This Was A First For Us! (Ouabache State Park, IN)

In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled in our ‪@NeXusRV‬ Wraith Super C RV to Ouabache State Park in Bluffton, Indiana where we were able to witness the Northern Lights, aka the Aurora Borealis!
It has been probably over 2 years since we last visited this park, and that was during the Winter and we were the only people in the park. We wanted to re-visit during the warmer months to see just how different it could be.

During this trip the Northern Lights were suppose to reach much further South than they normally do, so we went for a night walk with the dogs and were able to see some really awesome sights and get some amazing pictures!
We grilled up some burgers and steaks with our favorite seasoning from ‪@grillaholics6290‬ and we tried their NEW Brazilian Steakhouse Rub on our steaks and really loved the added flavor it added!

We went on a hike and one of the cool attractions about this park is that they have a Bison enclosure! It reminded us of South Dakota where the only bison we saw, were in an enclosure haha
We both climbed the fire tower and found it to be both scary and beautiful.
Overall it was a great trip and we are so happy we decided to return!

Glad to see Piper is back to more of a normal routine. Yes, when camping, it does not take long to get to your daily activity level in 🙂. I hate heights, but love seeing those views, I do not know if I would prefer coming up the that kind of tower after dark over daytime, never have tried after dark. 🤔

It's great Piper is fully released from restrictions and can go all out again! She definitely loves that haha We had a really great time here at this park. It was both relaxing and we got great exercise in together

Don't worry about the pronunciation of the river. It's KZfaq. Whether you pronounce it right or wrong, there'll be 300 experts commenting on how to "properly" say it... Great video as always.

I kept thinking about the time it would take to get an ambulance there at night if Mike slipped and fell on the tower. I am becoming more risk averse in the last few weeks. Looked like a nice time. Burgers looked great!

Glad to see Piper back in full action and on her hikes again...Pipes wanted to go up the stairs as well haha. man you make some great food in your vids ..I cooked some Larry The Cable Guy hamburger helper it was great added some sour cream to it made it even better plus easy to cook

We were camping at chain o lakes during northern lights, was able too see them Friday and Saturday nights. We have never seen them that clear before

we've been to chain o lakes probably 3x and really enjoy it! The parks around fort wayne we tend to visit fairly often because they aren't very far and always nice. We love Indiana state parks!

when Mike went up he still had residual drugs from travel in his system so he literally laid down haha! I'm positive he cried when Lynn was up there though!

I went up to the top of that tower and I was alone. Then came a dad and kids. And then the movement started and it was time to go. That sway sure makes it feel SKETCHY 😂

Haha yeah when i was going up a father/son were coming down and once I was up there for a minute another woman came up but luckily everyone was moving slowly (probably because it was super windy that day😂) we've been on other fire towers with people and wow, it was MOVING! Definitely can feel sketchy lol

@@WanderingWagners It was the Civilian Conservation Corps that FDR created back in the day to help recover from the Great Depression. They did a lot of work in the parks all over the country... :)

We really enjoy this park, personally. Bison, fire tower, hiking, nature etc everything we like! Indiana has some really great parks and there's not really one we wouldn't recommend there's so far. The campground here's isn't huge but both times we've been here have been great

Could you give me a Rough Estimate on just living in a RV such as the one you own . Like I asked just a rough estimate please 🙏🏻. Thank you 🙏🏻 for being real on your videos. Well that's a loaded question. Our RV cost is $140k 4 years ago but RV prices are much different today even for our same RV. If you prefer dry camping and Boondocking you'll save money on campground fees but you'll need to have solar and upgraded batteries. Then diesel prices varies across the country and if you stay put longer you won't spend as much fuel, but we tend to move around quite often. If you find a RV you like with a good deal that already has mods done then it could be much more attainable, and could save money compared to living in a house but a house will gain value likely, obviously. We appreciate you noticing us being real and simply just being our goofy selves and sharing our travels and such with everyone😊

I would rather purchase a older RV with the proven Mods already installed and troubleshooting done 😃👍🏻👍🏻. I’m almost in a place to travel. I’m afraid to wait, thinking 🤔 I need this that & other things done before I commit. I must apologize I didn’t mention your Beautiful Dogs Piper & Guy . I am a Dog lover myself. Love warm weather intro but hate that mike was not there to also enjoy the view...Mike remind her it takes two hands to handle a whopper ....burger LOL no way in hell I would be able to climb that tower.. ever since I fell off of scaffolding, heights have bothered me...much prefer watching you both do the climbing...

Mike was definitely there enjoying the RV wash for next video😎 We are always pretty cautious when climbing things like this.. Slow n steady! Luckily this tower felt way more sturdy than other ones we've been on!
