@@jhonyermoyou know, that song was written after MLK was assassinated but Bobby was assassinated just before he recorded the song. The verse about Bobby was added just before recording but they forgot to add RFK's name to the title. Sad tune that makes me tear up everytime I hear it. The 60's... GREAT Music/tumultuous times.

As far as I know, a groupie is a lady of what we used to call easy virtue, who made herself available to members of bands or their entourage. Groups of them were often invited to parties or just invited backstage for se*ual pleasures - is that really what you meant, as it certainly made me smile reading it ?

They spend a lot on merch and can tell you almost anything you might want to know about the artist. I would even call Deadheads and the fans that follow Billy Strings around groupies. Also both male and female fans, not just the ladies.

My brother had a 1957 Ford that had "The Wanderer" painted on it. This song got revived when Mel Gibson sang it in "Chicken Run." That was a great movie and surprisingly, Mel didn't wear any makeup when he made the movie. Believe me, he sure looked different without makeup. I would love to see your reaction to it.

Dion started out with the Belmonts doing street corner doo-wop. Check out "Teenager In Love" from 1959. Then he went solo and "The Wanderer" came soon thereafter. A year or two later he came out with ""Ruby Baby" starting to show more of his bluesy side. Check out either Dion's version of "Ruby Baby" or the fantastic harmonies on the version released by Donald Fagen (of Steely Dan) in the early 80s.

Dion started out as the lead singer of Dion & the Belmonts, a doo wop group named for their home of Belmont Ave. in the Bronx. After many hit records Dion left because he wanted to do rock, & they were still into doo wop ballads.

Dion is still making records. He released an album in 2020/2021 where he collaborates with a bunch of great artists. My favorite on the album is "Dancing Girl" with Mark Knopfler playing guitar. He's in his 80's and can still sing.

Dion put out so many hits back in the day, seemed every month he had a hit and I loved every one of them, still great songs to listen today. Each song evokes a different memory as well, so that speaks tons as to how his songs are iconic and I believe will always be timeless.

I was shocked to see you have not reacted to Crystal Gayle. She has an amazing voice and was quite popular in the 70s and 80s. She is also Loretta Lynn's sister I would recommend this song as the first reaction to her voice "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" followed by "Why have you left the one you left me for?"
