or close to a double double with consistently 49% from the field for the last three seasons. I don't know if anybody else who is that close to 40 years old besides and I'm going to hate myself for this LeBron that has been nothing short of a consistent workhorse.

Injuries always happen. Would the Bucks have made the Finals if Harden Irving weren’t hurt in the 2nd round? Would the Heat have won the 2020 Finals if everyone was healthy? Now that Warriors won over the Celtics, so-called 1st defense in the league, and beat Dallas in 5 games to, where Suns couldn't even win the series against a team with limited offense, then there is no way Suns would have stood a chance against the Warriors as well. Paul has never been known as a scorer. Sure, he pops off here and there but it takes a toll on him. What he is known for is for playmaking and facilitating buckets for the rest of the team.
