I have made it well known that TOOL is my favorite band and has been for over 30 years. Maynard and Carina make Pucifier so good. All three of Maynards bands are SO good in different ways. I'm really glad you're getting into this stuff, Tommy. 14k is right around the corner! One of the songs coming soon on my list by them is "Bullet Train to Iowa." Such a great song.

Maynard wrote this song during his grief over the death of his beloved little Yorkie, Mijo. He bonds deeply with those he loves, and I really feel like other sorrows were spilling into this song as well. It is about surrendering to grief- really giving yourself space to curl up in your own darkness, be alone with it and FEEL every horrible, raw, painful thing. There is soooo much pure emotion in this song and the songs Maynard writes/sings straight from the heart always hit me like a ton of bricks.

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody If you have Struggled with TOOL, then you have not listened deep enough to Spiral Out!🌀Seriously though ,TOOL's music is so deep that it is hard to grasp all that is going on to be sure, unless you are at or near the Genius level Maynard nerds out at! TOOL is my favorite band and with me having ADD and an average education it is hard for me to grasp all that is going on with their music and lyrics even after several years of listening to them.. With their crazy mathematical polyrhythms and complex time signatures to the over the top deep mentality of Maynards lyrics, that can take a lot for my ADD brain to digest to be honest.. I think the song Sober was the stand out song on the album Undertow was TOOL's first single song that was the tell of what TOOL was to become and their next album "Ænima" was Epic and it and every other album after that needs to be listened to in it's entirety and in order of track, Kind of like a Pink Floyd album in that respect.. Each album is a piece of work that should be listened to on a good stereo or headphones from the beginning to the end... Each album see's the band mature more and age like a fine wine..

For what it's worth, this band is a must see live performance. Do yourself a favor and go plant yourself in front of their stage and be moved in nearly inexplicable ways. Some suggestions: "Rev 22:20" from "V Is For Vagina", "The Rapture" from "Conditions of my Parole" or "The Humbling River" from "C Is For...", "Apocalyptical" from "Existential Reckoning". They have so many great tracks. Keep exploring!

I love Puscifer. This album is very stark in many ways, distopian scenes and feelings beautifully performed. This was one of only 2 tracks from Existential Reckoning they did NOT perform, they put on a full show not merely performing the songs, there was humour at times and chaos as well. Puscifer are very special to me, they are challenging to the senses which is a good thing, they are never boring. Big Love Brother

Maynard wrote 'A Singularity' about his dog. He's a huge animal lover and the death of his baby/dog was very impactful. Oh btw, it's 'Puss - uh - fer'..instead of 'puss - uh - fire' . I love this entire album, it's so good! Can't wait for the next one, love your channel man!

In humble opinion (which no one asked for) Puscifer is Maynard’s most creative and free endeavor. Maynard knows the value of surrounding himself with unbelievably talented people/musicians and does so in the ever changing lineup in Puscifer, Carina Round and Mat Mitchell withstanding. It’s surprising how many people aren’t even aware that Puscifer exists. Don’t sleep on this band, they do not disappoint. Love to see new Puscifer fans born, enjoy the journey Tommy.

Very cool! I never really listened to anything past Undertow when it came to TOOL, so I'm really digging everything that is being shared here. It's funny how closed off we can get when we only listen to certain types of music ,but now I'm here for the journey, bring it on! 🤘🤘

Your missing out as Undertow's only stand out song to me was Sober! The very next album Ænima was way!!!! better in every sense of the way than Undertow, Ænima was TOOL come to life!!!!

Hi again. Couldn't help myself but.... you should watch the Puscifer videos that star Maynard's comedic characters Billy Dee and Agent Dick Merkin. These include "Bullet Train To Iowa" and "Conditions Of My Parole", along with a slew of promotional short videos. These characters also show up in their live performances. Also, if you weren't aware, "Rev 22:20" and "The Mission - M is for Milla" feature the vocals of Milla Jovovich (of The Fifth Element and Resident Evil fame). ----- Found your Devin Townsend Project reactions today too. If you like concept albums, check out his solo album "Ziltoid The Omniscient" and The Project's "Z2" (zed squared) about Ziltoid from the planet Ziltoidia 9, who orchestrates an attack against Earth after being served a fetid cup of coffee while in search of the BEST cup of coffee in the universe. SUPER entertaining! Onward and upward!

I guess it's good that people are different. I guess maybe I'm a bit weird. This song got to me, but not in a good way. The tones set my teeth on edge. I couldn't listen to it all the way through. And, I was surprised because I really liked the first Puscifer song that you reacted to. Hopefully, it's an anomaly and I will get back to really liking them with the next one.

Much like with Tool, Puscifer tends to play around with dissonant notes/chords as these purposefully evoke emotion in the listener. Perhaps the wrong emotion in this case for you. LOL

I'm a sucker for odd tones and dissonance, so this one hit me. I felt a lot of sadness, lament, etc in the music, but I could see this hitting someone wrong. ❤
